Intro: Well, after a pretty long hiatus I got back into Pokemon and this is my latest team. I think it could use some work and the overall flow of the team could be better.

Changes in Red.

Metagross @ Lum Berry
Bag_Lum_Berry_Sprite.png

Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/232 Atk/12 Def/12 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Stealth Rock
Meteor Mash
Bullet Punch
Earthquake
---
Description: Well, Metagross isn't a top lead for no reason. He performs extremely well. Stealth Rock is a no brainer on a lead and helps tremendously. Meteor Mash + Bullet Punch along with Lum Berry lets me beat just about any sleep lead which is nice. Finally, we have Earthquake. I'd say Earthquake is mainly here for coverage, but it does hit a couple of leads like Infernape who's beaten by the combo of Earthquake + Bullet Punch and it 2HKOs opposing Metagross leads. All in all, Metagross usually puts me in a favorable position to start the match and is nice to have around later in the game to soak up Dragon hits.

EVs: Standard EVs from the analysis except with 4 more Spd EVs to outpace 8 Spd Metagross.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Bag_Choice_Band_Sprite.png

Ability: Technician
EVs: 200 HP/252 Atk/56 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Bullet Punch
U-turn
Pursuit
Superpower
---
Description: Really standard, but he works. Bullet Punch is a must allowing Scizor to revenge many big threats like Salamence, Tyranitar, etc. U-turn is really great, allowing me to scout and also deals heavy damage to most anything that switches in and works great alongside my other U-Turner who you'll see in a second. Scizor is also my main trapper / revenge killer so that's why Pursuit is here. Pursuit makes Scizor one of the best Latias counters and also traps numerous Pokemon which I'm sure you guys are well aware of. Superpower is probably the move that gets the least use but can be useful in situations, like predicting a Heatran switch in or something similar.

EVs: I'm not entirely sure where I got this EV spread from but I guess it's standard CB Scizor except it can take Special hits a bit better.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Bag_Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk/196 Spd/60 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
Close Combat
Mach Punch
U-turn
Overheat
---
Description: Physically based MixApe has done great for me and I'm really liking him. Close Combat with the extra attack EVs really puts a hurt on things. It also 2HKOs Vaporeon I believe. Now, I'm not entirely sure why I have Mach Punch here, But I guess priority is always helpful and if some of my teammates go down it can prevent DDtar and Lucario from sweeping me, but I'm willing to replace it. U-turn is a really helpful move here seeing as Ape does a great job at luring out Latias & Starmie. It may not KO them but it nets me great position to trap them with Scizor. Overheat is the fire move of choice here with the low number of Special Attack EVs and actually puts out similar damage to MixApe Fire Blast.

I'm starting to question using Life Orb and U-turn as SR + LO damage quickly takes its toll. So any other item recommendations are appreciated.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Bag_Leftovers_Sprite.png

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
Rest
Sleep Talk
Roar
Waterfall
---
Description: This guy seems a bit out of place here, and no doubt he is. I just haven't found an alternative set yet and he's doing a decent job. Rest + Sleep Talk makes Gyarados my status absorber and with his great bulk, gives him great staying power. Roar is there to give stat-uppers some trouble and having a Phazer is always a good idea. Waterfall is the STAB move of choice here.

Testing Stone Edge > Roar to better deal with opposing Gyarados.

EVs:
Yet another standard EV spread from the analysis, this spread gives him great bulk.

Latias @ Life Orb
Bag_Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Draco Meteor
Surf
Thunderbolt
Recover
---
Description: Life Orb Latias is pretty cool, but I'm thinking of switching to Specs. Any comments regarding that are appreciated. Draco Meteor is a great move for Latias and is probably the move I use the most. Surf is here to 2HKO Scizor and Tyranitar that switch in expecting to trap me only to get outsped and KOd. Having those two out of the way is nice for my late game sweeper. Thunderbolt is mainly here to take on Gyarados seeing how this team has some problems if I allow him to setup. Recover is rarely used but I guess nice for when I get a chance to use it.

EVs:
252 / 252 spread for maximum power and speed. Pretty simple.

