Ok so after doing find battles on PO I ran across a stoutland. Now im sure you are like wtf a stoutland those things suck. I was the same way but under sand he is a boss. Oh and the rocket thing in the title is bcuz in like less than a day i gained 200 ladder points with this team and this team barely looses, loosing like 3 times i think so far. So I was wonderig if there was anyway to improve it and make it more refined. I have been unable to do anything and need some help so here it is :).
Team Building Process:
So of course I start wit stoutland.
Since stoutland can only really shine in the sand then comes ttar.
Then landorus comes in since I just love him and with a scarf he acts as a great revenger.
Then i needed a wall tht could resist stoutlands and ttars fighting weakness.
I then saw a rotom-w causing problems for my team so I put celebi in as even a hp fire does like 30%.
And since I think tht rotom-w is one of the best pokes in the game i decided to put him as my sixth member.
EVs: 220 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
My sp defensive tank. He can absorb nearly any sp attack in sand, barring water/ fighting sp attacks tht can easily be absorbed by celebi. Using this bulk I can easily set up rocks. This makes weathers like drought and hail less willing to switch in. i hav pursuit for trapping and killing latios. Superower lets me ko other ttars. And stone edge is where the toss up is. It was either tht or crunch and I felt like stone edge gives me more power and coverage. 32 speed evs let me outspeed most ttars as nearly all ttars have little to no speed investments. This guy has goo wall synergy with skarmory.
Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
The perfect revenge killer. In sand his ground/ rock attacks do huge amounts of damage and hp ice let me kill all genies and some dragons. u-turn is perfect for scouting and killing latios' if ttar didnt manage to take it down. Between this guy and stoutland I can effectively break countless walls due to sheer power and speed.
Stoutland (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Return/ Retaliate
- Crunch
- Fire Fang
- Wild Charge
The star of the team. Whenever a person thinks of a sand rush user they think of excadrill, but with landorus and ttar i just have to big of a weakness to water. This makes drizzle teams/ rotom-w able to walk rite over me. So this guy causes huge amounts of damage and half the people out there dont know about his ability. His attacks get great coverage and a stab banded return with max happiness does a ton of damage, easily 2hkos gliscor. I am currently debating between return/ retaliate as return gives more reliable power while retaliate is more circumstantial.
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SAtk / 144 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Such a great pokemon. Pain split keeps him healthy and willowisp cripples troubing physical attackers. This evspread also gives him a good amount ofbulk letting him survive everything but stab draco meteors/ outrages. Between his two stabs of thunderbolt and hydro pump he causes huge amounts of damage and like other rotom-w's is a force to be feared. He is my main threat to a skarmory, hich would otherwise wall my team.
Skarmory (M) @ Shed Shell
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Roost
My main physical wall tht takes care of fightng types. Also because of skarms nature its really easy to set up spikes on switches. This makes it even harder for other weathers to come in and lets me sowly wittle ther hp down. Brave bird stops me from being taunt bait and roost keeps him healthy. Whirlwind lets him phaze out pokes.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 240 SAtk / 36 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Thunder Wave
- Psychic
- Recover
Earlier this gen I was very underwhelmed by celebi. But man does he do his job, he takes out fighting types skarm cant and is really my only check to rotom-w tht would other wise hurt this team.... badly. thunder wave lets him play support while psychic/ leaf storm lets him do huge amounts of damage. I tried a nasty plot set but I was always switching celebi because of his weaknesses so they would always go to waste. This set seems perfect for him.
Testing:
standard def wall hippowdon- in place of skarmory
Would ensure tht sand is up almost all the time, but im not sure ive never had both ttr and hippowdon on the same team, isnt tht a bit redundent? If someone could give me insight tht would b greatly appreciated
