RMT: Let the Battle Begin

RMT: Let the Battle Begin
This is the team I’ve used for a time now and I really want some help. This teams job is to weaken the enemies team to the point where Lucario can sweep or Flygon can revenge kill by using LOTran and CBScizor to force switches. Bulky Rotom as a check to many pokemon and lure for Dark/Rock/... moves for lucario to set up.
Title means that I just started competive battling and this is my first succesful team.

Celebi

Timid
Occa Berry
80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
~ Leaf Storm
~ Earth Power
~ Stealth Rock
~ U-turn
Made Celebi my lead. I first was not sold on this but in the end I started to like this. It sets up Stealth Rock versus anything without Taunt or not named Azelf. It's useful later on as a scout or a check to Gyarados as it can take quite a beating. It even has a chance defeating Heatran with Occa Berry.

Top 15 lead: Azelf: lose if it uses U-turn ( it KOs) otherwise I U-turn out to Scizor.
Aerodactyl: 2 times Leaf Storm, it loses if it Taunts.
Swampert: KO with Leaf Storm.
Machamp: Stealth Rock, U-turn on Ice Punch or Payback or switch on D-punch.
Metagross: 2KO it with Earth Power or switch to Rotom to take the Explosion.
Jirachi: tricky, if it Tricks switch otherwise Stealth Rock.
Infernape: Stealth Rock while Fake Out + FB failed to KO due to Occa Berry. Then Switch.
Ninjask: switch to priority user, most of the time Scizor.
Roserade: outspeed non-scarf and Earth Power, take sleep and switch to Scizor for easy KO.
Hippodown: Leaf Storm for the KO.
Tyranitar: Stealth Rock, scout his item, if slower than Celebi Leaf Storm for damage, switch to Scizor and BP.
Heatran: KO with Earth Power, easier than Infernape.
Smeagle: outspeed non-scarf and Leaf Storm, same as Roserade.
Uxie: Stealth Rock and U-turn.
Starmie: Leaf Storm for the KO (without sash).

Heatran

Naïve
Life Orb
252 SpA / 4Spd / 252 Spe
~ Fire Blast
~ Earth Power
~ Hidden Power Grass
~ Explosion
Life Orb heatran with Explosion and HP Grass for Bulky Waters like Swampert and Vaporeon. Just FB away untill everyone is in range of a revenge kill by scizor or Flygon. This can change to something who can counter other Heatran but its damage and bulk is to good to give up.

Flygon

Jolly
Choice Scarf
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Outrage
~ Earthquake
~ U-turn
~ Stone Edge
My Revenge killer in place of Rotom. Isn't Pursuit weak and Dragon revenge killer. If Rotom should die before Gyarados is dead, Flygon comes in on the Dragon Dance Outrages, forcing it out or weakening it, let Flygon die, switch to Lucario and Revenge with ES. This team needs momentum and with U-turn Flygon becomes a very fast scout.
Flygon is important throughout the battle with its speed, coverage, and scouting abilities. I won't use him early game, only mid- and endgame, he needs all his health that he can get to the end to survive priority like unboosted ES of Luke.

Scizor

Adamant
Choice Band
168 HP / 258 Atk / 80 Def / 32 Spd
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit
My scout and revenge killer. Checks so many things, like Gengar, Tyranitar and Salamence. Forces enough switches in a match until everyone is weakened enough and in range of Bullet Punch. Early scout and revenges leads that Celebi can't take on like T-tar, Azelf, Ninjask, Roserade and much more.

Need a better spread for Scizor, a bulky one plz.

Rotom-H

Bold
Leftovers
252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
~ Thunderbolt
~ Will-o-Wisp
~ Rest
~ Sleeptalk
My Gyarados and Scizor counter. Can check other things aswell like Gliscor and Celebi. Made it the Resttalk set as Scarf isn't needed anymore with Flygon. Now with Recovery Rotom can stay alive and check Gyarados, Gliscor, Swampert, Skarmory and lots of other stuff.

Lucario

Adamant
Life Orb
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Swords Dance
~ Close Combat
~ ExtremeSpeed
~ Crunch
My late game cleaner and second priority if Scizor dies.
Can set up on Choiced Dark, Rock and sometimes Dragon (Flygon) moves.
Its just wonderful that lucario has so much resists and chances to come in.
A resist to Stealth Rock is always a plus and his power is huge.
Most swampert with 60 percent stay in on Luke while getting beaten by LO Adamant Close Combat.

Weaknesses:
Heatran and other Fires.
Kingdra: if it can set up I'm done but if its a Resttalker just wear it down with Leaf Storm or set up Luke.
Flygon/Salamence/Dragonite: if somehow Scizor dies and the Dragons are still alive late game it just game there.
Anything that just KOs my core is a threat to the team, in this case I just play mindgames and switch if they are holding life orb.
Now they are less a problem with Flygon.

So this was the team, I know it got some glaring weaknesses but most times I can play around this. Rate or Hate plz

Conclusion: its an more offensive oriented team with Bulky pokemon like Celebi and Rotom to counter Key oppenents. Scouting Lukes counters with Uturn and Expose of them.

