Welcome to the first RBY Monotype Open! This is a Type C tournament as part of the Monotype OM Circuit. This circuit will not be for an official trophy or banner, but even better, the winner of the circuit will gain a custom rank for a year in the live Monotype OM Room, alongside a Discord role signifying their honorable win. (This can be an emoji like a Snowman or etc) At the end of the year, a seeded playoff will be held, consisting of the top 16 players with the most points. The winner of the playoffs will be crowned the overall best player of the year. The rank in Monotype OM PS! room will last for a year (in conjunction with PS! Rules).

Tournament Rules
  • General tournament rules and regulations are in effect and can be found here.
  • This is a standard Gen 1 Monotype tournament.
  • This tournament will be double elimination, all rounds will be Bo3. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Replays will be required for all matches.
  • Matches are to be played on smogtours, unless both parties agree to play on Pokemon Showdown! main server.
  • Do not make baseless activity posts -- get in contact with your opponent and report missed times / scheduling issues only. Activity calls will be made by myself, potentially with neutral assistance from a Monotype OM Moderator or Tournament Director. Coinflips will be done publicly on PS!

The tier starts off with Psychic, Water, and Flying being the mainstream types alongside with primarily types with either partial-trapping moves like Bind, Fire Spin, and Wrap validating its viability such as Fire, Rock, and Poison.

I forgot to save the replay of the 2nd as well but I can confirm ThinkCalmly won. If you need the data for a usage stats comp, I used a Psychic with Alakazam, Starmie, Exeggutor, Jynx, Slowbro, and Hypno. They used a Normal with Fearow, Dodrio, Kangaskhan, Snorlax, Tauros, and Chansey
