Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Judging by the condition of both battlers and the tense atmosphere it feels as if we're coming toward the end of this fight between Mist the Togepi and Balsamus the Embirch. Let's check how both are getting on:
Rolf OOO
Togepi [Mist] (F)
HP: 27 Energy: 29 Status: Almost an omlette. Actions: Extrasensory ~ Psycho Shock ~ Morning Sun
Acting first due to her foes paralysis, Mist fires off an Extrasensory at the Embirch. This doesn't stop Balsamus from clambering out of the pond, but it does cause her to flinch!
Balsamus crawls away from the pond as Mist gloats and fires off her second attack - a powerful Psycho Shock that sends Balsamus rolling over to a tree.
Unwilling to be Mist's psychic punching-bag any longer, Balsamus roars and begins to charge a Solarbeam. Content with her efforts so far, Mist uses her final Morning Sun and restores 25hp. A sudden blast to the face reduces her confidence, however, and she is now so tired that she's finding it difficult to get up!
Feeling slightly better now that she's taken out her rage on that dastardly Togepi, Balsamus stands up and shakes off her paralysis. The Pokémon are standing a few feet away from each other, parallel to the pond.
Here are the standings at the end of this nail-biting round!
Rolf OOO
Togepi [Mist] (F)
HP: 38 Energy: 2 Status: Eggstraordinarly tired.
HP: 14 Energy: 49 Status: No longer paralysed. Worked up.
Can Mist do anything before succumbing to Balsamus? It's time to find out - Rolf, your orders please.
If you're being thrown around by Psychic powers, are you really going to stop for a distraction attack? Especially when all of Mist's attacks have happened already.
It's an energy dilemma for Mist the Togepi - will she be able to solve it and survive? It's time to find out! Let's take a quick glance at the well-being of the two combatants.
HP: 14 Energy: 49 Status: No longer paralysed. Worked up. Actions: Giga Drain ~ Nitro Charge ~ Solarbeam
Fortunate that she's no longer paralysed, Balsamus is quick to start. She sucks life from Mist using Giga Drain, restoring 5HP! Though obviously displeased at a wood-clad vampire drinking her life-force, Mist settles for Chilling, restoring 12% energy!
Feeling better from that quick chill, Mist launches a Thunderwave, hoping for paralysis which has helped her greatly in the past. However Balsamus is just too quick, and has already used Nitro Charge to speed away into a tree.
Seeing a great beam of light being prepared among some branches, Mist attempts to use Extrasensory, though only half of its full force resonates within Balsamus' mind. Unfortunately for Mist, she cannot avoid the incoming Solarbeam, which deals massive damage.
Even though she took the time to chill, Mist is in an even worse position energy-wise than she was last round. Neither combatant looks particularly healthy either! Here are the standings at the end of what could be the penultimate round of this battle:
Rolf OOO
Togepi [Mist] (F)
HP: 14 Energy: 1 Status: Almost ready to serve up.
HP: 13 Energy: 32 Status: Would quite like some egg.
Your Togepi has many excellent moves; however, most if not all of them have high Energy costs that drain her quickly while Balsamus stays strong. You also rely a lot on luck, which, despite Serene Grace, doesn't always pull through.
All right, Balsamus, we've got this egg in the pan! From your tree, fire another Solarbeam, followed by Seed Bomb to damage Mist and block off Thunder Wave. Finish up with the biggest Solarbeam you can muster!
Point is, NC's more than 25% consistent. And it's cheap. Not that luck isn't a viable strategy, but it works best with (originally) 20%-chance moves or better.
Extremely well-fought, though, no matter who the winner. I respect the egg.
Something inside so strong gives me the feeling that the end to this battle could be rather anti-climatic... Anyway, here's a recap as usual!
Rolf OOO
Togepi [Mist] (F)
HP: 14 Energy: 1 Status: Almost ready to serve up.
HP: 13 Energy: 32 Status: Would quite like some egg.
