UU Rotom-H

I'd add to the mention of Special Walls that those two in particular can check even Choiced variants well because they're generally Knock Off sponges, but Blissey and Umbreon are much more annoyed by Trick. Also mention Snorlax and the fact that offensive variants dislike burns (unless Facade) and Curse ones dislike Trick.

Assuming you do that, I'd say

Edit: Eh generally max HP is more helpful on mons with low HP, but you can definitely mention a spread that takes more advantage of Pain Split (I wouldn't make it the standard tho). Also what's the 64 EVs for? If you meant Speed then take 20 off and put them in Special Defense. 44 hits 219 which outspeeds SpDef Rose and -1 Tini (it only ties with neutral base 60s but I don't think they're common enough).

Ok hi, with the bulky set I was looking at it and I think something like EVs: 192 HP / 252 Def / 64 Spd would be a better spread since 192 HP hits a lefties number, Max Defense is more significant since Rotom-H's defense is far higher than it's HP and also the reduced HP works better in tandem with Pain Split allowing for greater recovery vs foes with bundles of HP (Blissey immediately comes to mind) but idk other QC can weigh in, that's just what I found. Other than that and what Ernesto just mentioned above it's looking fine so ye, get this written up :]

Edit: That was the problem I found with the set, i'm pretty sure it outspeeds standard spdef rose/sub seed rose but it might have a little bit extra, also outspeeds like adamant base 60s iirc if those even exist but ye, ernie's call on whether it gets mentioned or not, that was just me trying to nitpick since otherwise the analysis looks good

Thanks, I will implement all of this, and get this written during this week

 • Okay first off Manectric is mentioned in your Overview, which needs to be removed, as Manectric is no longer in the tier.
 • Secondly, throughout your analysis, you constantly state that Rotom-H is a good counter to Nidoking. However:
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoking Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rotom-H: 136-161 (44.7 - 52.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Not to mention the set is physically defensive, so that definitely needs to be removed, although you can mention that it's a decent check, I guess. It's mentioned a few times in your analysis, so make sure you go through the whole thing.
 • You need to add Blissey to the list of special defensive behemoths, as that is a new addition to the tier, and needs to be properly updated. And of course mention that it doesn't like Trick.
 • Add SpDef Hippowdon to the list of counters, as it takes anything but Modest Specs Overheats like a champ
252 SpA Choice Specs Rotom-H Overheat vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Hippowdon: 243-286 (57.8 - 68%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
 • In addition, where those Ground-types are, add that none of them like eating a WoW, which Rotom-H often uses to lure a lot of them in with.
 • I'd also suggest adding Empoleon to the list of Team options of good defoggers, as st123 is prominent for having used that to good success.
 • And finally, add Mega Ampharos to the list of counters, as it Rests away any status, and is slower than Rotom-H so it actually gets switch advantage.
 • Post on my wall afterwards and I'll give you the third check.

Overview
########

This unique little Fire-type has more going for it in the UU metagame than its exceptional design: Rotom-H has a unique typing which gives it great STAB coverage and a whopping 8 resistances and one immunity, along with only two weaknesses. This typing allows it to easily check some of the most prominent threats in the metagame (list some). However, it's typing is not the only thing that Rotom-H has to boast going for it; it also has great stats across the board, with a strong Special Attack stat of 105 along with a large amount of bulk with 50 / 107 / 107 defensive stats (idk? base 50 HP isn't very good). Furthermore, Rotom-H is also somewhat versatile and also has a good support movepool with containing moves such as Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave, Trick, and Pain Split.
However, not all is good for our floating oven; although its typing is exceptional, it comes at the cost of having a nasty Stealth Rock weakness. Rotom-H also relies on Overheat as for its main damage output, forcing it to switch more often, and further emphasising exacerbating its Stealth Rock weakness. Additionally, Rotom-H has a subpar Speed stat, and lacks reliable recovery other than outside of Pain Split, which is generally inconsistent. However, Rotom-H still boasts more positive aspects than negative, and still functions very well in the UU metagame.
Defensive
########
name: Defensive
move 1: Overheat
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: Will-O-Wisp / Thunder Wave
move 4: Pain Split
ability: Levitate
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
nature: Bold

