[SET COMMENTS]
Rhyperior is a solid Stealth Rock user and defensive pivot in the UU tier. It provides a valuable Electric-type immunity, acting as one of the best checks to Toxtricity, and in general brings a more offensive approach compared to its main competition in Gigalith with a massive Attack stat and STAB EdgeQuake. Stone Edge is usually preferred for its higher power, but Rock Blast can be useful to help with Polteageist and the rare Substitute Salazzle. Toxic is used to cripple the likes of Rotom-W, Flygon, and Tsareena as they switch in. However, Swords Dance can be used instead to further bolster Rhyperior's menacing Attack stat and help break through the likes of Galarian Weezing and Bronzong should Rhyperior's longevity not be needed in a match, while Megahorn is a valuable coverage move that deals a ton of damage to incoming Grass-types like Celebi, Tsareena, and Rotom-C as well as Psychic-types like Necrozma and Reuniclus. Heavy Slam is also an option to ease the matchup against Fairy-types like Gardevoir and Sylveon. Lastly, Protect is also an option in this slot to scout for Choice item users like Flygon and Darmanitan and grab some extra Leftovers recovery. Leftovers is the preferred item for passive recovery. Rhyperior's EV spread is used to grant it as much special bulk as possible to adequately check special Electric- and Flying-types. An Adamant nature gives Rhyperior an easier time wearing down foes, whereas a Careful nature lets Rhyperior more easily take Noivern's Draco Meteor and Toxtricity's Boomburst.
Sylveon helps with the Noivern matchup, as Rhyperior is a rather shaky check to it; it also brings Heal Bell to the table, which allows Rhyperior to switch into Incineroar much more freely, and soft checks Fighting-types like Pangoro. Checks to Cobalion such as Doublade, Noivern, and Water-types like Mantine, Milotic, and Rotom-W are very much appreciated as well, as especially Shuca Berry variants can come in rather freely; Noivern, Mantine, and Rotom-W also provide useful Defog support. Conversely, switch-ins to Water-types, such as Roserade, Tsareena, and Celebi, are also great allies, as Water-types have a very easy time gaining momentum against Rhyperior; these three also deal with Heliolisk and Rotom-W, which are Electric-types that Rhyperior can't check, and in return they appreciate Rhyperior checking Noivern. Teammates like Noivern, Cobalion, Incineroar, and Escavalier are also useful for checking the Grass-types that annoy Rhyperior. The first two deserve a special mention thanks to their valuable Speed tier, while Incineroar also helps against Chandelure and can deal with Reuniclus and Bronzong for Rhyperior.
