[OVERVIEW]
Roserade has found its place in RU as a Spiker that is able to stand up to the top Electric-types Raikou and Xurkitree. Once it switches in, its good STAB combination can be difficult for teams without a particularly bulky Steel- or Poison-type to handle. Its Spikes support is greatly appreciated by wallbreakers and setup sweepers, as it helps to wear down their conventional checks. Additionally, Natural Cure Roserade is one of the best switch-ins to bulky Water-types such as Milotic and Suicune, being able to negate Scald burns. However, Roserade's low Defense and average Speed are easily exploited by physical attackers such as Barraskewda, Choice Scarf Mienshao, and Choice Scarf Heracross. While Roserade's main opportunities to switch in are against Pokemon such as Raikou, Xurkitree, and Milotic, these Pokemon can easily pivot out with Volt Switch or Flip Turn. Roserade is also pressured by common Flying-types such as Crobat and Noivern, which KO it with their STAB moves immediately or after a bit of prior damage.

[SET]
name: Spikes
move 1: Spikes
move 2: Giga Drain / Leaf Storm
move 3: Sludge Bomb
move 4: Synthesis / Sleep Powder
item: Heavy-Duty Boots / Black Sludge
ability: Natural Cure
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Giga Drain keeps Roserade healthy without pressuring it to constantly use Synthesis. On the other hand, Leaf Storm pressures checks such as Metagross and Stakataka with Spikes up while also OHKOing offensive threats such as Xurkitree and Mienshao with Spikes on the field. Synthesis allows Roserade to more reliably check Raikou and Xurkitree. On the other hand, Sleep Powder is able to net free turns for teammate wallbreakers or setup sweepers. Heavy-Duty Boots keeps entry hazards from pressuring Roserade into repeatedly using Synthesis. However, on teams with sufficient entry hazard control, Black Sludge can be considered to provide Roserade with extra recovery, which can help it take attacks more comfortably.

Roserade is unable to hit most Steel-types, including Metagross and Registeel, for any meaningful damage. Therefore, Fighting-type wallbreakers such as Mienshao and Heracross make for good partners. They also greatly appreciate Roserade's Spikes support and ability to handle bulky Water-types such as Milotic and Suicune. Late-game sweepers such as Sharpedo and Tyrantrum also appreciate Roserade's Spikes support weakening their checks. In order to increase the effectiveness of Spikes, Knock Off users such as Incineroar and Heracross are necessary to remove Heavy-Duty Boots. Rock- and Steel-types such as Diancie, Stakataka, and Registeel check Flying-types, which threaten to easily KO Roserade and remove Spikes with Defog. Fire-types such as Darmanitan and Entei are a huge nuisance to Roserade, so bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Gastrodon, and Seismitoad complement it nicely. Gastrodon's and Seismitoad's ability to check Electric-types alleviates pressure from Roserade and prevents it from getting too worn down throughout the course of the game, especially if it chooses to run Sleep Powder over Synthesis.

Life Orb can be used with Leaf Storm to provide greater damage output and a chance to OHKO threats such as Volcanion and Necrozma while also doing more damage against Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross and Steelix. However, this comes at the cost of being more vulnerable to Electric-types due to Life Orb recoil. Grass Knot is an alternative Grass-type STAB move that provides consistent damage against Pokemon such as Stakataka, Suicune, and Raikou. However, it does not provide recovery like Giga Drain and does not have as much damage potential as Leaf Storm. Shadow Ball hits some of Roserade's conventional checks in Chandelure, Doublade, and Metagross, while Extrasensory hits Poison-types such as Crobat, Dragalge, Salazzle, and Toxtricity. However, they require Roserade to give up an important utility move.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Assault Vest Reuniclus**: Assault Vest Reuniclus is able to switch into Roserade's attacks with impunity. However, it is susceptible to being worn down by Roserade's Spikes and poison from Sludge Bomb, and it has to watch out for Sleep Powder.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Metagross and Registeel can switch into Roserade's attacks fairly freely and are immune to Sludge Bomb. However, they are prone to getting worn down by Spikes, have to watch out for Sleep Powder, and have no form of reliable recovery to offset any damage taken.

**Fast Flying-types**: Fast Flying-types such as Crobat and Noivern can be huge nuisances to Roserade, as they outspeed it and can threaten it with STAB moves. However, Noivern is unable to switch in directly, as Sludge Bomb does a lot of damage and can poison it.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Chandelure and Darmanitan threaten Roserade massively with their Fire-type STAB moves, while it is unable to OHKO them. However, they cannot act as direct switch-ins, as Sludge Bomb does decent damage and can limit their effectiveness in the long run with poison.

