  • Typing: Bug - Steel
  • Abilities:
    • Ability 1: Swarm
    • Ability 2: Compound Eyes

"Alolan Dottlers were transported by migrated Coviknights who dropped their lunch by accident, pieces of their armor forming early shells for the Pokemon."

  • Name: Orebeetle
  • Name Origin: Ore + Orbeetle

  • Height: 15 m
  • Weight: 350 kg
  • Typing: Bug - Steel

Competitive Info:
A defense hazard setter with reliable healing via Regenerator. Its great typing makes it a check to the plethora of Psychics and Dragons in the metagame, while its access to IronPress and Nasty Plot can make it a decent offensive threat.

A set-up sweep that has a unique defensive niche of blocking Dark-type attacks with its ability, allowing it to safely keep its item from potential Knock-Off attempts.

:sv/numel::sv/unown-question:
:numel:
Original Species: Numel
New Region: Paldea
Category: Numb
Height: 0.7 m
Weight: 24.0 kg
Typing:
Agility - PSYCHIC

Abilities: Oblivious / Simple / Own Tempo [HA]
Stats: 65 HP / 30 Atk / 50 Def / 65 SpA / 45 SpD / 60 Spe = 305 BST
Evolution Method: Level up whilst outside of its Poké Ball after walking 1,000 steps using the Let's Go! feature

Removed Level-Up Moves: Ember, Incinerate, Lava Plume, Flamethrower
Added Level-Up Moves: Rock Throw, Ancient Power, Psybeam, Power Gem
Removed TM Moves: Fire Spin, Flame Charge, Will-O-Wisp, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Overheat, Flare Blitz, Heat Crash, Temper Flare, Lash Out
Added TM Moves: Rock Blast, Smack Down, Power Gem
Removed Egg Moves: Heat Wave
New Egg Moves: Moonblast, Moonlight, Extrasensory

Flavor/Design: Almost the exact same as Numel, except the green patches on its back are replaced with stone (and there is no hole at the top)
Competitive Info: LC

"It's appears to not have a single thought behind its eyes. In that sense, its mind reflects that of a desert landscape: vast and barren."
"Lacks the ability to register pain, letting it endure practically any climate within Paldea. Many travelers utilize it to carry items, even outside of its desert home."
:unown-question:
Name: Camystic
Name Origin: Camel + Mystic
Category: Divination
Height: 1.9 m
Weight: 145.0 kg
Typing:
Agility - PSYCHIC
Agility - PSYCHIC

Abilities: Unburden / Solid Rock / Wandering Spirit [HA]
Stats: 80 HP / 30 Atk / 85 Def / 110 SpA / 50 SpD / 105 Spe = 460 BST

Added Level-Up Moves: Future Sight, Cosmic Power, Slack Off
New TMs: Meteor Beam, Psybeam, Stored Power, Psyshock, Reflect, Light Screen, Skill Swap, Psychic, Calm Mind, Psychic Terrain, Trick Room, Future Sight, Expanding Force, Psychic Noise

Flavor/Design: Design more similar to Numel than Camerupt. Taller, with two humps on its back instead of one. Eye has a twinkle to it

Competitive Info: Unburden Meteor Beam user. Unfortunately given restraints, it's hard to make a properly coherent stat spread without dumping a few stats. So, what this accomplishes here is a Speedy mon who can trigger Mental Herb Meteor Beam for a +1 to SpA and an effective +2 to Spe to clean up the foe. It also has some reasonable PhysBulk in order to live a physical attack to set up on, or survive priority Aqua Jet or Sucker Punch. Probably would enjoy Kortori setting Aurora Veil to aid in its bulk, or a future Psychic Terrain setter who can help protect it from priority.

"While it may appear to aimlessly roam the desert, this travel helps it maintain a clear mind. Through its journeys, it has achieved a state of enlightenment."
"Through the calm desert nights, this Pokémon looks upon the sky to divine the secrets of the world. Its eyes twinkle under the moonlight, reflecting the stars themselves."

Slate #5 - Voting Phase

Apologies for the lateness of this - I've been very busy IRL! But I don't believe I'm seeing any vetoes this time around, so without further ado, here are your options for this poll...

********************

For convenience, here is the rule for voting, copied directly from the header post for this mod:
"You may vote for up to 7 evolutionary families per slate, and your votes should include both the family of your choice and the username (preferably without tagging them directly) of their creator. You cannot self-vote more than two submissions, and if you do self-vote, vote for at least three more submissions that aren't yours. In addition, please tag your self-votes or your entire vote collection will be rejected."
Tentatively, this voting phase will last for 48 hours, meaning the winners - by which I mean the entries that have received the three highest vote counts per entry - will be decided on Monday, October 21 shortly after 8 PM EST. Depending on forum activity, though, this period may be shortened or lengthened as needed.

Each slate will have a maximum of 6 winning submissions, with placement slots based on the top three vote counts. If there are 6 or fewer winners in all three slots combined, they will all be submitted, but if the total exceeds that number, at least one slot will require a tiebreaker poll to trim them down. If there is only one winner for each of two slots, the third slot can accommodate up to four winners, but no more than that before the tiebreaker is required. So as a general rule, I will establish a tiebreaker poll if at least one placement slot includes more than four winners.

Happy voting, everyone!

To anyone with a winning submission, please fill out any information listed in the template that was missing from your submission, including movepools, TM lists and egg groups/moves, and any other noteworthy competitive information. You can also provide sample movesets for any of your winning subs, though those are optional.

Ummm, there's a slight error here in that both me and flareth13 voted for Distorted Wooloo.....(There's still no tiebreaker, though, right?)
But, regardless, to kick off the winner's circle for this slate on my side, please welcome the Snakes of the Underworld, led by their king, Kobralleh!

Metoer Beam Cleaner (Camystic) @ Power Herb
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Psychic
- Earth Power
- Moonblast

Likely its only viable set. Unfortunately its poor defensive type & lack of special bulk makes it not reliable enough to run its utility (SR, Screens) and recovery (Slack Off) most of the time

I think from here on out, to help out our spreadsheet, I'll be providing the proper list of added and removed moves here, given how many of the mons I'm subbing have some removed or added moves that occur both within Level-Up and TM

Hey, so is this Pet Mod still going? If so when is the next slate going to be?
The most recent additions are still in the process of being coded and playtested, and since the Council and I have been busy with IRL matters recently we haven't found the time yet to regroup and continue this. We'll be sure to keep you all posted when able, though!

I did think about the possibility of another room tour for this mod, but it seems we still need to have all the winning subs actually coded first...
