RM Trick Room Team! First team I've made since Diamond and Pearl

Introduction:

First off...Im a noob to 5th gen I know! :D

Second off...Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums but I've been using smogon for a very long time. I recently got back into battling and decided I wanted to create a team. This is my first shot at 5th gen and my first shot at Trick Room. The last time I made a team was back when only Diamond and Pearl was back and it was a nice Rain Dance Team.

Oh and btw Im a fan of shinies :D

The Process

Well, Reuniclus is my favorite 5th generation pokemon! I really wanted to make a team around it.

I needed a quick lead which can set up trick room while annoying my opponent...Whimsicott. Prankster. His Quickness. and His Cuteness is what makes him my 3rd favorite 5th gen.

Ahh, my all time favorite pokemon, Dragonite! After looking over trick roomers, I wanted a strong sweeper. Then it hit me...Dragonite! His speed is lower than most other dragons which makes him perfect. Not to mention his new Multiscale ability, high attack, and great move pool.

Now, now I started thinking about plausible threats. First thing that came to mind..Scizor and Tyranitar. Those two beasts would rape my reuniclus. Lucarios fighting typness should take care of that.

First time I looked at chandelure, I was like "Sick pokemon! I love it! To bad the stats aren't so great." I didnt realise i skipped over the special attack stat. 2nd time I looked at it...."HOLY CRAP." This poke became my 3rd and final trick roomer. Its fireness will help with any pesky scizors, bronzongs, metagrosses and such.

Finally! My favorite eeveelution next to espeon! Vaporeon is bulky, slow, and has a pretty good spatk stat. Perfect. Ill be able to deal with Heatrans and similar threats!

Overview

images

Whimsicott @ Leftovers/ Focus Band
Ability: Prankster
EVs: (252 Speed, 252 HP, 4 SpD)
Nature: Timid
-Trick Room
-Substitute
-Leech Seed
-Uturn

The main idea here was to quickly set up trick room, and then U-turn out my next pokemon. Substitute and leech seed is if I want to troll before I TR. I was also thinking this could be used as a last resort pokemon just Incase the rest of my team dies out, which is why it has such high speed for a trick room team, that and the fact that I want to start trick room sweeping as quickly as possible. This pokemon can also be switched into when I quickly need to resetup Trick room!

Vaporeon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: (212 Def, 252 SpAtk, 44 SpDef)
IV's: (0 Speed)
Nature: Quiet
-Surf/ Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-HP Electric/HP Fighting/ Signal Beam
-Wish

A nice sweeper which is also pretty damn bulky! Surf is more reliable than hydro pump, but hydro pump can OHKO a specially defensive skarmory. Ice Beam and HP electric for bolt beam coverage. I was thinking about HP fighting
to cover any annoying Scizors, tyranitars, or bronzongs. Wish for emergency healing. The EVs and nature are set for maximum damage input while still maintaining bulk.

Lucario @ Focus Sash
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: (252 atk, 200 Def, 52 SpDef, 4 HP)
IVs: (0 Speed)
Nature: Brave
-Close Combat
-Ice Punch
-Crunch/ Stone Edge
-Extremespeed/ Bullet Punch

I was going for a set that can sweep quickly while trying to survive as long as possible, which is why I put some EVs into its defenses. Close Combat will take out Tyranitar, Bronzong, Scizor and other threats. Ice punch for pesky dragon and flyers. Extremespeed for just incase trick room runs out. Stone edge can pick off pokemon like gyrados or thundorus while crunch hits ghost pokemon pretty hard.

Chandelure @ Flame Plate
Ability: Flash Fire/ Shadow Tag
EV's: (252 SpAtk, 252 HP, 4 Def)
IVs: (0 Speed)
Nature: Quiet
-Heat Wave/ Overheat/ Flame Thrower
-Trick Room
-Incinerate/ Will-o-Wisp
-Shadow Ball

An absolute Special Sweeping monster. Dual Stab Shadow Ball and Heat Wave. My 2nd trick room user. 0 speed IVs and quiet nature allow me to outspeed most things while trick room is in affect. Will-O-Wisp will allow me to burn any of the pesky bug or steel pokemon that threaten my theam. Incinerate can also be used as it is more powerful but less reliable. Flash Fire will increase the power of my fire moves, while Shadow Tag will leave my opponent locked in. Both have their pluses and minuses. I wasn't exactly to sure on what item to use so I put in a flame plate to furthermore increase the power of my fire moves.

Dragonite @ Rocky Helmet/ Shell Bell
Ability: Multi Scale
EVs: (252 atk, 100 Def, 100 SpDef, 52 HP)
IVs: (0 Speed)
Nature: Brave
-Dragon Tail/ Dragon Claw/ Outrage
-Fire Punch
-Extremespeed
-Earthquake

Multi Scale Dragonite...Beast. Maximum attack with some EVs in defenses to take some hits. Multi Scale will help it survive an Ice attack that would otherwise kill it at full health. Dragon Tail can be used for when a pokemon gets to annoying. Otherwise Dragon Claw for reliability or Outrage for Power. Fire punch for Ice and Steel threats. As for the Item, I honestly wasn't to sure, I kinda just thought of two random things. I could use some help here!

Reuniclus @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Gaurd
EVs: (252 SpAtk, 172 HP, 32 Def, 52 SpDef)
IVs: (0 Speed)
Nature: Quiet
-Trick Room
-Shadow Ball
-Psychic/Psyshock
-Focus Blast

And finally! The bread and butter. The big cheese. Yea okay. 3rd and final trick room sweeper! High SpAtk for smooth sweeping and bulky enough to take hits. 0 speed IVs will make it one of the quickest things out there while trickroom is in effect. Psychic/Psyshock(still weighing out which i like better) for STAB. Focus Blast to take care of Scizor or Tyranitar. and Finally Life Orb for stronger attacks without recoil thanks to Magic Gaurd.

Well Yea, Tell Me what you think, and give me suggestions! Still testing it out and its worked so far. And im still reviewing my threats but Ive covered the main ones...Scizor, Tyranitar, and Bronzong. Thank you for any help!

I just noticed, if you are U-turning out of there after a trick room with Whimsicott, prankster won't kick in and chances are they will be slower than you, meaning Whimsicott is going to get destroyed

I just realized that, I'm not sure what would work better, taking out the speed EVs, OR just replacing U-turn with Encore or something.

Your items are all over the place..
Yes i know...i really need help there. Assistance please :)

Dragonite, luc, and MAYBE chandy are too fast for a trick room team, usually.

Also, you dont have much of a counter for opposing reuniclus. You may wanna try out escavalier. Absolute monster on a trick room team. Also, nasty plot slowking is always good. That could help over vaporeon.

Im still testing out the vaporeon, but I will definitely try out Escavalier...lucario sometimes is a bit fast against opposing trick room teams...

Choice Band Escavalier is a boss. Just spam Megahorn and watch things die. The only other move worth caring about is Pursuit, to kill Latios while he tries to retreat.

Also, I'd recommend Leftovers on Dragonite and Vaporeon, a Life Orb on Lucario (should really swap this guy out though), and a Life Orb on Chandelure.

Several of your pokemon seem much too fast for Trick Room, particularly Lucario (although to a certain extent Dragonite and Chandelure as well).
