RMT #1

Ok this is my first team ever! I've tested it on Shoddy with changes etc. and this is the Team that works best. It's pretty OU but it's what works good with me. Changes in bold.

In Depth

hippowdon.png

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Impish / Sand Stream
252 HP / 16 Atk / 152 Def / 88 SpD
Earthquake
Slack Off
Stealth Rock
Ice Fang

This is a pretty standard Physical Wall Hippo Thingo but it does its' job. Stealth Rock for that FS neutralisation and with sandstorm helps a lot. Slack Off for recovery. Earthquake is for damage and Ice Fang has replaced Roar for flying type damage.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Calm / Pressure
252 HP / 220 Sp.Def / 36 Spe
Thunderbolt
Heat Wave
Hidden Power Grass
Roost

Has been made Specially Defensive because Heatran / Gyarados can take care of Scizor all day. T-Bolt > Discharge for power and Heatran has a status inducing move. Hidden Power for Swamperts and other Waters, Heat Wave for awesomness and Roost for health.

gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adamant / Intimidate
156 HP / 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Taunt

I love this guy. Taunt is unbelievably awesome at the moment and I exploit that. Stone Edge is for other Gyara and occasionaly Zapdos if I can get a DD in, which usually happens. Intimidate is great for the team and I think he's right at home here.

heatran.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Modest / Flash Fire
252 HP / 16 SpA / 240 SpD
Toxic
Substitute
Fire Blast
Earth Power

A very nice Pokemon indeed. Works great with Scizor and Jirachi because of Flash Fire and almost everyone expects a Scarfed version instead. I sub on the switch and Wisp the Pokemon coming in or attack it. At first I had a Scarf version but this is much better with the burn support added to sandstorm.

jirachi.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Impish / Serene Grace
240 HP / 56 Atk / 76 Def / 136 Spe
U-Turn
Iron head
Wish
Protect

A very nice Wish passer I have here. U-Turn is good with Wish or to flee and do damage. Iron head has replaced Zen headbutt due to more accuracy and 60% Flinch rate. Protect is now in place of Light Screen due to Zapdos being Specially Defensive.
scizor.png

Scizor @ Life Orb
Adamant / Technician
32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Swords Dance
X-Scissor
Bullet Punch
Superpower

What OU Team doesn't have Scizor? I rarely have to use him but when I do he works wonders cleaning up. Due to advice I have changed Roost to X-Scissor for coverage and Superpower instead of Brick Break for Heatran OHKOs.

Well that's my Team. I really appreciate help with it. Also Trick Rotom-H really destroys these guys but this is meant for wifi as well as shoddy, but still help with that please.

Very nice team, all pokemon work well together and have great synergy. Iron Head > Zen Headbutt on Jirachi for the 60% chance at flinch. Fire Blast > Overheat on any nonchoiced heatran IMO. If you feel Heatran is lacking in power take some sp. def evs and put them in sp. atk. I don't like your EV spread on hippowdon I think in the current metagame Max/Max Hp and Defense is better (I know those EVs are standard but I believe that there are better spreads).

Atm a blissey with Toxic, Flamethrower and Seismic toss can seriously hurt your team, but I guess Jirachi can do okay. If trick Rotom becomes a huge problem just maximise Heatrans Sp. attack and speed and it won't care if it gets tricked a scarf.

Anyway pretty cool team, nice work.

I think you should go Calm on Zapdos. Heatran and Gyarados already wall Scizor up and down all day long, so Zapdos isn't needed to do just that, and can focus on handling special threats, like Starmie as Marcell said.
For Heatran, I would go with Fire Blast/Flamethrower over Overheat. With a Sub-variant, you might sometimes want to attack several times after each other, and then the SpAtt-drop isn't very beneficial. Also, with low PP Overheat and Fire Blast can easily be PP-stalled, while Flamethrower lasts a while longer.
For Jirachi, if flinching is your goal, Iron Head is a better choice, as it has 60% flinch-rate, rather than 40. Also, it has 100% Accuracy, while Zen Headbutts 90 often tend to miss in crucial situations.
Also, if you replace Thunderbolt with Discharge on Zapdos, you might get some handy Paralyze, as your team is quite slow.

Apart from that, it seems like a very solid team, with few obvious weaknesses.

I can't stress this enough, Superpower > Brick Break, unless you are using Scizor in Ubers. Superpower OHKOs Heatran and Magnezone switchins, which Brick Break doesn't do. Superpower also allows you to 2HKO Skarmory. You shouldn't be using Brick Break on most pokemon, as neutral Bullet Punch does more than neutral Brick Break. Unless you are faced with a lot of Metagross / Jirachi, then Superpower. Even so, X-Scissor should replace Roost because between Heatran, Zapdos, Gyarados, Salamence, Magnezone, etc. when are you going to get a chance to Roost AND Swords Dance?

I'm going to agree with Orion that Calm and Sp. Def is way more important for you on Zapdos than Bold and Physical. As for Zen Headbutt vs Ironb Head, I think Zen Headbutt is fair game as it will allow you to hit a lot of the things that Iron Head and has better coverage in point, it still also has a niced 40% flinch chance that you can abuse, you team isn't too scared of Tyranitar (You can play around Band versions + Finish off DD versions with Scizor) so its a matter of taste really, do you really want the KO on those Poison types or those Rock types. In a totally non-situational sense the coverage provided by Steel is marginally better but comes at the expense of hitting things like bulky waters, who you have "OK" coverage against with the Specially Defensive Zapdos, but they do kind of walk over you a bit. So I would go with keeping Zen Headbutt for the purpose of Stalling Bulky Waters but its up to you.

Back to addressing the bulky Waters you could run SubTran with Toxic rather than Will-o-Wisp so that you can hit those Bulky Waters hard when they come in and SubStall. Will-o-Wisp Tran never made a load of sense to me as a lot of common switch ins don't mind it (excepting Tyranitar of course) but as I have explained you have decent enough coverage against Tyranitar. I would also suggest changing Overheat to Fire Blast so that you can stay in longer, I don't like the idea of having to switch out for no reason other that lowering your own stat, when you have a sub, seems like a waste of a sub to me, so run Fire Blast, or if you don't like it's low PP go with Flamethrower instead. Agreeing also that SuperPower > Brick Break, you hit Heatran in particular a lot harder.

With Special Zapdos I think you can afford to remove Light Screen from Jirachi, why not run Body Slam in there, it will allow you to hit sweeper switch ins hard with a 60% paralysis rate, if you don't want to do that you could also try out Iron Head or Protect, Iron Head will provide you with more flinching and a little more coverage, whereas Protect will help you with actually healing Jirachi =)

I hope some of this helped, and good luck with your team

Thanks for the advice guys. Most things you suggested are changed but i'll keep that spread for Hippo at the moment unless there is a great need.

I would use Ice Fang over Roar on Hippowdon, you don't want to get walled by Aerodactyl leads and your team doesn't REALLY require phazing anyway.

Personally, the scizor I fear most are the more defensively eved ones with roost, although, I don't typically run magnezone or heatran, and this may be a decisive influencing decision, but from my experience playing against scizzors, it appears that roost ones tend to have a much easier time ultimately pulling off a sweep.
