Due to an amazing defensive typing, decent defensive stats, and an incredible utility movepool, Iron Treads functions as a niche RegenVest user capable of checking many special attackers like Gholdengo, Latios, and Scream Tail. Earthquake is generally preferred as Iron Treads's Ground-type STAB move due to it being the strongest option, but Earth Power deals more damage to Great Tusk and Pecharunt. Knock Off annoys defensive staples like Corviknight and Great Tusk by removing their Leftovers or Rocky Helmet while debilitating Manaphy and Swampert by getting rid of their Assault Vest; alternatively, Ice Spinner hits Zapdos, Garchomp, and the Landorus formes. Rapid Spin supports allies that dislike entry hazards like Chien-Pao and Ogerpon-H. Volt Switch provides Iron Treads with pivoting while chipping Corviknight and Skarmory lacking Volt Absorb.

Iron Treads fits best on more defensively oriented team structures such as bulky offense and stall. Physical attackers like Zamazenta, Cinderace, and Garchomp all threaten Iron Treads with their STAB moves, so checks to these Pokemon such as Pecharunt and Skarmory are an important asset. Iron Treads struggles against strong special attackers like Iron Moth, Primarina, and Choice Specs Gholdengo; therefore, partners like Roaring Moon and Moltres can aid it. Since Iron Treads is heavily reliant on Assault Vest to bolster its subpar special bulk, it needs Knock Off absorbers like Skarmory and Scream Tail. Ground-types like Great Tusk, Ting-Lu, and the Landorus formes are especially annoying to Iron Treads, as they prevent it from pivoting out with Volt Switch, so switch-ins to these Ground-types like Skarmory, Moltres, and Zapdos are appreciated.

Due to an amazing defensive typing, decent defensive stats, i would remove this but up to u and an incredible utility movepool, Iron Treads functions as a niche RegenVest Pokemon user capable of checking a variety of the tier's many special attackers. like the psychics/zapdos/dengo/etc, although i would make this a separate sentence Knock Off annoys defensive staples like Corviknight and Great Tusk by removing their Leftovers or Rocky Helmet while debilitating Manaphy and Swampert by getting rid of their Assault Vest. Rapid Spin supports allies that dislike Stealth Rock like Chien-Pao, Roaring Moon, and Latios. Tranq said something similar in the other treads analysis, everything takes rocks so mention rock weak mons or things that need the chip for a certain ko range Volt Switch provides Iron Treads with pivoting while letting it deal decent damage to chipping Corviknight and Skarmory lacking Volt Absorb.

Iron Treads fits best on more defensively orientated team structures such as balance bulky offense and stall. Physical attackers like Zamazenta, Cinderace, and Garchomp all threaten Iron Treads with their STAB moves, so checks to these Pokemon such as Pecharunt, Manaphy, u cant run regen treads and mana on the same team and Skarmory are an important asset. Even after having its Special Defense boosted by Assault Vest, Iron Treads still struggles against strong super effective special attackers like Iron Moth and Primarina; also notable that specs dengo can potentially 2hko u therefore, partners like Roaring Moon and Moltres can aid it. Since Iron Treads is heavily reliant on its Assault Vest to bolster its subpar special bulk, it needs Knock Off absorbers like Skarmory and Scream Tail. lando/tusk/tinglu blocking volt are annoying etc
