Riot Shields(OU RMT)

Helloooooooooo, Smogon! This is my second team, and the first one to be rated here. My first team was decent, but it underperformed once I started going up against better players, and some Pokemon were clearly better than others.I aim to correct this, every one of these is a high tier megamon, and each plays a different but equal role. So without further ado:

Spr_1y_142.png
Aerodactyl @Focus Sash
Pressure
*Jolly*
4 HP/252 spd./252 atk.
Stealth Rock
Taunt
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Purpose: It's suicide lead Aerodactyl. Seriously, is there anything else to say? It lays down teh rocks, and then it dies. I don't really like the idea of a suicide lead, but that's the shape of the metagame. Rocks are vital, and you're crippled without them. If the metagame ever shifts away from these types of leads, then I'll happily embrace it, but for now I'm just going to use him as is.

Spr_2s_121.png
Starmie @Light Clay
Natural Cure
*Jolly*
4 de./252 HP/ 252 spd.
Reflect
Light Screen
Recover
Rapid spin/Surf?
Purpose: The dual screens that Starmie lays down are the "riot shields", and are what makes this team tick. Using these as protection my sweepers can cause twice the damage that they usually would, and when they run out Starmie can come back to lay them down again due to it's bulkiness. I could replace Rapid Spin with Surf, since Aerodactyl might be able to stop enemy rocks with taunt, but I think I'll stick with spinning.

Spr_4p_392.png
Infernape @Life Orb
Blaze
*Hasty*
64 atk./ 252 sp. atk./ 198 spd.
Hidden Power(Ice)
Close Combat
Fire Blast
Grass Knot
Purpose: This thing is...awesoooooome. Seriously, my old team had so much trouble with it that my only option was to paralyze it. Anything that it doesen't kill is going to take some major damage regardless. I can't wait to use it and start raping everything in sight.

Spr_2s_212.png
Scizor @Life Orb
Technician
Adamant
252 HP/252 atk./ 4 spd.
Swords Dance
Pursuit/U-Turn
Brick Break
Bullet Punch
Purpose: A hybrid of the two most popular Scizor sets, swords dancer and revenge killer. It has the offense of SDer, but either pursuit or U-Turn provide the functions of revenge killing. I'm hoping to be able to scare Pokemon like Tyranitar away, and then swords dance. Also, the HP EVS are to make it a bit more bulky, in spirit of the team.

Spr_2g_130.png
Gyarados @Leftovers
Intimidate
*Adamant*
156 HP/108 atk./100 de./144 spd.
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Taunt
Purpose: Dragon Dancing is deadly, one of them equals major damage, and two equals an unhindered sweep. I chose 'Dos over 'Mence for a number of reasons. 1: He's a great Scizor counter, due to resisting every move it has and having inimidate. 2: It's bulkier than Salamence, which works well with dual screens.

Spr_4d_466.png
Electivire @Life Orb
Motor Drive
*Adamant*
4 HP/252 atk./252 spd.
ThunderPunch
IcePunch
Cross Chop
Earthquake
Purpose: While it's best not to cancel out Gyarados's DDs, this serves as an contingency against anyone who does. This is one 'mon that I'm almost sure will be replaced, and it's mostly there because I couldn't think of something to take it's place.

Problems:

Salamence: Even with all of the Ice moves that I have, he's still a major threat. Anyone with half a brain would make sure that Weavile's gone before they send him out, which means that I'll have to hold my cards close.

MixApe: Is also a problem, If it isn't killed by Weavile or my own MixApe then everyone in my team's going to take some real damage.

Lack of Support: No Thunderwave or Will o' Wisp makes darthteej exposed to sweepers.

Asking too much?: This team requires some prediction that might be too advanced for a little n00blet like me, one of the other reasons that I want some more support. Those status conditons that I lack could also cause some problems, which means that I might consider something with Heal Bell or Armoatherpy.

NOTICE: Keep in mind that I'm also having this team rated at Pokecommunity, so any changes not suggested here will probably be from there.

Aerodactyl should be Jolly (+Spd, -SAtk). Timid nature is decreasing your Attack, which you don't want.

In my experiences, running HP Ice > Nasty Plot on MixApe is the better option. It grants you perfect coverage, hitting a whole bunch of Pokemon for super effective damage. Nasty Plot really doesn't help you much.

I might come back tomorrow for a more in depth rate. I've got to leave for soccer practice atm.

Hello!

Well first of all, as Blackhawk said, Aerodactyl wants Jolly nature, not Timid.

