RESONANCE
Hey, this is going to be my first RMT and why not start with a weird team? I wanted to build a tailwind team that would actually work. The idea is nice. Offensive teams don’t have switchins for the wallbreakers when tailwind is active and I won’t need tailwind at all versus stall. There isn’t a teambuilding process, since I took some viable mons with tailwind and added 2 big wallbreakers.
In-depth analysis:
Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie --> Skill Link
EVs: 120 HP/ 252 Atk / 136 Spe
Adamant nature
-Close Combat
-Pin MISsile
-Rock Blast
-Swords Dance
The first wallbreaker and tw-sweeper is mega heracross. With only 3 real turns of tailwind, you need to use those turns as effectively as possible. With hazards, this monster is capable of OHKOing a large part of the tier and pokemon that can take a hit (e.g. Landorus-T) have trouble doing anything back. Swords dance is here for stall. 136 Speed is for outspeed 44-speed Rotom-W outside of tailwind.

Kyurem Black @ Life Orb
Ablility: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 108 SpA / 148 Spe
Lonely nature
-Dragon Claw
-Fusion Bolt
-Ice Beam
-Earth Power
Kyurem-B is the second tw-sweeper. It’s a great wallbreaker and is capable of OHKOing Landorus with ice beam, which is a mon Heracross doesn’t want to face. It also OHKOs mons like azumarill and Altaria. It has over-all pretty good synergy with Hera. I chose a physically oriented cube, so it could hit stuff like slowbro hard. With its already high base atk stat, dragon claw would hit extremely hard, which is really helpful versus stall. Ice beam gets the KOs I need with this spread. With 148 speed EVs cube can outspeed scarf latios in tailwind.
Zapdos @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest nature
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden power [Ice]
-Heat Wave
-Tailwind
I once wanted to build a team around agility Zapdos, which was essentialy a buff mega Manectric. Capable of outspeeding scarf Lando-t, sand rush Excadrill and KOing them. Zapdos is a powerful sweeper in tailwind versus offensive teams, but not as good as a wallbreaker versus bulkier teams. With 160 speed, Zapdos can outspeed adamant Excadrill in sand and tailwind. Coverage is standard.

Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly nature
-Brave Bird
-Steel Wing
-Swords Dance
-Tailwind
Talonflame is a revengekiller and tailwind setter. This team needs tailwind to function well, so I need to be able to always set up tailwind reliably. 386 speed +1 priority tailwind makes talonflame useful. Life orb and steel wing are necessary for killing Diancie. Without it, I would immediately lose if the opponent has one with protect. Tailwind obviously doesn’t matter when facing a move in another priority bracket. This is why I needed as much speed as possible. Mainly to speedcreep talonflame. SD helps me handle Clefable and mega Sableye.
Skarmory @ Mental herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid nature
-Stealth Rock
-Spikes
-Taunt
-Tailwind
This Skarmory is a god. I needed hazards to break sashes and get more KOs. Skarmory does this the best, since it can almost always leave 2 turns of tailwind when it faints. Your opponent will most likely kill you the turn after you went for tailwind, because you pressure with stacking hazards. If you predict correctly, ideally, you faint with having sr and 2 turns of tailwind.

Whimsicott @ Babiri berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid nature
-Tailwind
-Memento
-Encore
-Stun spore
When testing the team, I quickly realized I didn’t have enough turns of tailwind, so I had to add another tailwind setter. Whimsicott is really reliable and always leaves 2 turns. Encore helps me with latis that went for defog or draco for example. Stun spore gives me more speed control, for maybe a jolly Excadrill in sand. Whims doesn’t need an item to do its job. Babiri berry is here to take an iron head, or meteor mash, or flash cannon, or a bp, so I can live a hit and tailwind without trouble.
I wanted to get a nice peak but then ninja had to get suspected .-. Although this team has no trouble with it at all it deserves to get banned imo. That was it. Feel free to test it and maybe get some COIL, because it’s a lot of fun to use.
Btw English is not my native language, so feel free to correct me :)