Edit: Made SubTran LoTran, Celebi my lead, Flygon my Revenge Killer and Rotom Bulky. Anymore rates are always welcome and thanks for those who had already rated!

thoughts: making Rotom Resttalk because Painsplit isn't enough to heal.
Stone Edge on Luke over Crunch and making him Jolly or using T-wave somewhere (not needed)

Celebi doesn't seem to fit too well (at least the set you're using).

You're team seems to be about momentum but subseed celebi slows down your team a lot.

You could try a celebi with twave which can also help lucario sweep.

you have a pretty bad weakness to heatran, nape, fires in general as well as one to stuff like salamence (mix or standard). we don't know if mence will go uber or not, but its nice to deal with it now, especially since we can solve dnite problems too.

my suggestion is scarf flygon over celebi, who does seem out of place on such an offensive team. flygon gives you constant momentum with u-turn and scizor's u-turn, as well as solving problems against mixmence, heatran, and nape. it could leave you as set up bait, but you have 2 priroity users and a scarf rotom, not much to worry about. my other suggestion would be changing heatran to a more offensive baittran for bulky waters, life orb explosion with fire blast/earth power/sub to get kos on bulky waters like gyarados, suicune, vaporeon, etc to make sweeping with lucario that much easier. also clears the way for outrage flygon since its basically steel/bulky waters stopping him.

Hotpocket: Subseed Celebi has aided my team alot by wearing them down untill lucario can sweep but I'll test T-wave.

kd24: I know Heatran is a problem and I'll test Flygon and a more offensive Tran but Heatran is slower than Rotom and together with T-bolt, Stealth Rock and random moves, its weakened enough and in range of my priority moves but I'll take your advice.

Thanks for the rates

Ground is covered by Celebi and Azelf (if still alive) can come in to block it. Fire is a weakness but with Stealth Rock and other random attacks, the foe comes in range of a revenge kill of Scizor, Rotom or even Lucario

Like kd24 suggested, a Scarf Flygon would cover your Fire and Dragon weakness. But if Rotom goes down to a Pursuit user early then you will have some problems against bulky waters, so I recommend that you keep Celebi and instead make it a lead, and replace Azelf.

Celebi @ Occa Berry
76 HP 252 S.ATK 180 SPD, Modest
Leaf Storm/Earth Power/Stealth Rock/UTurn

This means you keep a solid check to bulky waters as well as Pursuit bait which could lead to a Lucario sweep.

You could make Rotom a more bulky non-scarf variant so that you aren't Pursuit bait and you have a better check to Bounce Gyarados, which can set up on a lot of your team and isn't stopped by Celebi. You already have gained a new scarfer in Flygon so I'm not convinced you need the scarf any longer anyway. Perhaps just a standard defesive version with will o wisp to discourage pursuit users.

Rotom-H @ Leftovers
252 HP 168 DEF 88SPD, Bold
Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball/Will o wisp/Pain Split

With Flygon my Fire and Ground weaknesses are covered. But, like you said, I really miss the bulk of Celebi. Celebi as a lead? Will test but I'm not sold... Will keep Flygon and what about my Heatran? Its now an Lo with Earth Power/ FB / Explosion and HP Grass for waters?

Edit: NPape just walks over me now because my rotom is not scarfed anymore (Vacuum Wave).

Celebi as a lead is actually very viable.

But yeah as kd24 said a more offensive bait tran would make a sweep with either luke or flygon so much easier.

You want to be luring in the lucario counters with heatran than using the apropiat attack don't be afraid to explode If you have to. I would run expert belt on heatran to fake that he is locked in to fire blast then they will bring in a bulky water then hp grass on the most likely swampert swith

Expert Belt? Yah but they already switch in there swamperts and vaporeons when I FB, all the swamperts got hit by HP Grass and Vappy 1 HP Grass and Boom.

Without LO I'll lose the power to KO Vappy and other stuff.

Celebi as a lead works but sometimes I don't get the chance to get Stealth Rock up vs Taunters and thats annoying without recovery. Bulky Rotom does work vs Gyarados and Gliscor but like I said NPape just FB rotom and then Vacuums all the rest.

Updated the team, rates are always welcome!

Update and bump: added top 15 leads for Celebi and thoughts:

- Stone Edge on Luke? Make Luke Jolly (power loss hurts)?
- Make Rotom Resttalk?

At the moment I would just have to say that you should run Thunderpunvh/Stone Edge/Fire Blast on Flygon instead of Fire Punch. I noticed that you said dragons were a threat so if that is the case then the best option for the team would be Stone Edge so that you can revenge them without having to resort to Outrage early game. But anyway this team is very good at revenging with two priority users and a scarfer. And your pokemon do well at bringing everything within the ko range of Flygon's Outrage and Luke's Extremespeed due to Scizor's and Flygon's UTurns causing lots of switches to fully utilize Stealth Rocks which Celebi can set up a lot og the time. Kudos on your team.

thanks doctor who, your celebi has aided me good vs Gyarados, getting SR up most of the time in a battle and the ScarfGon.
Will sure try Stone Edge on Flygon thanks!