Now, your team isnt the kind of team that really needs Screens support, so why not removing Starmie? I mean, Starmie is a cool pokemon and all, but its basically not doing anything special for you. Instead of Starmie, i think you should use a Latias. Latias is a great all-around pokemon that gives you a check to Mixape which your team is pretty weak to, specially if Starmie goes down. ScarfLatias can work as your revenge killer for things like DD Mence, DD Gyarados and even other scarfers like Heatran or Rotom.

Latias @Choice Scarf - Timid
252 Speed / 252 Sp A. / 4 HP
· Draco Meteor
· Surf
· Thunderbolt
· Trick

Pretty simple, Trick is for stall members like Blissey or Vaporeon that may be annoying, while the other 3 moves let you hit a lot of things decently, which is great for a scarfer. Beware of Pursuiters like Scizor and Tyranitar, though.

Infernape seems fine, although i would really consider using HP Ice on it, also, pump it like 8 more EVs in speed, last thing you want it speed ties with other Infernapes, and this ensures you will get the upper hand vs people that use exactly what the analysis suggests. Oh i was forgetting it, change the nature to Naive. Infernape dislikes the lose in Defense because it has a harder time taking Bullet Punches and Extremespeeds.

Now onto Weavile. Sorry, but Weavile isnt as viable as it was before, mainly because of all the bullet punches and scarfers around, making Weavile's life impossible. Instead of Weavile, i suggest you get a Scizor. Another Salamence check thanks to the ridiculous power of Bullet Punch, and U-Turn is always a very useful move for all the free switches you get. Best bet would be the CB set in the analysis, you can play with the EVs a bit to survive different things, like taking better ice beams or less from an outrage.

Gyarados is a great pokemon, and i can see it working pretty well on you team, but not with that set exactly. I would recommend using the Bulky Gyara set in the analysis, because as of now, an SD Scizor or SD Lucario can cause a lot of trouble, and Gyarados does a great job at stoping them thanks to Intimidate. Gyarados will also work as another Ground/Fight resist, which is pretty much a must on every team, while still giving you the ability of doing a lot of damage.

Heres the set:

Gyarados @ Leftovers - Adamant
156 HP / 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe
~ Dragon Dance
~ Waterfall
~ Stone Edge
~ Taunt

Simple thing here. Taunt stops Skarmory and company of phazing you, which means you have another stallbreaker on your team. Stone Edge works as a big hit for another Gyarados and Salamences, which cause trouble thanks to Intimidate. Waterfall is STAB and Dragon Dance lets you sweep. The EVs help you take hits better, while still hiting hard and outspeeding things you really want to outspeed, which is called Gengar and Latias.

Now i see you want to replace Electivire, and i agree with you. Electivire isnt very effective and something way better can take its place. I think Rotom will work great on this team mainly because it offers you another Lucario counter, and a great pokemon overall. The thing to pick is the set, and theres one set i think that may work greatly for you.

Rotom-A @ Leftovers - Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Speed
· Substitute
· Shadow Ball
· Thunderbolt / Charge Beam
· Will O Wisp / HP Fighting

Ok heres the deal, Rotom can either be a substitute "wall" or a Boosting sweeper. First one means you will beat Lucario, Scizor, and other physical attackers easilier, because of Will O Wisp. Second one works better if you want t osweep with Rotom, rather than use it as a team player. I use Max speed because im a Speed freak and love to outspeed everything, but you can move some EVs to HP if you feel like you lost too many bulkyness.

Not related to the rate, but i recommend you expand your descriptions, mainly because mods will probably lock your thread if you dont expand them, as it is implied in the rules. Why did you pick a pokemon, what does it do for your team, synergy, why the moves, etc. are a good way to do descriptions.

Thats pretty much everything and good luck in the future!

Problems:

DD Gyarados (bulky or not)

How to fix:

Without any source of attacks for Starmie, the first thing I would recommend is a revamp version or Starmie. This Starmie in particular is capable of checking Gyarados, Infernape, and provide Rapid Spin.

Starmie
@ Leftovers
Timid Nature (Spe+ / Atk-)
136 HP / 156 Def / 216 Spe

- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

A solid revamp for your Starmie which can patch up your Gyarados weakness and have a solid Rapid Spinner in the team. Since Scizor can run circles on Weavile and co. Gyarados will be your main switch-in, this is why Rapid Spin is essential on this team. Thunderbolt KOs it and Surf KOs Infernape. Recover for survivability.

Other things you might want to consider is a the moveset Dragon Dance / Waterfall / Earthquake / Stone Edge for Gyarados. Also you generally want Life orb on Weavile to provide good damage while Focus Sash is hard to maintain with sr around. gl.
