Rejected - Inactive Remove Home Page Highlight on Disconnect

The title should explain it all - this is a suggestion to remove the highlight that pops up on the home tab should you disconnect.

From what I've heard, it was apparently added so that people could find the Reconnect button - and this was absolutely useless, since: a) the reconnect button pops up when you disconnect anyways, b) you can literally refresh the page directly, so there's no need to even have a Reconnect button on the homepage, and c) the ping that you get has caused a lot of confusion when someone disconnects. I've seen dozens of people asking in chat whether someone PMed them when they DCed, since the ping led them to believe that they missed a message when they disconnected. It also doesn't give any indication of whether you actually did get a PM, and I've missed quite a few messages when I chalked it up to the disconnect ping.

That's all from my side, really. If there's any reason for it to be kept even after taking into account these three points, please let me know.

I don't remember who added it, but the reason they told me was that people sometimes aren't looking at PS when they disconnect, and the ping is a useful reminder that they can no longer receive PMs/challenges and should reconnect.

I'm not sure how to square that with your request.

Is it possible to have a ping that doesn't localize in the home page, then? Rather than a ping that shows up in the home tab, having a notification that resolves once the tab is opened.

If PS autotabs you to the Home tab, this issue seems fixed, no? (when you disconnect, automatically tab to the home tab, that way you can see whether you missed pms prior to disconnecting.)
