[SET COMMENTS]
Rotom-F is a niche option as a wallbreaker due to its access to Nasty Plot, allowing it to set up on and break through Pokemon like Milotic, Mantine, and Flygon, and a practically unresisted STAB combination, leaving it with very limited short-term defensive checks. It is, however, held back by its poor defensive typing and average speed, forcing it to run Heavy-Duty Boots to remove its crippling weakness to Stealth Rock and allowing common Pokemon like Cobalion, Noivern, and Darmanitan to revenge kill it, and its reliance on Blizzard's poor accuracy. It also prevents the use of Rotom-W, which has a much better defensive typing for serving as a pivot as well as an effective Defogger, and Rotom-C, which offers more defensive utility as a Nasty Plot wallbreaker due to its Water-type resistance and ability to better check Gigalith and Rhyperior. Discharge gives Rotom-F a reliable Electric-type move that punishes hard switches into offensive checks like Cobalion and Darmanitan with a potential paralysis. Thunderbolt is an alternative that has a high chance to OHKO Noivern and guarantees a 2HKO on defensive Sylveon at +2, factoring in Stealth Rock and Protect, making Rotom-F less reliant on Blizzard. Volt Switch allows Rotom-F to keep up momentum and pivot out against Gigalith and Umbreon. Rotom-F can, however, run Substitute with a Salac Berry instead of Volt Switch on hyper offense teams, allowing it to outspeed typical checks like Cobalion and Noivern.
Pivots such as Noivern, Choice Scarf Flygon, and Incineroar can form VoltTurn cores with Rotom-F, offering it more setup opportunities against bulky Water-types like Milotic that they struggle with. Noivern and Flygon can help check faster threats like Roserade, Choice Band Haxorus, and Cobalion for Rotom-F, while Incineroar can provide a great check to Escavalier and Chandelure. Rhyperior and Gigalith are excellent teammates, providing Stealth Rock support to wear down Rotom-F's checks and checking revenge killers like Noivern and Darmanitan. Teammates that can break through Gigalith are helpful, as it is one of the few Pokemon capable of walling +2 Rotom-F. Cobalion and Pangoro are good options; Cobalion in particular can also provide Stealth Rock support and run Thunder Wave to cripple one of Rotom-F's main revenge killers in Flamethrower Noivern. Late-game cleaners like Doublade, Dragon Dance Necrozma, and for Substitute + Salac Berry variants, Polteageist, appreciate Rotom-F weakening or removing their checks like Milotic, Escavalier, and Incineroar. Doublade in particular can also help to switch into Cobalion for Rotom-F. Choice Specs Sylveon and Gardevoir can weaken a bunch of Rotom-F's checks, such as Bronzong, Escavalier, Gigalith, and Copperajah, and also switch into Noivern, which can easily revenge kill Rotom-F. Dual screens setters like Xatu and Espeon make great partners for Substitute + Salac variants, offering much more reliable setup opportunities; Xatu in particular can bring Rotom-F in safely via Teleport against Pokemon like Rhyperior that it can safely set up on and beat under Reflect.
