Pengu

the hisuian version of glaceon
is a Top Team Rateris a Contributor to Smogon
[SET]
Bulky Support (Glimmora) @ Red Card / Air Balloon
Ability: Toxic Debris
Level: 50
Tera Type: Grass / Fairy
EVs: 244 HP / 236 Def / 28 SpD or 244 HP / 76 Def / 188 SpD
Bold Nature
- Mortal Spin / Toxic Spikes
- Power Gem
- Mud Shot / Endure
- Stealth Rock

[SET COMMENTS]
* With its good utility, ability, and coverage, Glimmora is one of the best supportive Pokemon in Regulation J.

* **Mortal Spin**: Mortal Spin provides entry hazard removal and also spreads poison, chipping down bulky Pokemon like Arceus-Fairy and Ho-Oh.

* **Power Gem**: Power Gem hits Pokemon such as Chien-Pao and the aforementioned Ho-Oh.

* **Mud Shot versus Endure**: Mud Shot is a solid option to tickle Steel-types like Archaludon while crucially lowering foes' Speed. Endure ensures that Glimmora survives a move such as Earthquake from Landorus-T, allowing it to get another layer of Toxic Spikes down before getting KOed.

* **Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock gives Glimmora even more utility by applying pressure to Pokemon such as Dragonite.

Other Options
========

* **Toxic Spikes**: Toxic Spikes is nice for bulkier teams, namely Lugia teams, as they depend more on the passive chip damage to break through opposing walls. Choosing this does give up the invaluable entry hazard control option in Mortal Spin, however.

* **Sludge Wave**: Sludge Wave is a very strong STAB option for Glimmora, hitting foes like Ogerpon-W and Rillaboom. Using Sludge Wave, however, means dropping valuable utility in Stealth Rock or dropping Power Gem, which hits far more important targets such as Ho-Oh harder than Sludge Wave can.

* **Energy Ball**: Energy Ball is a great coverage option for Glimmora, annoying Pokemon like Ting-Lu and Dondozo more than poison can. This does, however, come at the cost of dropping an important utility option or STAB move.

Items
========

* **Red Card**: Red Card forces foes to take extra entry hazard damage and potentially shuts down setup sweepers if Glimmora survives a hit.

* **Air Balloon**: Glimmora's severe Ground-type weakness gets patched up by Air Balloon, letting it set up in front of Ground-types along the lines of Landorus-T and Ting-Lu.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - Low**: Being a supportive Pokemon, Glimmora typically doesn't need to Terastallize despite its pretty bad defensive typing; Terastallization would be better spent on a more offensive ally.

* **Grass**: Tera Grass provides Glimmora with Ground- and Water-type resistances, notably letting it take hits from the likes of Ursaluna-B and Kyogre, while also granting it a Electric-type resistance for pesky Miraidon.

* **Fairy**: Tera Fairy allows Glimmora to come in on Koraidon's Scale Shot, preventing it from running away with the game after Scale Shot's boosts.

EV Spreads
========

* **244 HP / 236 Def / 28 SpD with Bold**: This is the recommended EV spread, letting Glimmora avoid a 2HKO from Adamant Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash.

* **244 HP / 76 Def / 188 SpD with Bold**: This more specially defensive spread lets Glimmora avoid a 2HKO from Choice Specs Tera Fairy Timid Flutter Mane's Moonblast and generally avoid a 2HKO from Jolly Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash.

EV Spreads section should be last to stay in line with how analyses are structured for bss.

Content wise this is mostly good. There’s a few notes though

- Red card glimmora will often run endure to be able to punish stuff like koraidon trying to scale shot past it.

- This needs a blurb about Mud Shot, it’s arguably glimmora’s best offensive move, making it harder to set up on by denying potential speed boosts and slowing stuff like Calyrex down to allow it to be revenge killed, this is pivotal for glimmora’s teammates

- earth power should at best be in other options. Mud Shot is the preferred ground move on this glimmora set (top 10 used moves are shown below)
IMG_5486.jpeg

- Toxic Spikes can be in other options, it’s just for teams that absolutely NEED tspikes to go up (Lugia teams mostly that rely on residual damage to enable a sweep)

- Energy Ball should also at best be in other options. It’s not in the top 10 moves however it does pop up here and there to annoy Dondozo and Ting-Lu beyond mortal spin poison.

