The Green and Blue Bashers (named for hopefully obvious reasons), are my first competitive team. Unfortunately, there really was no inspiration, I just picked my favorite pokemon, and built a team from there. And they all happened to be green or blue, and work well together.

251.png

Celebi @ Focus Sash
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 76 HP / 180 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leaf Storm
- Psychic
- U-turn

Celebi is one of my favorite pokemon, and is a great lead, with stealth rock, u-turn, and two very powerful STAB moves. The EV's are for his two stab attacks, and the speed to help him hit first. I gave Celebi a focus sash so that he can always get at least one move off.

330.png

Flygon (M) @ Yache Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 80 Atk / 176 Spd / 252 SAtk
Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- U-turn

Other than being a all-around cool pokemon, Flygon has great typing and with levitate, which makes him immune to groundtype moves, which can be used to switch-in from Lanturn. Draco Meteor and Earthquake are the two most powerful STAB moves that Flygon can learn, and Fire Blast another strong move that can combat the types not covered by Draco Meteor or Earthquake. U- Turn was put in for switching out, but I'm not so sure about this move, and am willing to change it out for another move. I'm also not sure about using the life orb, it gives good boosts, but I have had it lead to Flygon fainting several times. Gave him a Yache Berry, as it allows him to take out ice types like Weavile who would otherwise decimate my team.

248.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Babiri Berry
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Fire Punch

Tyranitar is just an awesome pokemon. He is very strong, and after getting speed and/or attack baton passed from Ninjask, he is a monster. I've swept teams with this guy, he has the devastating STAB attacks Crunch and Stone Edge, along with Earthquake for opposing Tyranitars, and Fire Punch for the one pokemon that has given this guy trouble, Scizor. With the Babiri Berry he can take a bullet punch from an unbuffed Scizor, and retaliate with Fire Punch.

291.png

Ninjask (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 176 HP / 255 Atk / 76 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Baton Pass
- X-Scissor
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

Now Ninjask is what you would call a badass booster. With leftovers he can substitute five times and if the substitute isn't broken Swords Dance, and baton pass that to Tyranitar, who can then sweep the whole enemy team. I have X-Scissor as my last move because its Ninjask's strongest physical STAB move. Scizor is a large problem with Ninjask, because his bullet punch is super effective and priority, so I usually have to switch to Lucario.

171.png

Lanturn (M) @ Shuca Berry
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40 HP / 76 Def / 140 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave

Lanturn is on my team because of his great typing and awesome ability, Volt Absorb. He can fulfill the role of taking down both water, flying, fire and rock type. When faced with a ground type move he can switch to Flygon, who takes no damage from ground moves. Also, he has high HP, making him a relatively good tank with leftovers. Surf and Thunderbolt are both powerful STAB attacks, with Ice Beam for dragon types, and Thunder Wave for paralysis. Replaced leftovers with Shuca Berry to allow him to survive long enough to kill Gliscor.

453.png

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Swords Dance
- Blaze Kick

Lucario is the niche pokemon that I really need on my team. With one Swords Dance, an extremely strong STAB move, and an extremly stron prioty move, he is a force to be recond with. Blaze Kick is his last move for steel type foes like Scizor, who can easily one-hit Ninjask.

So this is my first competitive team I've ever made. PLease give me feedback on it.

I am seeing a huge infernape weak here in this team. And Ninjask really doesn't work especailly if it is not a lead, trust me, Stealth rock will be sending him to grave. Dragon weak is really helpful as well.

Change Lucario's Blaze Kick to something else (Ice Punch/Stone edge with a Jolly nature, Crunch with an Adamant nature). All steel types in OU neutural (or weak) against fighting. So most of the time Close Combat's power is 120*1.5=180 (STAB), while Blaze kick does 85*2=170. Non defensive Szicors get owned by CC in one hit (Adamant).

When you discard Ninjask for something else (e.g. Starmie, Gyaraods, I am not so good at suggesting options) , you might want to add Dragon Dance to Tyranitar and make it Jolly. Hope this helps .

I can not tell you how happy I am to see more Lanturn in OU. Good call on the Lanturn.

However, if your not running Substitute, why do you have 40 HP on there? If you want better bulk you should move those to Def. Another set I recommend running is the one I use:

Lanturn @ Shuca Berry
Volt Absorb
Calm
Def 156 / SpAtk 100 / SpDef 252
-Confuse Ray / Surf
-Thunder Wave
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt

With the Shuca Berry equipped, he becomes a terror. You can safely switch in on DD Gyara or DD Mence and KO back since your Shuca will allow you cushion for any +1 Life Orb Earthquake. The only threat those two pose are either a +1 Life Orb Stone Edge with a critical hit or a +1 Life Orb Outrage. While I have been taken out with SE, I have yet to run into a Salamence that used Outrage over EQ because it makes him Steel bait.

