RMT: FerroBro

FerroBro

This is a team that revolves around the defensive core of Ferrothorn and Slowbro. They work great togther and cover each others weaknesses quite well.

Edits are in Red

So I made some HUGE changes after a night of play testing.

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Fire Blast
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave

The Bro half of FerroBro. A contender for my favorite pokemon of all time. After some testing, I found 3 attacks instead of Slack Off let him beat who he needs to beat. Fire Blast for Ferrothorn and Scizor, Psychic for Breloom and Conckeldurr, and Scald for STAB, fire types and Gliscor. Takes the fire and fighting attacks aimed at Ferrothorn.

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Spikes

Standard hazard layer. Runs Thunder Wave in tandem with Slowbro to paralyze entire teams with the switches they force. Takes the Electric, Ghost and Dark attacks aimed at Slowbro.

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Facade
- Swords Dance
- Protect

My bulky sweeper. I love this set. He can also take the fighting and ground attacks aimed at my team like a pro. He can also absorb status. Using Facade over Ice fang means I get walled by Gengar, but that is just something I have to work around. Also I can't wait to put Roost on this set!

669.png

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Quick Attack

Changed him from double boosting to choice scarf. He acts as my revenge killer and late game sweeper

248.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 136 HP / 252 Atk / 120 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Ice Beam

I added Tyranitar to help add passive damage and to nullify other Weather. He also has the added benifit of trapping and killing problems like Latios. Stone Edge is for STAB and to lay the hurt on everything that doesn't resist it. Superpower is for Ferrothorn and other steel types. I decided to run Ice Beam to hit Gliscor who think they can wall the CB set.

Alakazam (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute

Added him as a late game sweeper immune to weather, hazards and status. He dies very fast though, so I was thinking if replacing him with CM Reuniclus. Zam appreciates the Twave support, so that he can outspeed strong scarf users.

So that is the team. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there. Nice team. Since you haven't received a rate so far, I'll give it a shot.

First off, I notice your team has difficulty facing Offensive Life Orb Celebi using Leaf Storm and Hidden Power Fire. None of your team members can adequately face one, since Leaf Storm takes out Rotom-W, Gliscor, Slowbro and Terrakion, while Hidden Power Fire nails Ferrothorn and Scizor. Celebi also tend to use Recover, so taking it down is hard. To fix this problem, I would recommend you try out a Specially Defensive Jirachi (see set below) instead of your current Ferrothorn. Jirachi can easily come in on a Leaf Storm, and use Wish to get a big majority of its health back. It is also able, thanks to its great bulk, to tank a few Hidden Power Fire from Celebi, and then use Wish again to get your health back. Jirachi can also utilize Stealth Rock to get your hazard up, and plays a somewhat similar role to Ferrothorn. It also provides Wish support for your teammate, which turns a weakened teammate into a pretty healthy one, which is useful. Body Slam provides a paralysis support, like Ferrothorn, and it also deals a good amount of damage. Iron Head is cool to get flinches, which lets it take out many unlucky opponents. Specially Defensive Jirachi can also tank Draco Meteors very well, making Latios a less big of a threat. It relieves Scizor from its pressure to tank mulititudes of Draco Meteors. Also, Jirachi and Slowbro have a pretty good synergy together as well, as Jirachi tanks Grass and Dark-type moves Slowbro loathes, while Slowbro can come in on Fire-type moves aimed towards Jirachi. This is a cool team, and good luck!

Summary of Change(s):

Ferrothorn ---> Specially Defensive Jirachi

Hey, I'm just going to say that I love how you're using FerroBro. Slowbro is just such a boss, and works great in tandem with Ferro. I would recommend that you make the team more defensive, or at least balanced though. It seems like Heatran with Stealth Rock in place of Alakazam would do a great job on your team, and then putting Gyro Ball on Ferro in place of SR. This gives you a nice FWG core that works well with T-Tar and Gliscor as a balanced team.
Last changes I'd recommend are to make T-tar scarfed and then make Terrakion the sub-SD variant so that he can sweep late game and not get revenged by scarfers due to the sub.
I hope these changes helped, and it looks like a good team! Good luck!
