[RMT] UU: Fishing Bait and Clean Up

Alright, here's the thing: I love this team, but its just not working right. Could just be me, I don't know the tier very well, and my prediction's been shitty lately.

I've included the suspects as threats, as its unknown who will be permanently removed right now. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Arcanine
@ Lum Berry
Intimidate
Naughty (+Atk, -SpD)
192 HP / 252 Atk / 64 Spe
~ Flare Blitz
~ Extremespeed
~ Overheat
~ Toxic

LR's Anti-Lead Arcanine has worked out to be my favorite lead for UU. It takes on nearly every other lead in the tier and wins (the Fire attack + Toxic combo to take care of Froslass was especially smart). He also, however, fully support's this team's strategy as well. This team works best by taking out the opposing team's water type(s) early in the game, so my Cleaners (literally ;) ) can take over mid-late game. Essentially, Arcanine and Steelix act as the bait. Arcanine asks for water types to switch in, and catching them with Toxic on the switch in ruins the vast majority of them. Arcanine can also help take care of the Grass Pokemon.

Arcanine additionally gives me an Intimidate to throw on opponents (always useful), as well as a status absorber through the use of the Lum berry. His great bulk (gotta love his ridiculous stats, if not his move pool) means that he's good not just for leading the team, but returning later on.

Spr_4p_208_f.png

Steelix
@ Passho Berry
Sturdy
Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
252 Atk / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
~ Stealth Rock
~ Iron Head
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion

The ever more common Baitlix is the second part of my, well, bait. He sets up Stealth Rock, luring out the opponent's water types, then explodes on them, taking them out of the equation. Max SpD to take the water attacks (with Passho Berry), and max attack to explode as strong as possible. Iron Head lets him be an offensive threat to Hail teams, and Earthquake for general STAB (and hitting the electric types attacking the Cleaners). As long as the opponent's water type is gone either due to Arcanine's Toxic or Steelix's Explosion, I should be all set.

I don't know about anyone else, but BaitLix doesn't seem to be working much anymore. If anything, a lot of people I've played assume it is Baitlix. I'm considering going back to the former standard Steelix, or even switching Steelix out for someone else.

Spr_4d_003_m.png

Venusaur
@ Choice Scarf
Overgrow
Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
56 HP / 252 SpA / 200 Spe /
~ Sleep Powder
~ Leaf Storm
~ Sludge Bomb
~ Earthquake

Venusaur's a recent addition, and one I love. Scarf Sleep Powder is awesome, giving Ludicolo a turn to set up (and all Ludicolo needs is one). He also absorbs the ridiculous attacks thrown around by Shaymins or Sceptiles with a 4x resistance to Grass, and hits back hard with STAB Sludge Bomb. I've chosen Venusaur over Roserade (who can run this exact set) for his considerable bulk mostly. He was necessary for switching into Shaymin, Sceptile, and Azumarill, and Roserade's a little fragile (especially since half of them run physical at least sometimes).

Venusaur replaced Mismagius because Shaymin was kicking my ass.

Spr_4p_430.png

Honchkrow
@ Life Orb
Insomnia
Adamant/Jolly (+, -)
252 HP / 140 Atk / 116 SpD
~ Sucker Punch
~ Drill Peck
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit

This spot has been replaced more times than I can count. Mismagius, Drapion, Spiritomb, etc. Honchkrow's currently in, and not doing too shabby. It gives me back the Ground immunity I lost with Mismagius, and is a solid physical attacker. She gives me a third priority attack as well. Pursuit/Sucker Punch play mind games and have STAB, while Drill Peck is a solid attack that also helps with my previous Shaymin issue.

Spr_4d_272_m.png

Ludicolo
@ Damp Rock
Swift Swim
Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Hydro Pump
~ Grass Knot
~ Ice Beam
~ Rain Dance

Ludicolo's my favorite piece of this team and the first of my Cleaners who wipe out my opponent with water. Let me just get this out of the way. Ludicolo is a beast. A BEAST. Without a doubt, my favorite Pokemon in the tier. He just fucks shit up so good.

Ludi does a number of things for the team. She double resists water attacks, giving her plenty of other chances to come in, often off of Arcanine or Steelix. Ludi doesn't even care if the opponent's water or grass types are still around. Grass Knot and Ice Beam can further purge the opponent's field, making an easy time for my last Pokemon. If Hydro Pump's extra damage isn't doing anything for me as far as OHKO or 2HKOs, give me a head's up. I'd obviously prefer Surf's accuracy.