With few options left for him and Mist, Rolf orders Mist to dive into the pond to be protected from Balsamus. She picks herself up and runs on stubby legs over to the pond.
Balsamus used Solarbeam.
Mist just wasn't fast enough to get to the pond in time, now desperately wanting to get into the pond though she hadn't enjoyed being in it earlier. At the end of that round here are the standings (though I'm sure you can guess them).

Togepi [Mist] (F)
HP: KO Energy: 1 Status: How do you like your eggs in the morning?
HP: 13 Energy: 25 Status: And they say that Pokémon don't eat other? Eww... OH GOSH NO AGHH THAT'S HORRIBLE
Balsamus has received 1 KO counter.
Rolf, send out your next Pokémon and issue attacks.
I still can't see nitro charge being that fast. Maybe it works once on an rng roll, but when it can dose every one of my wave unless I work around.........
Go boyd use gyro ball until you kill then use spikes with remaining actions
Nitro Boost: The Pokemon intensifies their internal or external fire supply to charge at their opponent with unnatural speed and searing heat. The attack provides a one (1) stage boost to speed.
It's a proximity thing - Balsamus was easily far enough away to dodge it.
...Ahem. You're probably going to go down soon; just hurt it and keep it from using Spikes!
Start by dropping out of the tree and rushing Boyd with Flame Wheel! After that, Nitro Charge straight into it, then keep going and use Ember from a distance! It's not like we can't take care of Boyd with somebody else...
Here's an unnecessary recap of that lonely, lonely Pokémon Balsamus!
HP: 13 Energy: 25 Status: And they say that Pokémon don't eat other? Eww... OH GOSH NO AGHH THAT'S HORRIBLE
For his next Pokémon Rolf choses his Ferroseed, Boyd!
Ferroseed(*) Boyd (M) Nature: Careful (Special Attack decreased by *; Special Defense increased by *) Stats:
HP: 90
Atk: **
Def: ***
SpA: *(-1)
SpD: ****(+)
Spe: 10
Looks like a prick. Ohohoho
Outpacing Boyd many times over, Balsamus nimbly drops out of the tree and rams in the Ferroseed with Flame Wheel. While this deals significant damage, it also deals a sizeable amount to Balsamus due to Steel Thorns. Obviously annoyed at being subjected to the attack, Boyd retaliates with a powerful Gyro Ball which fells Balsamus despite the resistance.
Boyd gains 1 KO counter.
The Ferroseed then seizes the opportunity to scatter Spikes all around the field.
...then it does it again.
So here are the standings at the end of this super exciting round!

Ferroseed(*) Boyd (M)
HP: 66 Energy: 81 Status: In a nutshell.

HP: KO Energy: 25 Status: Made into vinegar.
mewtwo15026, please send out your next Pokémon and attack.
See if you can't use Aerial Ace to evade the spikes and get out of the way of T-wave; even if you can't, at least hit it for something. Next, try the same with Dragon Dance to dodge whatever it does next AND get in a nice boost. Finish the round with a Fire Fang to sear that vegetable!
Happy with his Pokémon's performance, though still annoyed that she fell, mewtwo15026 calls back Balsamus and releases his next Pokémon:
Beware the Uberwocky
the jaws that bite, the claws that catch
beware the Uberbird...
It's Uberwocky the Bagon!
Bagon(*) Uberwocky (F) Nature: Naive (Special Defense reduced by *; A 15% increase in Base Speed [Rounded Up] and a +5% flat increase in accuracy (e.g. 85 Accuracy becomes 90) on this Pokemon's attacks. Stats:
HP: 90
Atk: ***
Def: ***
SpA: **
SpD: * (-1)
Spe: 58 (50 x 1.15^)
Upon being sent out, Uberwocky falls onto the spikes lain by Boyd, taking 12hp damage! So with that, let's see how both combatants are doing.