Id probably have the sample set read something like
[SET]
Bulky Support (Glimmora) @ Red Card / Air Balloon
Ability: Toxic Debris
Level: 50
Tera Type: Grass / Fairy
EVs: 244 HP / 236 Def / 28 SpD or 244 HP / 76 Def / 188 SpD
Bold Nature
- Mortal Spin / Toxic Spikes
- Power Gem
- Mud Shot / Endure
- Stealth Rock

- Tera Fairy is noted as a slash and I’ll elaborate here: It’s a crucial Tera option for teams that rely on revenge killing stuff like Koraidon (Calyrex teams etc) by denying the use of scale shot and subsequent speed boost that would otherwise allow Koraidon to run away with the game

Implement these and I’ll check again!

* **Power Gem**: Power Gem is Glimmora's main choice of STAB, (fluff) hitting hits Pokemon such as Chien-Pao and the aforementioned Ho-Oh.

* **Mud Shot vs versus Endure**: Mud Shot is a solid option to tickle Steel-types like Archaludon while crucially lowering theopponent's foes' Speed. Endure ensures that Glimmora survives a hit such as Earthquake from Landorus-T, meaning that allowing it can to get another layer of Toxic Spikes down before getting KOed.

* **Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock gives Glimmora even more utility (RC) as it lets it apply by applying pressure to Pokemon such as Dragonite.

Other Options
========

* **Toxic Spikes**: Toxic Spikes are is nice for bulkier teams, namely Lugia teams, as they depend fore more on the passive chip damage to break through opposing walls. This Choosing this does give up the invaluable entry hazard control option in Mortal Spin, however.

* **Sludge Wave**: Sludge Wave is a very strong STAB option for Glimmora, hitting foes like Ogerpon-W and Rillaboom. Using Sludge Wave, however, means dropping Earth Power, (Earth Power is not a main option, this is also the only mention of it in this analysis) which hits far more than Sludge Wave does, or dropping valuable coverage in Energy Ball (Energy Ball isn't one of the main options on the set. Is there a reason why this is included here?) or even more valuable utility in Stealth Rock.

* **Energy Ball**: Energy Ball is a great coverage option for Glimmora, annoying Pokemon like Ting-Lu and Dondozo further more than poison can. This does, however, come at the cost of dropping an important utility option or STAB move.

Items
========

* **Red Card**: Red Card forces Pokemon out, (dex info) making opponents foes to take extra entry hazard damage and potentially shutting shuts down set up setup sweepers (RC) if Glimmora survives a hit.

* **Air Balloon**: Glimmora's severe Ground-type weakness gets patched up by Air Balloon, letting it set up in front of Ground-types along the lines of Landorus-T and Ting-Lu.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - Low**: Being a supportive Pokemon, Glimmora typically doesn't need to use Tera and it Terastallize despite its pretty bad defensive typing; Terastallization would be better spent on a more offensive ally (RC) even though Glimmora has a pretty bad defensive typing.

* **Grass**: Tera Grass provides Glimmora with a Ground- and Water-type resistance resistances, notably letting it take hits from the likes of Ursaluna-B and Kyogre, while also granting it a Electric-type resistance for pesky Miraidon.

* **Fairy**: Tera Fairy allows Glimmora to come in on Koraidon's Scale Shot, preventing it from running away with the game after Scale Shot's boosts.

EV Spreads
========

* **244 HP / 236 Def / 28 SpD with Bold**: This is the recommended EV spread, avoiding letting Glimmora avoid a 2HKO from Adamant Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash off of Adamant Chien-Pao. (consistency with wording in the next bullet point)

* **244 HP / 76 Def / 188 SpDef SpD with Bold**: This spread, being more specially defensive (RC) avoids spread lets Glimmora avoid a 2HKO from Choice Specs Tera Fairy Timid Flutter Mane Mane's [add specific move here] and almost always avoids avoid a 2HKO from Jolly Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash. (252 Atk Sword of Ruin Chien-Pao Icicle Crash vs. 244 HP / 76+ Def Glimmora: 84-99 (44.4 - 52.3%) -- 18% chance to 2HKO → idt 82% chance would be considered "almost always", would it be better to replace that with "generally"?)