I've decided on Damp Rock for her item, as it gives her the longest possible sweep time. With it Rain Dance is basically used as a weird, water type Dragon Dance - it's more or less a stat up move on Ludi, though it does have a ton of other bonuses. It gives me weather control, for one thing, so Hail teams are not a problem. Ludi can absorb the Blizzard from Abomasnow and Rain Dance up. Rain Dance also removes Venusaur's Fire weakness and increases Azumarill's damage.

Why Grass Knot?
Pokemon - Base Power
Blastoise - 80
Cloister - 100
Lantern - 40
Lapras - 120
Milotic - 100
Quagsire - 80
Slowbro - 80
Azumaril - 60
Feraligatr - 80
Omastar - 60
Poliwrath - 80
Sharpedo - 80

So only Lantern, Azumarill, and Omastar take less from Grass Knot than they would from Energy Ball. Additionally Omastar has a 4x weakness, so it doesn't really matter. Having 100 BP for Milotic, 120 for Lapras, and 100 for Cloister definitely evens out doing less to Lantern and Azumarill (though other Azumarill are definitely a bitch).

Spr_4p_184.png

Azumarill
@ Choice Band
Adamant
Huge Power
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
~ Aqua Jet
~ Waterfall/Aqua Tail
~ Return
~ Ice Punch

The plan was simple. Clear the opponent of their Water resists and whittle them down enough so Azu can spam Aqua Jet late game and clean up.

Unfortunately, that was the plan. Not so much in the execution. It just never seems to work out like that, and Azumarill has become probably the weakest link in my team. Ludi, more often than not, does her job for her. Azu does fine; Aqua Jet and Return are solid, heavy damaging attacks, but I can't help but wonder if someone else would be better in this spot.

Past Aqua Jet, there's an astonishingly large number of Pokemon slower than Azumarill in UU, so Aqua Tail does still get used, even with only a base speed of 50. Aqua Tail over Waterfall in a Raikou-included metagame to guarante a OHKO, which Max Hp lets it survive a Thunderbolt from. When Raikou's not around, I run Waterfall though I do need to reevaluate the HP and see if its all necessary. Return for neutrality. The last slot really doesn't matter. Ice Punch is chosen mostly to catch Grass Pokemon or Altara on the switch.

Azumarill can be used mid game as a revenge killer via Aqua Jet as well.

THREAT LIST:
(Or how they should be taken care of, even if its not how it actually happens in practice)

Abomasnow - Leads are killed, if not running away from, Arcanine. Ludicolo can sponge Blizzards and change the weather. Steelix can eat a Blizzard and Iron Head back. Honchkrow can take it out with Drill Peck, though Blizzard hits hard.

Absol - Arcanine Intimidates and deals 45% with Extremespeed and causes Sucker Punch to fail. Steelix can take most of its attacks and hit with Iron Head. Honchkrow resists STAB and hits hard with Drill Peck.

Altaria - Ludicolo Ice Beam. Steelix does fine. Venusaur can come in and hit it/sleep it.

Ambipom - Arcanine wins against leads. Steelix walls it pretty good. Azumarill can Aqua Jet and Venusaur can revenge.

Apharos - Steelix is fine as long as it doesn't have HP Water, though Focus Blast can hurt.

Arcanine - The water types deals with it, especially with Rain Dance. Leads are difficult. The opponent tends to Toxic right away, so I've been Extreme Speeding to get a leg in front.

Articuno - Steelix kills it between Stealth Rock and Iron Head

Azumarill - Steelix hopefully with Explode. Azumarill can be scary. Ludicolo 4x resists the water attacks, though the 60 BP of Grass Knot is disappointing and he can hit hard with normal attacks. Venusaur resists water and can OHKO.

Blastoise - Hopefully, it's killed by Baitlix's explosion to free up Azumarill and Ludicolo. If it's coming in on Arcanine I've hopefully caught it coming in with Toxic. Venusaur can come in too.

Blaziken - Azumarill fucks over Agility versions, and Rain Dance helps Ludi as well.

Camerupt - Rain Dance/Hydro Pump or Azumarill Aqua Jet again.

Chansey - Steelix can come in and set up Stealth Rocks as it tries Thunder Wave or Toxic. Azumarill, Honchkrow or Arcanine can hit it hard as well.

Charizard - Aqua Jet really fucks up anything based on bonuses from low life, and Rain Dance/Surf from Ludicolo isn't fun for it either. Arcanine can also revenge it with Extreme Speed. Plus, you know, Stealth Rock isn't helping it any.

