RMT: Offensive DDNite Sweep Team

482.png

Azelf @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Naive (+Spe, -SpD)
EV: 36 Atk / 252 SpA / 220 Spe
-U-Turn
-Psychic
-Flamethrower
-Explosion

This is possibly my favorite lead. With Choice Scarf and a Naive nature, I outspeed all Gengars and essentially every other lead. Since Weaviles do not lead much anymore, they do not pose a huge threat. With Explosion, he can take out Blissey and Weavile if it dares lead. U-Turn allows me to scout and allows me to escape leads who I can't OHKO, like SpecsMence and Bronzong.

Dragonite @ Yache Berry
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
EV: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Fire Punch
-Earthquake

Dragonite forms the core of this team, being my favorite pokemon and the most powerful sweeper on my team. Yache Berry allows me to survive an ice attack. With Adamant nature I 2HKO Suicune and Hippowdon, while with Jolly it would rarely happen. The only upside to Jolly it seems is getting that extra DD on Jolteon.

Magnezone @ Lum Berry
Ability: Magnet Pull
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
EV: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power [Ice]
-Substitute
-Magnet Rise

Now that blasted Skarmory can't even come close to my Dragonite! This completely stops CB Metagross from ripping the team to shreds with STAB Meteor Mash and can prevent a Bronzong from walling Dragonite. The only thing I can switch into is Gyro Ball and Stealth Rock tho, so hopefully I can get it to put something to sleep first. I feel like Bold nature on this could do some good, but I would rather stick with the standard spread as it seems efficient enough. I am considering Lum Berry which will allow me to switchin after Azelf has U-Turned from a lead Bronzong.

Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
EV: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpA
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

Absorbs status very nicely and gets rid of the Yache Berry Garchomp may be holding. If it does have a Yache Berry, then I can revenge kill it with Azelf, if not, this counters it fine. Modest allows for a OHKO on Outraging ScarfChomps which is nice.

465.png

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorphyll
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
EV: 252 HP / 228 Def / 28 Spe
-Power Whip
-Knock Off
-Leech Seed
-Sleep Powder

Counters Gyarados and most Tyranitar. It can take 3 CB Tyranitar Stone Edges and still be alive, while Knocking its CB off, making it nearly useless. Sleep Powder is always good, possibly setting up a Dragonite sweep. Leech Seed allows Tangrowth to support the team further and give some more survivability to him.

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
EV: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
-Pursuit
-Ice Shard
-Brick Break
-Night Slash/Aerial Ace

Weavile is an awesome revenge killer for Garchomp, and especially ScarfChomp. Night Slash ruins Cresselia, tho I do have a CB Heracross weak, so Aerial Ace may be better.

Question, if you're running Magnezone, why bother with Fire Punch on Dragonite? Perhaps you could even try Dragon Claw there, because let's say a Gyarados or Zapdos switches in and it's at about 30%. Do you really want to waste a turn on Outrage already, as not having to use it until you have to is always better.

Magnezone just keep the Lum Berry, even if you directly switch into it, it's going to try again so you Substitute, but if EQ, just Magnet Rise anyways. Chances are you wake up before the next 4 turns are up, but the point is you're in the driver seat against it.

What I dislike though is that aforementioned Zapdos. Zapdos seems to be able to completely destroy this team. While you can attack it hard enough, once it comes in, it's promptly 2HKOing something. If Weavile isn't ideal, as you can Milotic Ice Beam and then go directly to Azelf to take the obvious EQ, you can then just Psychic kill it. Don't forget Tangrowth can also take an attack and do a powerful Power Whip to finish Garchomp off anyways, so Weavile is definitely expandable.

Now it's hard to think of something that can cover both Heracross and Zapdos, but Nidoqueen is a good start. Nidoqueen is bulky enough to where Heracross for the most part takes 5 hits to kill after Leftovers (unless it activates Poison Point in which case it's 3 hits). As for Zapdos, at least it can survive 2 Hidden Power Ice which might allow you to get in a Ice Punch/Beam and attempt to predict Roost and EQ it.

Hmm, Nidoqueen is definitely an option. I would probably run the standard set, tho with Stealth Rock > Toxic Spikes, making SpecsMence and Gyarados a bit more afraid to switch in, and then Aerial Ace and Ice Beam for Zapdos?

Lum Berry on Magnezone will do.

Or better yet, try Safeguard. You won't get confused at the end of Outrage so you can use it again.

This is very true, Safeguard would work very nicely, however I rarely use that last move. Outrage and Earthquake are typically the only moves I need, so the last move options are now: Dragon Claw, Safeguard, and I have other ideas-Thunder can hurt Gyarados and other bulky waters, who without it would force me into Outrage, or Stone Edge, which allows me to hit Zapdos, Gyarados AND Salamence very hard without locking myself into an Outrage.

I wouldn't use Safeguard as that's just another turn you've wasted attacking, which could ruin your Yache. Remember it already has to take 25% from SR due to no RSer, so best if you just attack fast while you can with it.

On Dragonite, instead of Fire Punch, I'd use Aqua Tail. If Hippowon or Gliscor switch in, you can hit them Super Effective at least.

Another option could be, as weird as it sounds, Toxic. You DD when they switch in their counter, you survive the Ice attack with Yache and now you opponent is poisened. Now they have to switch or take double damage as well as rapidly lose health. I used a similar strategy with Garchomp once and it proved invaluable to my team.

Or you could use Thunderpunch to take down the afformentioned Zapdos and Gyarados, instead of Stone Edge with poor accuracy, Outrage destroys any dragons to switch in, and allows you to kill all Bulky Waters (not named Swampert) down after a DD.

Well actually Outrage destroys Swampert moreso than Slowbro or Suicune, who have higher defense stats. ThunderPunch seems soo situational, and I would rather use Thunder to hit them hard before I DD.

I was thinking about Toxic as I used to use a ScarfChomp with it to basically negate Hipppowdon and Gliscor as counters unless they have an Aromatherapist or Heal Beller. I may consider Toxic, since Magnezone covers steels who are immune while Earthquake easily dispatches of earthbound steels.