[OVERVIEW]
With the surge of Electric-types such as Raikou and Xurkitree in RU, Roserade has found its place as a Spiker that is able to stand up to said Pokemon. The Spikes support it is able to provide is greatly appreciated by wallbreakers such as Bewear and Heracross and setup sweepers (I think teammate examples fit best in Set Comments but you can keep them if you want. Just replace Bewear with something relevant.) as it helps to wear down their conventional checks. Additionally, with its ability Natural Cure, it is one of the best switch-ins to bulky Water-types such as Milotic and Suicune, being able to negate Scald burn, which can be a massive hindrance to most other Pokemon. However, Roserade is prone to Knock Off as losing its Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers means that it has a harder time checking Electric- and Water-types as it will get worn down by hazards while switching in and will be consistently forced to Synthesis to ensure that it stays healthy. (While it's true that Roserade doesn't enjoy getting Knock Offed, it really never happens as it doesn't switch into or is outright threaten by almost every user. So replace it with a mention of its low Defense and Speed stats are easy to exploit. Also, add how its main switch in opportunity is against Pokemon like Raikou, Xurkitree, and Milotic and how they can just pivot out with Volt Switch / Flip Turn.) It is also pressured by common Flying-types such as Crobat and Noivern that both outspeed and threaten to KO it with Brave Bird and Draco Meteor respectively after a bit of prior chip in Noivern's case.

[SET]
name: Spikes
move 1: Spikes
move 2: Leaf Storm / Giga Drain (Going by RUPL, Leaf Storm is the preferred STAB for most. Change Set Comments to reflect the change.)
move 3: Sludge Bomb
move 4: Synthesis / Sleep Powder
item: Heavy-Duty Boots / Black Sludge
ability: Natural Cure
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Synthesis allows Roserade to check some of the Electric-types in the tier such as Raikou and Xurkitree more reliably, as it does not have to rely entirely on Giga Drain recovery to keep itself healthy throughout the game. On the other hand, Sleep Powder provides a general utility option that is able to net free turns to bring in wallbreakers or setup sweepers and also cripple opposing threats. Heavy-Duty Boots prevents Roserade from being consistently worn down by hazard damage, so that it is not pressured into having to Synthesis repeatedly. However, in teams with sufficient hazard control, Black Sludge can be considered to provide Roserade with an extra bit of sustain, which can help it take attacks more comfortably.

Roserade finds itself unable to hit most Steel-types such as Metagross and Registeel for any meaningful damage except for when using Leaf Storm with Life Orb equipped. (You haven't mentioned LO and pretty sure this is a leftover from the mini.) Therefore, Fighting-type wallbreakers such as Bewear Mienshao and Heracross make for good partners. Not only do they heavily threaten the previously mentioned Steel-types, but they also greatly appreciate Roserade's Spikes support, as well as its ability to handle bulky Water-types such as Milotic and Suicune, which helps to supplement their wallbreaking prowess. Flying-types, such as Crobat and Noivern, heavily threaten Roserade due to their typing as well as their great speed tier. Additionally, they can easily remove the Spikes that Roserade set up with Defog. Therefore, answers to those Pokemon such as Diancie, Registeel, and Stakataka make for great partners. Fire-types such as Darmanitan and Entei are a huge nuisance to Roserade, so bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Gastrodon, and Seismitoad complement it nicely. Gastrodon's and Seismitoad's ability to alleviate pressure from Roserade in checking Electric-types is also greatly beneficial in ensuring Roserade does not get worn too thin throughout the course of the game, especially if the user opts for a Life Orb set or to run Sleep Powder over Synthesis. (Sharpedo, Tyrantrum, and other late-game cleaners also enjoy Spikes support so add those. Knock Off users are a must as otherwise, Roserade's Spikes will be useless.)

- An option that Roserade can run is Leaf Storm over Giga Drain with Life Orb as the item. This allows it to have greater damage output and the chance to OHKO threats such as Volcanion and Necrozma as well as do more damage against Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross, and Steelix. However, this comes at the cost of being more exposed to Electric-types due to Life Orb recoil.
- Shadow Ball hits some of Roserade's conventional checks in Chandelure, Doublade, and Metagross.
- Extrasensory hits opposing Poison-types, such as Crobat, Dragalge, Salazzle, and Toxtricity
- However, this would require Roserade to give up Spikes, which is valuable to weaken the opponent, or Synthesis, which hinders its sustainability in the long run.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Assault Vest Reuniclus**: Assault Vest Reuniclus is able to switch into Roserade's attacks with impunity due to its bulk and its ability Regenerator which enhances its sustainability. However, it is susceptible to being worn down by Roserade's Spikes and has to watch out for Sleep Powder.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Metagross, Registeel, and Stakataka can switch into Roserade's attacks fairly freely, with an added bonus of being immune to Sludge Bomb. However, they are prone to getting worn down by Spikes and have to watch out for Sleep Powder, while also having no form of reliable recovery to offset any damage taken.

**Fast Flying-types**: Fast flying-types such as Crobat and Noivern can be huge nuisances to Roserade as they both outspeed and can threaten with a Brave Bird or Draco Meteor respectively. However, Noivern is unable to switch in directly as Sludge Bomb does a lot of damage and is susceptible to its poison chance.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Chandelure, Darmanitan, and Entei threaten Roserade massively with their Fire STAB moves, and it is unable to kill them in one hit. However, they cannot act as direct switch-ins as Sludge Bomb does a decent load of damage and has the chance to poison and limit their effectiveness in the long run.

Giga Drain provides a much needed avenue of recovery, keeping it healthy over an extended period of time without being pressured to Synthesis consistently. **Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Chandelure and Darmanitan threaten Roserade massively with their Fire-type STAB moves, while it is unable to OHKO them in one hit. However, they cannot act as direct switch-ins, as Sludge Bomb does decent damage and has the chance to poison and can limit their effectiveness in the long run with poison.