Claydol - Ludicolo has good SpD and has two STAB super effective attacks, so it'll often run giving me a free Rain Dance. Honchkrow's immune to psychic and Earthpower/Quake and hurts hard with Dark attacks. Venusaur and Azumarill can also hit with STAB super effective hits.

Clefable - Arcanine, Honchkrow, and Azumarill hit it hard. Steelix can explode on it while ignoring the Thunderwaves.

Cloyster - Ludicolo's Grass Knot has 100 base power on it. Toxic Spikes are eaten by Venusaur, and returns w/ strong special Grass STAB. If it tries to set up Spikes on Steelix, we can Explode.

Cradily - Arcanine hits it hard with Flare Blitz or can Toxic it. Same with Honchkrow or Venusaur. Ludicolo hits it with STAB Rain Dance Hydro Pump.

Crobat - Leads are dealt with by Arcanine. Steelix is fine, and Stealth Rock and Aqua Jet help too.

Drapion - Arcanine who 3HKOs leads who try to set up Toxic spikes and Venusaur gets the spikes later. Steelix can take Night Slash/Cross Poison and hit back with Earthquake, but opposing Earthquakes can hurt. Honchkrow resists dark and is immune to Earthquake, while hits hard with Drill Peck.

Electrode - Usually doesn't get passed Arcanine, and frequently sets up Ludicolo (which Rain Dance teams tend to have a problem with).

Entei - Azumarill/Ludicolo/Rain Dance is a great answer to it.

Espeon - Honchkrow isn't bothered by anything it throws at it. Steelix absorbs the Choiced Psychic. Azumarill and Arcananine can priority its ass.

Feraligatr - Steelix can survive boosted Waterfalls and Explode, while Grass Knot has a solid 80 BP against it. Arcanine can, as always, revenge with Extremespeed while also Intimidating it.

Froslass - Flare Blitz + Toxic. Ludicolo removes the Hail that non leaders abuse. Honchkrow can always hit it hard.

Froslass will get a layer of Spikes up against Arcanine, but when it is at 1HP and tries to Destiny Bond you, simply finish it off with Toxic to avoid being taken down.

Gallade - Honchkrow can hit it hard, Arcanine, Venusaur and Azumarill can always revenge.

Glaceon - Arcanine Flare Blitzes it into oblivion. Steelix can survive a Blizzard and hit it hard with Iron Head. Ludicolo removes the Hail, making it far less scary.

Gastrodon - Ludicolo and Venusaur love to hit it with Grass. Steelix can always Explode on it and Arcanine can Toxic it on the switch in.

Hariyama - Toxic leads. Revenge kill it with whatever I've got. Venusaur outspeeds and cripples it (Sleep Powder) or hits it hard.

Hitmonlee - Extreme Speed fucks up Sucker Punch, Honchkrow and Venusaur resist fighting.

Hitmonchan - Doesn't hit hard enough to pose a real threat, see above.

Hitmontop - Usually later to take care of the Stealth Rocks. By spinning, however, it opens itself up to being hit too many times.

Honchkrow - Arcanine OHKO with Flare Blitz. Stealth Rock helps for mid-late game. Steelix doesn't fear it too much. Ludicolo can usually deal with it with an Ice Beam and Azumarill can revenge.

Arcanine outdamages it easily, and OHKOs on average with Flare Blitz. Note that with the speed EVs it outspeeds Adamant Honchkrow, allowing Arcanine to go first with Extremespeed and make Sucker Punch fail.

Houndoom - 2HKO with Extremespeed from Arcanine assuming they have LO, 3HKO otherwise. The waters fuck it over as well (Rain Dance Ludi kills the SunnyBeamer).

Hypno - Arcanine can hit it hard with Flare Blitz, and Honchkrow is immune to Psychic and can Pursuit/Sucker Punch. Azumarill's not horrible for revenge.

Kabutops - Only seen on Rain Teams, which really means that Ludicolo is being offered a free turn. X-Scissor is dangerous, but other than that, Grass Knot kills. Azumarill can abuse the weather too for stronger Aqua Jet. Steelix has Passho-Earthquake if it's gotten out of control, and Venusaur can revenge kill.

Kangaskhan - Steelix doesn't mind too much and Honchkrow can hit hard.

Leafeon - Honchkrow has Drill Peck, while Ludicolo has Ice Beam, Arcanine's usually around, and Venusaur can revenge/aborb grass attacks.

