Reversemons!

Approved by The Immortal

Ever wondered what it would be like to face a Blisssey that outspeeds everything and whose primary role is as a physical attacker? How about facing a Deoxys-A who can tank everything? If so, then this is the place for you. Welcome to Reversemons!

Reversemons takes the Metagame and adds a major twist: changing the order of a Pokemon's base stats.
HP / Att / Def / SpAtt / SpDef / Spe is reversed, and now becomes
Spe / SpDef / SpAtt / Def / Att / HP.

We'll start off with a banlist, then move on to some stuff (all theorymon at this point) that could be viable in this meta.

Banlist:
  • Standard OU banlist, but I'll make the decision to unban some pokemon from Ubers.
  • Added pokemon: Kyurem-B
  • Removed from banlist: Genesect, Blaziken, Deoxys-D, Deoxys-S

Regarding Mega-Evos:
I'm not sure at this point what the best option would be; for the moment, I think that using the base speed of the regular (non-evolved) pokemon is the best option, though this lowers the viability of some Megas (not necessarily a bad thing). Swinging it the other way would likely decrease diversity. The other option would be to have the HP change, but there is no precedent for something like this. Thoughts/Ideas?

Let's move on the some viable 'mons:
Offensive:
  • Blissey
  • Shifted to 55 / 135 / 75 / 10 / 10 / 255
  • Yes, Blissey has a base Speed of 255 and an attack of 135. She also has an expansive physical movepool including Earthquake, Return, Wild Charge, Rock Slide, and a large amount of Punching moves. Also, Serene Grace Body Slam + Headbutt. New paraflincher!
  • Chansey, sitting at 50 / 105 / 35 / 5 / 5 / 250, with a similar movepool to Blissey's.
  • Lapras
  • Shifted to 60 / 95 / 85 / 80 / 85 / 130, and a large movepool as well as access to a couple of boosting moves (Dragon Dance, Curse). Slap a Life Orb on there and pick some good moves, could do some damage.
  • Shuckle becomes the definition of a glass cannon, capable of reaching an attack stat (or special attack stat) of 614. It dies if you poke it however, but could potentially be "good" on a trick room team.
  • Registeel has the potential to be a fearsome mixed attacker, especially with Rock Polish, and has enough moves on both ends of the spectrum to clean-up late game at 50 / 150 / 75 / 150 / 75 / 80.
  • Goodra and Latios have access to the strongest STAB Outrages in the game, coming off a 150 attack stat, Goodra being slightly faster at 90 base speed.

Defensive:
  • Aegislash loses some utility, it's normal form being offensive (unusable), but it's attacking form becomes 60 / 50 / 150 / 50 / 150 / 60, with a fantastic defensive typing. Luckily it can access its defensive (Blade) form change through priority.
  • Landorus becomes a premier mixed wall, especially with Intimidate, sitting at 91 / 80 / 105 / 90 / 145 / 89 with a good support movepool (knock off, Stealth Rock) and a good SpAtt stat.
  • Archeops has outstanding walling potential with 110 / 65 / 112 / 65 / 140 / 75. It still has a terrible ability, but access to moves such as Roost, Knock Off, Switcheroo, and Defog, it can take hits for days.
  • Salamence is somewhat of a combo between Landorus and Archeops, at 100 / 80 / 110 / 80 / 135 / 95, with a good ability in Intimidate and support moves (Dragon Tail being notable)
  • Thundurus is similar to Landorus, with a better utility ability. Inb4 prankster.
If this is coded at some point replays will go here:

Feel free to discuss potential brokenmons and stuff that you think should be allowed, as well as stuff that could be viable!

Also, if indeed anyone is ever on PS!, PM me (username is notanaltaria) and head over to piccilo's server and play me.

Some new pokemon that may be good:
480.png

Uxie:
95/130/75/130/75/75
Uxie is now a better Azelf. More attack power and a nice movepool, this thing can wreck :D
488.png

Cresselia:
85/130/75/120/70/120
If she had more physical moves Cresselia would be awesome :D
Still, a decent special attacker :3
637.png

Volcarona:
100/105/135/65/60/85
Flame Body + 135 defense= Awesome physical wall. Add a nice 105 attack and a decent movepool can make this pokemon a very viable option.

Aerodactyl is now bulkier than Vaporeon, sporting 130/60/105 bulk and access to a great support movepool with SR, Taunt, defog and roost. Depending on how mega evo's are handled, this could potentially go up to 150/70/135. Nice concept for a metagame, really flips roles around.

