Hello, and welcome to the commencement thread! Here, y'all can generalpost and bring team spirit to your hearts' content! Just be chill, y'know.

Also, the pictured mascots do show this year's draft order! Have fun with that.

Player signups will be going up on the 27th of December in order to give the spriting team time to complete sprites for both our teams and SCL's teams. We hope you sign up!​

For the first time in RBTT history, there are public tryouts!

With the expansion of RBTT this year, we're expecting a sharp increase in the demand for Gen 9 Random Battles players. The goal of public tryouts is to give tryouters a lot of games to prove themselves without making managers play a ton of Bo3's!

I'm pleased to announce that we're holding tryouts on behalf of the following teams:
:hoopa: All-Star Hoopers with Irpachuza, Hades, and Fragments (playing)
:marshadow: Pyrite Phantoms with Roginald, paysa (playing), and EatFoods
:magearna: Mecha Magearnas with Piyu (playing) and frostyicelad
:heatran: Flame Body Faction with JustOut459 (playing) and Ghostilex
:celebi: Time Travelers with goldmason, LogIce, and Clem (playing)
:lunala: Dark Moon Lunalas with Amaranth (playing) and DerpySuX
:diancie: Diamond Storms with Rage, sunsets, and Sapphire (playing)

Currently, we are only planning on holding tryout tournaments for Gen 9 Random Battles. However, feel free to join even if you're not interested in playing Gen 9 Random Battles - with enough interest in other formats, we might be able to make something work!

The tournaments will be held live (so the whole tournament happens in one ~3 hour period) Swiss. The nature of Swiss tournaments is that it gives you 3 "lives", so that you're still competing even if you get hax'd/bad matchup, and it'll also sort for player quality in the later rounds so that bracket luck is minimally involved.

We plan on holding 3 tournaments, one each on Jan 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (times to be determined soon) to accommodate different timezones and give dedicated players multiple chances to prove themselves.

Hi everyone, if you're interested in playing for the Flame Body Faction feel free to reach out to either myself (justout. on Discord) or Ghostilex (underfive on Discord), sending us what formats you're interested in playing, as well as any ladder stats, tournament achievements, or notable replays you may have in either Rands or other formats. We're also open to doing tryouts if we like what we see in your resume, though with the holiday season currently upon us those may end up being deferred to next week and beyond.

Please include:
- Formats you're interested in playing
- Tournament results (team tours and individuals, rands preferred but other formats are fine if the results are notable enough)
- Ladder records
- Anything else you'd like to include that isn't covered by the above that you think would be relevant

If you wanna be with the returning champs shoot a disc dm to me (frag.ments), poat (princeofalltacos), or irpa (irpachuza)

Mostly looking for the following:
- Past records in team tours
- Deep individual tour runs
- Top ladder gxes/elos
- Replays vs top players

Feel free to also include anything else you can think of that you believe shows your skills as a player
 
time travelers will not be hosting actual tryouts because being true pokemon players we're doing all we can to not actually play the game
you can however send us introduction messages on discord @ claquettesgucci, goldmason OR logice. only reach out to one manager PLEASE we're sending each other everything and we're trying to avoid duplicates.

state your smogon name and format(s) you wanna play as clearly as possible, send us randbats tournament results, ladder peaks & general tournament experience.
you can also send me replays from tournament sets if you'd like.
we might not respond right away but we're gonna read everything you send us.

also specific to french people who wanna pm me specifically: PLEASE send me your message in english, it doesn't matter if we know each other or not im gonna forward your message to my managers who do not speak french and im not translating your stuff
