RMT (Future Wi-Fi Team)

I've been lurking around for a little bit, and I've finally tried to make my own team. Don't worry, this team does have some thought around it...I tried not use too many standards that everyone is complaining about.

dpmfa121.png

Starmie@Life Orb
Timid
252 Speed, 252 SAtk, 6 HP
Surf
Ice Beam
Grass Rope
Recover
Psychic for Heracross and Rapid to get rid of Stealth Rock/Spikes. I don't think I need Thunderbolt because I counter Gyarados pretty well enough, imo. Changed Adherence Glasses to Life Orb.

dpmfa470.png

Leafeon@Leftovers
Jolly
196 HP, 192 Speed, 106 Def, 16 Atk
Leaf Blade
Swords Dance
Baton Pass
Aerial Ace
I love the design, but I hate the pokemon's name...much better off as Vineon, imo. Obviously, this passes Sword Dances...I think the moveset is fairly standard. Having trouble with the last move though; Sub is generally a good move, Grasswhistle sleeps the inevitable Skarmory, Infernape, and anything that resists Grass switch in, and Aerial helps with Heracross. EVs allow for Max Lefties recovery, 301 Speed

dpmfa130.png

Gyarados@Leftovers
Adamant
112 HP, 20 Atk, 144 Def, 232 Speed
Dragon Dance
Ice Fang
Earthquake
Taunt
Tochukaso' EVs. Kinda torn between Taunt and Thunder Wave still. Receives Swords Dances if need be. Bog standard, blahblahblah...

dpmfsa233.png

Porygon2@Leftovers
Relaxed
252 HP, 164 Def, 92 SAtk
Recover
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Thunder Wave/Protect
One of my favorites...anyways, can't change the nature on this thing. I have a shiny one with a Relaxed nature, it has flawless SAtk and pretty good HP and Def, IIRC (both above 20, I think), so the max HP is needed. Thunder Wave if Gyarados decides to go with Taunt. If Gyarados has Thunder Wave, P2 Signal Beam for Celebi (though it won't be prevelant), Toxic for general status, Thief to screw over some EndRevver or something, and Protect to scout for moves. It's also my DDGyarados counter, thanks to how Trace works. Despite this being seen around here somewhere else on this forum, I thought of this by myself. I just never really had a team to go with it. ^^

dpmfa232.png

Donphan@Leftovers
Impish
252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Atk
Earthquake
Ice Pebble
Roar/Knock Off
Stealth Rock
Um, my wannabe physical wall. I read somewhere that Donphan need 252 HP and 248 Def EVs to survive 3 Flare Drives from Infernape. It can also do a good number to some DDMence's, DDNites, and Garchomps. With Stealth Rock, it should be able to KO Mence and maybe Nite, but I'm not sure, I don't know where to find a damage calculator. Rapid Spin gets away Stealth Rock, and Knock Off is good move. No need for Rest in D/P's hyper-offensive metagame, imo. Receives SDs as well. I'm not really sure what it could Roar away, so I don't know. This thing needs five spaces for move.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
Levitate
252 HP, 208 Def, 34 SpA, 16 SpD
Light Screen
Moonlight
Ice Beam
Psychic
Tochukaso's Cresseria set, but it's basically Heracross/Tyranitar food. It's my special wall.

So, yeah, there you have it. Thanks for the help.

I'd put thunderbolt on Starmie and let Dorphan spin. Gyrados would be interesting lead because you can always switch to Dorphan if you see something fast and electric.

Psychic might be nice on Starmie, just for Heracross coverage.

Surfs destroys T-tar, and hurts Pert enough. You'll have a hard time with CBcham, or even ASCham, who hurts this team quite badly. You may want to put Aerial Ace on Leafeon, who might be able to switch into a Thunderpunch going for Gyara or Starmie.

TTar? Whoops, I meant Milotic. I guess I was too bent on having something to beat it. Just curious, but Grass Rope has 100 BP on Milotic, right? I prefer it over TBolt becuase I'd hate to paralyze or something to activate Marvel Scale...