For some reason, there was a previous iteration of this metagame that never ended up existing, called Mirrormons, which was coded on Piccolo's server. If you want to play this (I think it's exactly identical), go to piccolo.psim.us. (We also have really weird BH and Hackmons versions of the metagame)

Regarding Stat Exchange / similar stat swapping submissions of late:

We get a lot of these. A lot. I'm not kidding, like one every few days. The reason this was approved is because the same submission came through a while back and was revisited for approval, but since that user was MIA, we approved Trex's which came in afterward. Going forward, we're not really looking for more stat swapping submissions. This and Stat Exchange are pretty simple concepts, so they should be easy to play.

That being said, behold the terror that is Cloyster!
70 / 45 / 85 / 180 / 95 / 50
Yeah Skill Link is kind of useless, but when you have 180 Special Attack x2, who cares?

Meet Tornadus-T!:

tornadus-therian.gif

121 / 90 / 110 / 80 / 100 / 79

Tornadus-T is insanely bulky for a Regenerator, boasting a stellar 121 base HP stat and good defenses.

It also still has decent attacking stats, decent enough to use an AV with great effect:

252+ SpA Mega Aggron Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tornadus-T: 162-192 (36.3 - 43%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Also, assuming that Mega Pokemon gain more HP with their increased HP stat, Mega Absol is going to be an excellent Magic Bouncer with access to Wish and incredible bulk: 115 / 60 / 115 / 60 / 150 / 65

EDIT: Yeah, this metagame is extremely similar to Stat Exchange, but the speed and HP switch keeps everything interesting.

Pixilate threat coming through!

700.gif

60/130/110/65/65/95

So sylveon has become an offensive monster, sporting Pixilate Return and the like. It has problems with coverage (more so than Sylveon normally does), but it can punch holes with pixilate moves so that's ok. Return, Facade, Quick Attack, Double-Edge, and even Flail if you're feeling special (keep in mind Sylveon does learn Endure - a EndureSalac spread could work w/Quick Attack to pick off faster mons). It also has Natural Gift if you really want the coverage. Overall Sylveon is pretty cool. It's 110 defense is nice to survive some physical priority moves, but don't rely on its bulk - 60 HP makes it not so good. This can work to its favor though with the endure flail set.

80/115/125/65/65/68 --> 80/135/165/65/85/68

Mega Gardevoir plays a much bulkier than Sylveon. Normal Gardevoir can be effective I guess, but remember it does NOT get Play Rough (it does have STAB Zen Headbutt tho). M. Garde has silly physical bulk and ok special bulk. It also has Pixilate Return to smack thing around, and has all the Elemental Punches for coverage and Shadow Sneak for priority. It can also use Body Slam over Return. Body Slam has decent power after Pixilate (110 before STAB) while also having a nasty 30% chance to para

30/65/55/200/85/70

get a rock polish (probably with focus sash) and sweep with sheer force flash cannon/earth power/dark pulse, which is perfect neutral coverage. it can't take a hit at all, but it will probably bring something down with it, if you aren't KOed before you set up. also works on trick room teams.

Here's a couple of set's I was theorymonning...

Blissey (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Headbutt
- Body Slam
- Earthquake / Thunder Punch / Ice Punch
- Fire Punch / Thunder Punch / Ice Punch

Uninvested, she hits a Speed Stat of 682, so we're all good there, with an attack stat of 405. Paraflinch is an annoying strategy, but it does work, especially coming off a good attack stat. Pick the two coverage moves that you want.

Registeel @ Life Orb
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Rock Polish
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Earthquake

Late game cleaner, Rock Polish is there to boost respectable Base speed of 80, and some coverage moves. Earthquake for coverage, and some special moves. Registeel might be better physical, but it lacks moves on both sides. It's probably best mixed.

Archeops @ Leftovers
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Taunt

A special wall? Of course! It's not hurting anything, but it has potential to be annoying. Taunt set up sweepers, knock off their item, Dragon Tail them out, repeat.

Ok then. The world would be screwed... until you see the speed. Good thing it has sturdy! and shell smash lol.

Wow that pic took me forever to find on google...

Why use Deoxys-S when there is brokenly fast stuff like this? Because it's banned. Still, the sheer speed of Deoxys-S is enough to get it banned, but how about this, with the game's max? We'll see.