Linoone - Steelix laughs. Anything that's gotten out of control with Belly Drum falls to two Pokemon with Priority attacks.

Lanturn - Unfortunately Grass Knot has only 40 Base Power against this awesome little fish, so Ludi's kinda useless besides taking Surfs. Venusaur can blast it though. Steelix can Explode / Earthquake or Arcanine can Toxic (but water attacks are scary there).

Lapras - Ludicolo's Grass Knot has an awesome base power of 120. Explode/Toxic from Steelix and Arcanine if Lapras is switching in over there (as I hope they do). Venusaur.

Luxray - Steelix laughs, assuming he's still around and not Exploded yet.

Magmortar - Aqua Jet or Rain Dance/Surf. Arcanine does a good amount of damage with Extreme Speed as well.

Marowak - Honchkrow is immune to ground and hits it hard back. The waters do fine as well It's only really dangerous if boosts have been passed, and Azumarill doesn't care about speed.

Medicham - Honchrkrow can Drill Peck it, Venusaur can outspeed it.

Meganium - Honchkrow takes it out easily, Ludicolo has Ice beam, Venusaur Sludge Bomb, and Arcanine has its fire attacks.

Mesprit - Toxic if it's leading or Steelix can set up on it. Honchkrow is immune to its STAB and hits hard with Pursuit/Sucker Punch.

Milotic - If all goes as planned, Steelix Explodes on it. Ludicolo sets up Rain Dance and hits it with 100 BP Grass Knot. Even though Marvel Scale is boosted by it, Toxic from Arcanine severely limits its lifespan. Venusaur blasts it.

Miltank - Steelix can set up SR then proceed to hit it.

Mismagius - Honchkrow can Sucker Punch/Pursuit, Venusaur can outrun. Steelix can Iron Head, but is frequently already gone. Azumarill Aqua Jet is really helpful to get ahead of the Sub.

Moltres - Hopefully Stealth Rock will have done most of the duty, and Azumarill will do the rest. Rain Dance isn't helping it much either

Muk - Steelix is immune to any poison attacks and can Earthquake as well. Arcanine/Honchkrow/Azumarill, as always, hit it hard.

Nidoking - First off, all of my pokemon are female, so fuck you. Secondly, Aqua Jet, Rain Dance/Surf. If it has Earth Power, Honchkrow can come in, if it has Sucker Punch, Steelix.

Nidoqueen - Azumarill, Ludicolo, and Arcanine hit it hard (though Arcanine takes severe damage from Earthquake/Earth Power). Steelix can EQ it (but doesn't particularly enjoy being hit back).

Ninetales - Arcanine doesn't really care about either of its attacks, ignores Hypnosis, and out damages it. Aqua Jet and Rain Dance/Surf are always back ups.

Omastar - Usually under rain, which means their Rain Dance sets up my Ludicolo to throw a 4x effective 60 BP Grass Knot in their face, while 4x resisting their water attacks. Venusaur can always revenge.

Pinsir - Honchkrow Drill Peck/Sucker Punch. Steelix. Revenge by Azumarill.

Poliwrath - Honchkrow, Steelix explodes, Ludicolo Grass Knots 80 BP, Venusaur.

Porygon2 - Steelix walls it and sets up. Arcanine's always good for a solid hit.

Primeape - Honchkrow or Steelix.

Probopass - Usually attempting to trap Steelix (not the best idea, guys). Iron Head or Earthquake it back. Azumarill hits it hard with Aqua Tail, or Ludicolo's Surf.

Quagsire - Grass. Bye. The hard thing is catching it with the attacks. They tend to stay far far away from Venusaur and Ludi. The various water attacks hit it hard too.

Raikou - Steelix handles SubCM varients, unless they're carrying a weird HP. Venusaur can incapacitate and many can revenge.

Regigigas - Considering how long it needs to be an offensive threat, I presume Toxic is a good strategy.

Regirock - Azumarill, Venusaur, Ludicolo, or Steelix. Slower than Azumarill, so she can even Aqua Tail for extra damage if I want to, which helps because people frequently switch out.

Regice - Steelix Iron Head and Arcanine's Flare Blitz.

Registeel - Steelix (Earthquake) and Arcanine (Fire).

Roserade - Arcanine takes care of leads (Fire) and Scarfers (2HKO Extreme Speed). Honchkrow is useful too.

Rotom - Honchkrow outspeeds and take it out with her STAB attacks. Arcanine does OK, ignoring the TWave, but risks being hit hard by Thunderbolt. Steelix is immune to Electric, but doesn't do much back (stupid levitate).