Currently testing Choice Specs with Trick > Recover.

Raikou @ Life Orb
Bag_Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Calm Mind
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power [Fighting]
---
Description: I've always liked Raikou, so I thought I'd try him out in OU. Even with his drop into UU, he can still sweep unprepared teams in OU and has done pretty good for me so far. I decided to run the Offensive Booster set from the analysis as the SubCM set seems a bit dated. Calm Mind is pretty self explanatory, boosting Raikou's Special Attack & Defense. Thunderbolt is his main STAB move and after a boost or two, and the added SAtk EVs it nets quite a bit of KOs. Most notably a +1 Thunderbolt OHKOs Salamence, Heatran, and Scizor. Shadow Ball is nice to have since its so easy for Raikou to setup on Rotom-A and after a boost it OHKOs it. It also 2HKOs Latias which gives SubCM Raikou problems. Lastly, I chose Hidden Power [Fighting] so I can KO Tyranitar who's one of Raikou's main counters. I chose it over HP [Grass] because I figure I can KO or wear down Swampert enough before the late game that I won't need it.

EVs: Another 252 / 252 spread. 252 SAtk lets me get notable KOs on Pokemon such as Salamence and Rotom-A after a single boost and 252 Spd lets me atleast tie with other base 115's.

And thats my team, rates are appreciated.

I think a much better alternative for your current Gyarados would be a BulkyGyara. BulkyGyara can't be phazed away because it has taunt, and also taunts status users too. RestTalk Gyara just slows down the pace of your team, which is really dissapointing for an offensive team like this. You really don't need a status absorber for a team like this, since if the opponent even tries to status you, they get severely hurt with your boosted moves. It will also serve as good switchin to Infernape, Lucario, and Scizor. Also, I reccomend changing Raikou for Jolteon. Jolteon makes a better boosting sweeper because of Charge Beam, so you don't have to lose a slot to Calm Mind. I'd run a moveset of Charge Beam, Shadow Ball, HP Grass, and Thunderbolt, with the item Life Orb. Just run max/max and a Timid Nature. Jolteon also has a speed advantage over Raikou, something that could prove invaluable against a DDed Gyarados or whatever. I hope this helps, and good luck with the team!

Hello thar. (Insert 2nd sentence here).

Anyway, you seem to have most of your threats dealt with. However, there are two Pokemon that you seem to have trouble with: Agility Metagross and DD Gyarados. Both of them, after they set up, can OHKO or 2HKO your entire team with their attacks. Fortunately, one Pokemon can handle both of them for you: Rotom-h. Using a Scarf version of Rotom-h can provide a good check for both Metagross and Gyarados, while also providing with a way to check Lucario. I'd recommend this over Gyarados, as it's a way to keep up your offensive momentum. By replacing Gyarados with this, you do lose a Resttalker, a phazer, and a switchin to Fire Blasts, but you gain the ability to cripple stall with Trick along with an alternate check to SD Lucario.

Rotom-h @ Choice Scarf
Timid | 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Thunderbolt / Overheat / Shadow Ball / Trick

Thunderbolt is to handle DD Gyarados, while Overheat is there to smash Metagross and Lucario. Shadow Ball is an alternate STAB source, while Trick can be used to cripple Blissey.

With this change, I'd advocate for not changing the item and moveset of Latias. You really want Recover in order to heal off any Fire Blasts you might take, as you no longer have Gyarados there to help you out with it.

Also agreeing with Sprinkle's rate, I recommend changing your Raikou to a Jolteon, except with HP Grass over HP Fighting. Currently, your team doesn't really like fighting Swampert apart from Draco Meteors from Latias. With HP Grass, you can nab a swift KO on Swampert. Also by using Jolteon, you basically outspeed all of the non-Scarfed metagame (except for other Jolteons because Aerodactyl are rarely seen outside of the lead spot), while with Raikou, you can still lose to Starmie, especially since you were running HP Fighting. Jolteon also gives you another check to Adamant DD Gyarados, as Jolly versions outspeed Jolteon.

Good luck!
