It's been a while since I last was here. I don't even think Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 was out. It's good being back.
After weeks of putting it off, I’ve finally made my first Gen VI team. While I wanted to continue Sandstorm after an amazing time with it throughout the previous gen, the nerf of Sand Stream made it not as interesting as it used to be. That and I wanted to try something different. So I made this:
Gollum (Smeargle) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 80 HP / 96 Def / 80 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Spore
- Whirlwind
This is my lead and is responsible for most of my wins. His main job: setting up Sticky Web so my slower sweepers (Togekiss and Mamoswine, both with only 80 base Speed) can still do their things. He also sets up Stealth Rock to hit annoying Pokemon, break Focus Sashes/Sturdy, etc. and will Spore stuff so that they can’t do anything for a while. Whirlwind is there to get rid of Pokemon who think that they will set up on Smeargle.
Slimer (Gengar) (M) @ Gengarite
Ability: Levitate (Shadow Tag)
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Sludge Bomb
- Dazzling Gleam
My favorite Pokemon is back with a new trick: Mega Evolution. With a nice boost to the defenses, a good boost to speed, and an amazing boost to Sp. Atk on an already stellar Special Attacker makes Mega Gengar a boss. Trading in an immunity to Ground-type moves, Gengar now has the infamous ability Shadow Tag, letting it trap non-Ghost Pokemon, leaving them unable to flee. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb are good STABs, letting Gengar hit a nice amount of Pokemon, including the new Fairy-type. Thunderbolt is to hit annoying Water-types which can hurt my Gliscor. Dazzling Gleam is to hit Dark-types and Dragon-types hard.
The Batman (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 40 Def / 224 Spd
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Ice Fang
- Toxic
This Pokemon is the same thing I ran on my Gen V sandstorm team for a while now and it is still good. On this team, he serves as my Physical wall/tank. He uses Protect so he can set up his Toxic Orb. Earthquake is an excellent STAB, Ice Fang is for coverage and
Toxic is to poison annoying walls. His only downside is he is weak to Ice and Water, often knocking him out.
Misty (Togekiss) (F) @ King's Rock
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 4 SAtk / 40 Spd
Bold Nature
- Air Slash
- Dazzling Gleam
- Roost
- Nasty Plot
This is an evil Pokemon. Togekiss is my special sweeper and with Dazzling Gleam, it can wreak many a Dragon. Air Slash combined with Serene Grace and King’s Rock can make flinching way too common an occurance for your opponent. Nasty Plot is to help set up for more sweeping and Roost to heal off damage.
Anubis (Lucario) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Extreme Speed
This is my physical sweeper, Lucario. He is very simple: Swords Dance to boost, Close Combat to wreak stuff, Crunch to hit what Combat can't, and Extreme Speed to hit late game stuff. Always a very good Pokemon.
Nurse Joy (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Bold Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Thunder Wave
- Flamethrower
Blissey returns to plague Special attackers once again. I picked Blissey over Chansey since I wanted the Leftovers recovery. Aromatherapy is good, but does have one downside: it heals the poison from my Gliscor. Softboiled helps heal Blissey, Thunder Wave slows down annoying sweepers, which in conjunction with Sticky Web is annoying, and Seismic Toss is there to hit things when needed.
All in all, the team has done really well so far and is enjoyable to play. I’m considering replacing Blissey, but I don’t know with what. I really need to get rid of Gliscor for a better physical wall since he hasn't been doing as well as I would like. I’m also thinking of getting rid of Lucario for Infernape once they are available.
I would also note that this is to be made for the actual games, so don't make any suggestions that would require event moves in general, please.