Sceptile - Specs is a bitch frequently, but Rosey can take it. Steelix isn't horrible with the psychical ones, and Arcanine resists the STAB and Intimidates. Honchkrow's always around as well for STAB Drill Pecks.

Scyther - Stealth Rock and Steelix. Arcanine's a good back up.

Sharpedo - Grass Knot has surprisingly 80 BP. Or Venusaur. Steelix can explode. Arcanine can always revenge.

Shaymin - Venusaur's my general switch in, taking the grass attack easily and outspeeding. Arcanine or Honchkrow can revenge it, and Rain Dance/Ice Beam from Ludicolo isn't bad.

Slaking - Steelix is the only things that can take hits, but Venusaur can sleep it and more than a few outrun it.

Staraptor - A good dance between various team members - Steelix, Honchkrow, Venusaur (sleep), Arcanine.

Steelix - Fire, Grass, or either water attack. Not really an issue.

Shuckle - Steelix actually hits it reasonably hard with Iron Head and is immune to Toxic. The water types can hit it as well. Plus! Slower than Azumarill so Aqua Tail's extra damage over Aquajet. Venusaur hits it hard too.

Slowbro - According to plan, Exploded on. Ludicolo's Grass Knot is always good, as well as Venusaur or Arcanine's Toxic on the switch. Honchkrow plays mind games and can hit it pretty good too.

Spiritomb - Honchkrow's not a bad counter. Arcanine takes a significant chunk out of it with Flare Blitz. Rain Dance STAB Surf hits hard as well.

Swellow - Steelix walls it, Arcanine and Azumarill can also revenge.

Tauros - Covered by a combination of Steelix, Honchkrow, and outrunning it with Venusaur and Arcanine's Extremespeed / Azumarill's Aqua Jet.

Typhlosion - Not a big threat. Especially since Ludicolo sets up Rain Dance, killing Sunny beaming variants. Aqua Jet is an awesome Eruption destroyer. Or even Extreme Speed.

Umbreon - Arcanine Toxics it and Steelix walls Curse versions who don't BP. Steelix is also good for killing those BP chains by just 'sploding. Rosey can sleep it to prevent the pass.

Ursaring - Hits hard, but not a long laster. Honchkrow, Steelix and Mismagius should be able to take care of it. Again, Extremespeed and Aqua Jet can help.

Uxie - Honchy hurts it good. Arcanine's Toxic on leads or those not ResTalking.

Venusaur - Arcanine can Flare Blitz. Honchkrow Drill Peck. Even Rain Dance/Ice Beam from Ludicolo.

Weezing - Arcanine 2HKOes with Overheat / Flare Blitz.

UR evset for venasaur is umm, just fix it.

I still think ludicolo should run energy ball, i dislike how you only have one poke benefitting from rain, perhaps change something to floatzel, or kabutops or even qwilfish.

Keep hydro pump, definitely a worthy option, so beastly in rain aswell. try to fit taunt on honchkrow over pursuit (test it), so you can abuse sucker punch and beat stallers.

Sorry just had a quick look thru

Wow. I didn't even notice what a mess Venusaur was. Thanks.

I'm trying out Registeel over Steelix, and Slowbro over Azumarill, thanks to some suggestions from Erazor.

i dislike how you only have one poke benefitting from rain, perhaps change something to floatzel, or kabutops or even qwilfish.

I'm not interested in running Rain, really. If I did, I'd make a real Rain Dance team. Like I said, i'm running it mostly as a 'stat-up' move for Ludi, as it makes her a ridiculous beast and only messes with one of my other pokemon (Arcanine).

try to fit taunt on honchkrow over pursuit (test it), so you can abuse sucker punch and beat stallers.
Not a bad idea! I'll try that.

Thanks! :)

I really don't no if he works but I suggest for you try my Hitmontop Lead :

237.gif
Hitmontop
(M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Earthquake
- Mach Punch
- Rapid Spin / Sucker Punch

Ok, i think you have a problem with Toxic Spikes and this woks well. Fake Out + Earthquake KO Roserade and Lum Berry protect you from Sleep Powder. Mach Punch for the Technician Abuse and the STAB without Def Drop. Rapid Spin is useless but can help with the Honchkrow Sweep.

Oh, if you is trying to change Azumarill for Other pokemon i would suggest Sleep Talk Milotic.

You're suggesting that I use a pokemon that you don't even know if it works? And I have a toxic spikes problem when Venusaur just comes in and absorbs them?

Seriously?