Also, with the Shuca, you can Twave ScarfTar, ScarfTran, and Agiligross since their ground takes are relatively weak.

You have your choice between Parafuse or Surf, since either works. Parfuse works wonders for me, but I use mine a little differently than most people. You can also move some SpDef EVs to SpAtk if you want more offense, but just know that with 100 SpAtk EVs he can easily KO Gyarados and will always KO Salamence after Stealth Rock.

Crobatchop, I don't really see the Infernape weakness. Lanturn has surf, and both Flygon and Tyranitar have Earthquake. I know what you mean about Ninjask, are there any other good baton passers? I really enjoy passing to Tyranitar then sweeping a whole team. And whats Dragon Weak?

For Lucario, I will change Blaze kick, but why not to a steel move? He would get stab, and I already have ice and rock covered by other pokemon.

King of Harts, thanks about the Lanturn. But I don't need Earthquake protection, because I just switch out to Flygon, who is immune. Thanks for the EV's though.

A Gliscor running Ice Fang can OHKO your entire team, Celebi after Swords Dance.

I suggest running a Pokemon with Ice Shard to counter Gliscor.

Yeah, Gliscor can take down four of my pokemon with Ice Fang, and take down Lucario and Lanturn with Earthquake. But with a Shuca Berry Lanturn can take one Earthquake and counter with Ice Beam.

Though I run into a problem with Weavile, who usually runs Ice Shard, which is priority, and if its running a fighting move, it can one hit all but Lanturn, but Lanturn doesn't have any countering moves.

The problem is, you don't generally have a safe switchin. Say, CC from infernape definitely 2HKO Lanturn with Stealth rock, Flygon as well, and Tyranitar... nvm. It is different, e.g. a tyranitar is generally a good rotom switch in because of its high sp defence, while it has to be areful about WoW. Besides infernape can always run HP ice.

A Gliscor is a better BP Pokemon than Ninjask. Yes Ninjask can do both attack and speed, but not consistently. You will be surprised how many Ninjasks I have owned with my Metagross' bullet punch. What's more, it's a much better defensive pokemon.

EDIT: Dragon weak means you don't have a steel pokemon (like Lucario can defend against Outrages o.0). Also, if you really want a steel move that replace Extremespeed with Bullet Punch, although I doubt you would do that. Using the standard moveset usually gives you better coverage.

I should also point out a Life Orb Heatran weakness. With only Flygon resisting the combination of Earth Power and Flamethrower, if Heatran runs HP Ice, you're pretty screwed. The Shuca on Lanturn helps, but, if caught on the switch, it is easily 2 hit by Earth Power.

Alright let me start off by saying this: The suggestions people are making are good but you are kind of taking them the wrong way. Earthquake protection on Flygon is nice but what if, like Harts said, your against a +1 Salamence. It will outspeed and OHKO with outrage (Not sure of that, but it's late and I'm too tired to run a calc), even though it will be locked in, you have no counter against except possibly Lucario? (Don't feel like running an Outrage check). That Shuca would allow Lanturn to stay in and kill with Ice Beam.

Next is the Lucario issue. When I say Lucario counter most people think Gliscor. Gliscor is faster and can kill Lucario easy, so some people will run that Ice Punch to prevent switching out and losing momentum, i.e. Gliscor hitting Taunt/Toxic on the switch preventing any set-up and forcing another switch or letting you sit there and take stab EQ's with poison. So that being said running Ice Punch would help. Maybe run Agility Lucario, it was posted in the latest Smog issue and is actually pretty appealing. Life Orb gives nice damage and to top it off you can outspeed pretty much all your counters who will switch out upon being outsped or just get killed. But I digress, if you want to see this build it's at this link and it's the second build: http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/lucario

Also LeadChamp would ruin this team as Ice Punch/Payback destroys Celebi with bullet punch to finish it off, Ice Punch kills Ninjask/Gliscor and Flygon, DynamicPunch on Tyranitar and Lucario and Lanturn can't do anything. Plus Bullet Punch will kill Ninjask and Gliscor will be stuck in a Substitute spam with no passing bonus.

Honestly I don't know any suggestions that wouldn't cause me to reconstruct your team but just thought you should be aware of that threat.