Rolf XOO
Ferroseed(*) Boyd (M)
HP: 66 Energy: 81 Status: In a nutshell. Actions: Leech Seed ~ Thunderwave ~ Curse
mewtwo15026 XOO
Bagon(*) Uberwocky (F) HP: 78 Energy: 100 Status: Fresh as fresh can be! Well, apart from the spikes... Actions: Aerial Ace ~ Dragon Dance ~ Fire Fang
Uberwocky begins by putting on her biggles helmet and rushing towards Boyd - it looks like he's preparing an Aerial Ace! Scoring a light hit, Uberwocky only just manages to avoid Boyd's Leech Seed.
The Bagon then uses Dragon Dance in an attempt to gain a lovely, lovely boost but due to how close she is to Boyd he has no problem paralysing Uberwocky in a very nasty, nasty place with Thunderwave.
Enraged, Uberwocky still manages to get off a Fire Fang which, boosted by Dragon Dance, deals severe damage to the fire-weak fruit, but causes Uberwocky to wince due to Steel Thorns. Unperturbed, however (is it even possible to perturb a prickly nut?), Boyd finishes proceedings with a Curse, bracing himself for the assaults of the next round.
So after an impressive display of power from the new Pokémon on the field, let's see how both of them are holding up.
Ferroseed(*) Boyd (M)
HP: 42 Energy: 60 Status: +1 Atk, +1 Def, -1 Spe. Searching for a vorpal sword, though he has no arms with which to wield it.
Bagon(*) Uberwocky (F) HP: 71 Energy: 85 Status: +1 Atk, +1 Spe. Whiffling through the tulgey wood.
What can Boyd do to combat these powerful attacks? It's over to Rolf to find out.
Eh...with your Speed cut from Paralysis, Gyro Ball's not that much to worry about anymore.
Start with another Fire Fang for tasty, tasty damage. Next, Dragon Dance so your boost will carry on to next turn. (Heck, you might even dodge Gyro Ball.) Finally, roast that nut with Fire Fang!
Fire Fang~Dragon Dance~Fire Fang Because everyone loves roasted nuts.
We ended last round on a cliffhanger, wondering if Boyd could pull himself around. It's time to find out! Let's have a quick recap.
Rolf XOO
Ferroseed(*) Boyd (M)
HP: 42 Energy: 60 Status: +1 Atk, +1 Def, -1 Spe. Searching for a vorpal sword, though he has no arms with which to wield it.
mewtwo15026 XOO
Bagon(*) Uberwocky (F) HP: 71 Energy: 85 Status: +1 Atk, +1 Spe. Whiffling through the tulgey wood.
Uberwocky begins the round by filling her jaws with flame again and striking with another Fire Fang, searing the iron nut again. Boyd retaliates with a maximum-power Gyro Ball, at such high power despite Uberwocky's paralysis.
In an attempt to dodge the incoming attack, Uberwocky uses Dragon Dance and gains some boosts in the process. However it cannot escape Boyd's second Gyro Ball.
Wanting revenge for her failed tactics, Uberwocky uses Fire Fang again. Once more, Boyd uses Gyro Ball - quite an energy drain!
So at the end of that literally ballin' round, here are the stats:
Ferroseed(*) Boyd (M)
HP: 18 Energy: 33 Status: Could be a roast nut soon.
So it seems in a high-damage round we've rapidly progressed from an intermediate stage in the battle to an endgame segment! That was some costly energy use from Boyd too...
How did Gyro Ball get to max power against a paralyzed opponent? May I see how this was determined? (Granted, I doubt Ubie should be anywhere above 25 HP, but still...)
All right, Ubie, spam Fire Fang until that thing's KO'd. Once it goes down, Chill for your remaining actions.
Fire Fang~Fire Fang~Fire Fang
Note: In the description it says Gyro Ball still hit for max power. That would mean 15 base power + 3 for STAB + 1.5 for boosts - 1.5 for stars. That's 18 damage per Gyro Ball, along with another 6 damage done through Steel Thorns, leaving Uberwocky at 11 HP? I've probably missed something stupid.