You could make it so that when pokemon are holding their Megastones then they get an Hp boost (or reduction) to make it equal to their speed after megavolving

Lets see...
Mega Manectric is the ultimate physical wall. 135/135 physical defense and intimidate...
-1 252+ Atk Life Orb Shuckle Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 142-168 (29.9 - 35.4%) -- 20% chance to 3HKO (that's pretty much the strongest physical attack in the game; eq (super effective) doesn't even 2HKO. Stall has received a huge buff.

What I really think will stand out in this metagame is trick room. You've got all the perfect abusers in Probopass, Shuckle, Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Steelix, Avalugg... the list goes on (I've always wanted a meta with a viable specs steelix in it)

I'd also like to hold a memorial service for our friend Aegislash, who got completely trolled by this meta.

Just because I don't wanna quickban stuff before a Meta is established (that's a hopeful is!), for now I'll unban Deoxys (all forms). If these prove broken, a ban can be established, but I feel outright banning them at the start reduces creativity. Also, for Megas, I think for now their HP should change upon evolution, as this gives a good reason to use them.

So what do these guys do?

Deoxys-N: 150 / 50 / 150 / 50 / 150 / 50 #inb4 why use Deoxys-N is any Meta... like ever? Though it still is a fantastic support pokemon, but...
Deoxys-A: 150 / 20 / 180 / 20 / 180 / 50 this is way better. A huge support movepool and access to SR and spikes with reliable recovery? Yes. Can't hurt anything worth a damn outside of Seismic Toss / Night Shade though.
Deoxys-D 90 / 160 / 70 / 160 / 70 / 50 Essentially Registeel with worse speed and a better movepool.
Deoxys-S 180 / 90 / 95 / 90 / 95 / 50 If I had to guess which Deoxys is the "worst" would it be this one? Maybe, but it can still wall stuff and hit respectively hard.

Also, Azumarill with 50 / 80 / 60 / 80 / 50 / 100? Yes please!
+6 252+ Atk Life Orb Huge Power Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-A: 253-298 (50.1 - 59.1%) -- 76.6% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-A: 145-172 (28.7 - 34.1%) -- 2.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
If Cosmic Power is used,
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. +1 252 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-A: 109-130 (21.6 - 25.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

This meta idea sounds very similar to an OM request I made. I guess you must have made it earlier than me. Rest assured, any meta where a Toxic Orb + Facade Blissey is viable ought to be fun.

Which ability would you run on that Blissey? Natural Cure?

The Deoxys forms are broken imo, especially Deoxys A, but don't ban it since Deoxys-A is a huge boon to stall!

EDIT: meant to say Deoxys-A, not Deoxys-D!

with the deo forms i will say its a ban 1 ban all thing. You cant eliminate 1 in here since they are the only way to balance each other. deo-d sucks btw, just use registeel. DeoA and N are just completely utterly broken. 150/180/180 is like stalls dream. what in the meta can 2hko it and is viable? trick room shuckle? oh yeah stone edge doesnt even 2hko. Better use an easy to switch into bug move. rip everything but stall. have fun Adrian. Seriously 150/180/180 is just ridiculous, just toxic + recover or something to get rid of its own status is enough to rule the meta.

Ok, should I leave Deoxys-D and -S unbanned? It seems like Deo-A (and to an extent, -N) are both broken and centralizing, so I'll give them the boot.

deo-s is almost as dangerous as A, it can tank hits well and hit back very hard. 180/95/95 is almost silly, it has comparable bulk to deo-d in real.

there is not much of a reason to run deo-d, its slower registeel with less bulk. its really kind of outclassed unlike the other forms. i do feel that if you ban 3 it would help to ban all deo forms completely, lest we get stall people complaining (which will happen anyways). Dont worry stall people, remember that hp and defenses help stack bulk and as a result you still have a monsterus advantage in this meta.

While those calcs are good and true, you forget what makes shuckle the best trick room abuser ever: Contrary!

Oh No! It's Shuckle! (Shuckle) @ Life Orb / Focus Sash
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Hp / 4 Def
Brave (0 iv speed)
- Superpower
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Using Mega-Manectric...
+1 252+ Atk Shuckle Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 328-386 (69.1 - 81.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252+ Atk Shuckle Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 246-289 (51.8 - 60.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252+ Atk Shuckle Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 196-231 (41.3 - 48.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 252+ Atk Shuckle U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 171-202 (36 - 42.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

And If you can get a Superpower off (and priority is removed)
+2 252+ Atk Shuckle Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 434-512 (91.5 - 108%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Shuckle Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 325-384 (68.5 - 81%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Shuckle Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 260-307 (54.8 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Shuckle U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Manectric: 229-270 (48.3 - 56.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

So Trick Room is a win condition with Shuckle?
