Roselia is commonly used as an offensive entry hazard setter due to its high Special Attack and ability to help offensive teammates like Fraxure and Raboot by putting other Pokemon in range of their attacks with Spikes. Leaf Storm is Roselia's strongest STAB move, allowing it to hit a wide range of Pokemon in the metagame such as Mareanie and Hattrem for a lot of damage. Sludge Bomb allows Roselia to hit Grass- and Fairy-types such as Dartrix, Morgrem, and Clefairy while also potentially punishing switch-ins such as Vullaby with its poison chance. Sleep Powder targets switch-ins and setup sweepers alike, rendering them ineffective, such as Klang, Wartortle, and Duosion. Extrasensory allows Roselia to hit Pokemon like Mareanie and Machoke hard without dropping stats while also preventing Roselia from being walled by Koffing and Hakamo-o
Roselia functions as an offensive Spikes setter that performs best on balance and offensive teams. Offensive Pokemon appreciate the extra damage Spikes provides; thus, wallbreakers such as Kadabra, Machoke, and Galarian Linoone all pair well with it thanks to the amount of offensive pressure they apply. Stealth Rock support from Pokemon such as Piloswine, Galarian Corsola, and Carkol all make it easier for Roselia to pressure Pokemon such as Vullaby and Raboot. Piloswine and Carkol are worth mentioning particularly thanks to their ability to check Flying- and Fire-types such as Vullaby, Torracat, and Lampent. Roselia pairs well with Ghost-types such as Galarian Corsola and Drakloak thanks to their ability to spinblock. Roselia appreciates VoltTurn users such as Raboot and Klang because they are able to capitalize on hazard pressure and can bring Roselia in safely with pivot moves. Setup sweepers such as Klang, Wartortle, and Duosion all appreciate Roselia's ability to set Spikes, which weakens their respective checks such as Machoke, Galarian Linoone, and opposing Roselia. Roselia is threatened by Psychic-types such as Kadabra and Hattrem, so Pokemon that can help mitigate them, such as Klang and Vullaby, are appreciated. Additionally, Piloswine can prove to be an issue for Roselia, so Pokemon such as Machoke, Wartortle, and Galarian Corsola pair well with it.

Thanks to Roselia's great defensive typing and solid bulk, it can function as a check to Pokemon such as Tangela, Wartortle, and Brionne. Sludge Bomb is Roselia's primary STAB move and allows it to hit Fairy-types super effectively like Clefairy and Morgrem while also having the potential to punish switch-ins such as Vullaby and Hattrem via its chance to poison. Giga Drain allows Roselia to reliably beat Shell Smash Wartortle while also providing it with a means of recovery. Synthesis provides Roselia with more reliable recovery, allowing it to more effectively perform its role as a special wall. Spikes provides great utility in pressuring opposing grounded Pokemon and sometimes putting them in range of Roselia's attacks. Alternatively, both Sleep Powder and Shadow Ball are options on Roselia. Sleep Powder allows Roselia a way to punish switch-ins such as Raboot and Vullaby. Shadow Ball allows Roselia to more effectively pressure Lampent, Gastly, Hattrem, and Galarian Corsola, but Sludge Bomb is often preferred thanks to its reliability as a STAB move.
Roselia fits best on balance and bulky offense builds thanks to its ability to provide its teammates with entry hazard support via Spikes. Roselia should switch in on special attackers that it checks such as Tangela and Wartortle and threaten them out with coverage or STAB moves, respectively. However, if the opposing team contains a Hattrem or another Grass-type, Roselia should attack or double out on the predicted switch rather than set Spikes. Roselia pairs well with physical walls that can help mitigate its lack of physical defense such as Machoke, Galarian Corsola, and Vullaby. Wallbreakers and setup sweepers that appreciate Spikes support such as Kadabra, Klang, and Wartortle all pair well with it as well. Pokemon that provide Stealth Rock support such as Piloswine, Galarian Corsola, and Carkol all create an entry hazard core when paired with Roselia. Thanks to their ability to spinblock, Ghost-types most notably being Galarian Corsola, pair well with Roselia. Lastly, Roselia appreciates the removal of Psychic-, Flying-, Fire-, and Ice-types, namely Hattrem, Dartrix, Raboot, and Choice Band Piloswine therefore; Pokemon such as Klang, Vullaby, and Galarian Corsola pair well with it.

Choice Specs allows Roselia to break Pokemon that other variants wouldn't, such as Galarian Corsola, Vullaby, and opposing Roselia. Leaf Storm is Roselia's strongest STAB move, allowing it to punish Pokemon that may try to switch-in such as Hattrem and Carkol. Sludge Bomb allows Roselia to break Pokemon such as Clefairy as well as common Flying-types switch-ins such as Vullaby and Dartrix. Giga Drain provides Roselia with a passive form of recovery while also being a Grass-type STAB move that does not reduce its Special Attack. Shadow Ball allows Roselia to hit Lampent and Drakloak while also being its best option for hitting Ferroseed. Extrasensory is an option over Shadow Ball should Roselia need to hit Grass-resistant Pokemon such as Koffing and Hakomo-o.
Choice Specs Roselia fits best on offensive and balance builds that lack a reliable breaker. Slow pivots such as Teleport Clefairy and U-turn Vullaby allow Roselia to switch in with ease. Additionally, Roselia can switch in on more passive Pokemon such as Galarian Corsola and Clefairy. Because of the Special Attack drop that Leaf Storm induces, it is best to use it against Pokemon that it can OHKO. Setup sweepers such as Wartortle and Klang appreciate Roselia's ability to remove or weaken bulkier Pokemon such as Machoke and Galarian Corsola. Roselia appreciates Pokemon that can help mitigate its weakness to Ice-, Fire-, and Psychic-types such as Galarian Linoone and Pilowine. Piloswine in particular is worth mentioning thanks to its access to Stealth Rock as well as its ability to threaten Klang and Ferroseed, which otherwise wall Roselia. Pokemon that can take advantage of Klang and Ferroseed, such as Machoke, Thwackey, and Lampent, can all prevent Roselia from being used as setup fodder.