Wait, it's not like it can survive an AG'ed Thunderbolt anyway, can it? I completely forgot about Medicham, too. Well, Dusknoir can come in on HJK and Wisp it, at least. -_-

Edit: Just realized, CM/Shadow Ball/TBolt/Sub Raikou seems like it would give me trouble. I'm not sure how many SBalls Donphan can take, really...

I'd go with Sub on Leafon, gives Dusknoir something to Focus Punch from behind and is just generally good to BP around to your team.

Grass Rope's 100 BP on Milo (Suicune too). It can survive a CG Thunderbolt/Grass Rope from Starmie with ease actually.

I've never liked CG Starmie at all, having to switch out on something like Infernape because you're locked into Ice Beam seems wrong. I'm sure it works well though, a lot of people seem to be favouring it.

Porygon2 is really cool. He's gotten totally overlooked for Z, despite the fact he is an awesome counter for both Garchomp and Gyarados. Relaxed is a good nature for it actually, it's not like he's fast to begin. Plus he's got Thunder Wave for support.

I like more speed on Gyarados (100 EVs) as it'll allow him to outspeed Jolly Garchomp after a Dragon Dance and Adamant Tyranitar before.

Overall, it's a solid looking team. Mostly standards, but Leafeon and Porygon2 make it much more interesting.

^Way to go off topic.

I don't know about Leafia as a starter, man. Every common starter (and speculated starters) owns the poor thing. Also, leafia's SD passing is extremely predictable.

As for the last move, Grasswhistle is completely unreliable and you can't assume that its going to sleep the counter switch-in. When it misses, and it will, then what? I'd go for aerial ace.

Other than that - this may sound kind of stupid - i think that your team isn't physical enough to zerg and isn't defensive enough to stall. You've got two attackers and two physical walls, but you also have two 'questionables' (for lack of a better word). I can see a special attacker rolling over your team like cops to a donut shop. Since you won't rep P2, i'd drop leafia, start starmie (with Tbolt as the last move) and add creselia or blissey or something that can take special hits.

Your main problem I think is having 2 water types, one with 4x elec weakness, and no special wall to deal with the Thunderbolters they draw out, with the 2 resisters Leafeon and Donphan having bad spdef and weakness to Ice Beam. With Electivire, you could grab the Electric Engine boost and beat down Azelf and co and covers that problem.

Dusknoir needs 80 ATK evs against Heracross, and besides HP the rest can go into SPDEF. It survives CB pursuit twice regardless, you don't need equal defenses if it's going to mainly special wall.

Okay, I'll change the EVs on Dusknoir and Leafeon.

What's Azelf's standard moveset? I'm guessing Scheme/Grass Rope/Thunderbolt/Psychic, so maybe Magnezone would help? It also stops Raikou, pretty much every other BoltBeamer, and even PorygonZ (unless it has Hyper Beam). It also comes in on TTar's Crunch/Earthquake and Heracross' Megahorn/Blade Test, so maybe it could help there, too. Thing is, I don't really know who it should go over.

Edit: I think for the benefit of my team, I'll use Cresseria. I'm thinking of using the set I saw on Tochasuko's team.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
Levitate
252 HP/ 208 Def/ 34 SpA/ 16 SpD
- Light Screen
- Moonlight
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave

It definitely helps my special problem. Only thing I don't like is that it's like Heracross/TTar food. It can come in on pretty much anything, and rape it with Pursuit (if players over Wi-Fi are smart enough to have it). That's why I'm thinking I should put either Grass Rope or Psychic> Thunder Wave because I have enough status imo. It'll most likely go over Dusknoir since he's really not doing much for the team (and for what he's supposed to be doing, I don't expect him to do it well.)

EVs for Gyarados: 112 HP/ 20 Atk/ 144 Def/ 232 Spd
A new EV Spread for Gyarados, also taken from Tochukaso. I'm liking them more than more than Jump's EVs because I could come in a a Garchomp's Swords Dance, DD once and survive the Dragon Claw (it should be Intimidate, and hopefully it won't have a Rock move), and OHKO it with Ice Fang...I think.
