hey, this is my latest team and i'm currently in the process of gettin a wifi conection point so i'm tryin to get my team up to that level, due to fact i've hardly battled online...

my team as is..

Rhyperior...lv 95....brave nature...solid rock
stats- 361hp/291d/127spa/129spd/106speed
stone edge
earthquake
avalanche
megahorn
reasoning - stone edge and e'quake are 4 powerful stab which can knock about loads of types (although am thinkin about replacing stone edge..any ideas?),avalanche is used to take care off grass flying and dragon types due to more chance of hittin than stone edge and megahorn is 4 psychics and grass

Kingdra....lv 94....naughty....sniper
stats- 283hp/265a/215d/202spa/185spd/204speed
yawn
waterfall
dragon dance
outrage
yawn is used to put the oponent to sleep so i can dragon dance wivout taking to much damage, then once dd up waterfall is used 4 stab or outrage is used to normaly wipe out anyone in the way

Espeon....lv 94.....modest...synchronize
stats- 247hp/146a/171d/301spa/191spd/273speed
attract
shadow ball
calm mind
psychic
attract was used to distract the oponent so i cud calm mind up although i realise this isnt a good move so am looking 4 ideas to change it, shadow ball is used to take care of other psychics and ghost while psychic is used 4 powerful stab.

Houndoom...lv 93....timid...early bird
stats- 291hp/171a/140d/238spa/177spd/244speed
moves
swagger
flamethrower
nasty plot
sludge bomb
swagger is used to distracted the oponent so i can use nasty plot but i again swagger is risky due to the attack boost so advice is needed, flamethrower is used 4 stab while sludge bomb is used to hit a number of water types hard, but is willing 2 be changed 4 a better idea

Arbok....lv93...naughty...intimidate
stats- hp 264/228a/162d/159spa/147spd/188 speed
thunder fang
e'quake
seed bomb
crunch
arbok was picked because i needed a electric, grass and a dark move although a realise he wasnt the best of chooses but hay he looks kinda cool lol so i picked the moves because its what my team was missing to counter wot was thrown at me.

staraptor...lv 93...adamant..intimidate
stats-294hp/320a/158d/99spa/128spd/237speed
fly
close combat
u turn
brave bird
fly is used because its a handy move and its good to use when hp isnt reali pratical to use brave bird, close combat explains its self as an all out amazing move, u turn is used to scout out apounents and to swap to a more relevent poke while causing damage, brvae bird is used to hit hard wiv power and speed normaly when going 4 the kill.

any ideas on improvements are welcome..

thanks 4 ur time

i understand wot evs are n how to get them but how do i work out how many n wot evs my pokes have?? i 4t it was jst the same as states lol, so how do i work out the current evs of my team?

You can't, you're supposed to count EVs yourself when you start training a Pokémon. Every Pokémon you just caught or bred has no EVs at all, and you need to count how many EVs it has received in every stat from the very beginning. Unfortunately, seeing as you didn't do that for your current team, it's safe to assume that your entire team is worthless, I'm afraid.

If you want to create a good in-game team, try to plan it out first. When I started building a team, this is what I did:
- First I looked at the list of commonly used Pokémon, to see which ones were good (and therefore worth using and training). Check out the Strategy Pokédex on Smogon to see which Pokémon are used the most, and what movesets and EVs are used the most for those Pokémon.
- Then I tried to compose a team of 6 Pokémon, selecting different Pokémon of different types and with different moves, so that they had good "synergy". This means they work well together, both offensively (almost every type of attack is on the team) and defensively (if one Pokémon is weak to a certain threat or "counter" Pokémon, I make sure another Pokémon can handle that counter). I selected all my Pokémon from the "OU" (overused) tier, which is the standard tier of most commonly used Pokémon.
- After that, I downloaded the battle simulator Shoddy Battle, where I manually constructed my team for testing. Shoddy Battle allows you to manually adapt the IVs, EVs, natures, and movesets of every Pokémon you want, which allows you to instantly create a team of 6 "perfect" Pokémon (whereas, in-game, creating only 1 "perfect" Pokémon could take ages).
- After testing out my team for the first time, I discovered that I overlooked a lot of things when I created my first team - which is only natural since I never created a competitive team before! So, I started over, creating a new, better team; I tested it out and found more obvious flaws; after which I started over yet again...

By this process, you will learn a lot about competitive battling, and as I can judge from your posts, you may need some help. Maybe it's not a bad idea to sign up for Smogon's tutoring program.

Good luck!

PS: Try to use proper spelling and grammar (e.g. punctuation) in your posts. It makes reading them a lot easier.

cheers 4 that, i have been ev trianing them but i havent been counting them as i gone along....i always spend alot off time picking the right members for the team and i believe my only weak link in the team is my arbok but he was mainly used as a poke 2 carry the moves i was missing

If you haven't been counting them, you haven't been EV training them. And because you haven't, every Pokémon on your team needs to be replaced by one that HAS been EV trained. I'm sorry, but that's a must if you want to get into competitive battling.

When you construct a team, you should always devise a plan for the team, a strategy that you are going to try to pull off. For example, say you chose Lucario as your "late-game sweeper" (the Pokémon you want to bring in to destroy the entire team of the opponent, or what's left of it), you want to make sure the rest of the team gets rid of any Pokémon that might block Lucario's sweep... That's a common strategy when building a team. There are more strategies, you'll get to know the most common ones once you start battling on Shoddy Battle.

Good luck, and if you need help, give a shout!

thanks 4 that...i think i'l just finish this team off at lvl 100 then start a new team and ev train them my new team ideas are

slowking
kangaskhan
jolteon
donphan
froslass
breloom

i havent looked at it in 2 much detail as yet but in theory i think it could be ok?

I suggest you lurk more and have a good look through the on site articles because at the moment this doesn't even resemble a competitive team.