Moves
========
This set
utilizes Rotom-H's defensive typing, bulk, and it's ability to spread status. Overheat is Rotom-H's main STAB move, and is good for softening up an opposing Pokemon; however, it has the downside of lowering Special Attack, and therefore cannot be spammed. Volt Switch is a very important move in Rotom-H's arsenal: it allows it Rotom-H to pivot to its teammates, along with having and it has great type synergy coverage with Overheat. Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple physical attackers, but Thunder Wave can also be used to cripple setup sweepers such as Volcarona. Pain Split gives Rotom-H recovery while also damaging the opponent,(AC) and is especially helpful early-game if Rotom-H is at low health.
Set Details
========
This set
maximizes physical Defense to allow Rotom-H to check physical attackers such as Darmanitan and Victini, while still being able to switch into Florges. 248 HP EVs make let Rotom-H take minimum damage from Stealth Rock, while 44 Speed EVs are used to allow it to outspeed Victini after the Speed drop from V-create. However, giving it Rotom-H 136 Speed EVs allows Rotom-H it to outspeed Adamant Honchkrow,(RC) and burn it before it can attack. A specially defensive set can also be used if it is more favourable to your team, and also allows it to check Nidoking.
Usage Tips
========
Thanks to Rotom-H's bulk and excellent defensive typing, this set can threaten many
Pokemon to switch and force them out. Because of this, getting up Stealth Rocks early-game can be beneficial. Pain Split should generally should not be spammed in a situation when the opposing Pokemon on is faster than you Rotom-H, because you it will lose in the end. Status can be spread freely even if the opponent has as Synchronize user, since Rotom-H is immune to both WoW Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave. Rotom-H is a good switch-in to Florges, as it can take its a Moonblast and pivot to something else which can deal with it.
Team Options
========
It is almost mandatory to have some kind of
entry hazard removal if in your team if it includes Rotom-H. Flygon, Empoleon, and Mega Blastoise are good options, with the former resisting Rock and having U-turn, and the latter two resisting Water. Rotom-H's ability to force switches often makes a Stealth Rock very beneficial. Nidoqueen and Jirachi are good options to use, as they both have great synergy with Rotom-H (how?). Setup sweepers such as Toxicroak enjoy it's its pivoting ability and it's its ability to cripple potential revenge killers. Pokemon with U-turn can be benificial beneficial by forming a VoltTurn core with Rotom-H. Celebi is a good option, as it can deal with Rhyperior, Swampert, Gastrodon,(AC) and Lanturn while also having access to U-Turn.
Choice Scarf
########
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Overheat
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Ice
move 4: Trick / Thunderbolt
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid / Modest

Moves
========

Rotom-H's great STAB Super Effective coverage and decent Speed makes it the perfect candidate for a Choice Scarfed revenge killer. Overheat,(RC) with its high base power,(RC) is used as it's its main revenge killing tool due to its high Base Power. Volt Switch grabs gains offensive momentum from the opponent but and can also be used for revenge killing in combination with Overheat. Hidden Power Grass nails Swampert, Gastrodon,(AC) and Rhyperior, who would otherwise wall it Rotom-H completely. However, you can also instead use Hidden Power Ice can be used instead to hit Flygon, Hydreigon, and Mega Ampharos. Trick allows Rotom-H to cripple walls such as Blissey and slower attackers such as Snorlax. You can also use Thunderbolt can be used in this slot to revenge kill more effectively without switching out, and gives you slightly more power than Volt-Switch.
Set Details
========

Using maximum Speed EVs with a Modest Nature allows it to outspeed Jolly Mega Aerodactyl and everything below. A Timid nature can also be used to outspeed Scarf Heracross, Chandelure, and Gardevoir.

Usage Tips
========

This set functions as a great lead with its great Speed in combination with Volt Switch, allowing it to quickly grab momentum early-game. Rotom-H should be wary of being locked into Overheat, as Pokemon such as Kyurem and Houndoom can take advantage of it. Rotom-H also shouldn't Trick away its Choice Scarf early-game, as it severely hinders Rotom-H's ability to revenge kill. Furthermore, if it is tricked onto the wrong Pokemon; one that can take advantage of it, it can be detrimental. Rotom-H should find opportunities to switch in agaist most Ground-types, Electric-types, Grass-types, Steel-types, and Flying-types in general, or be switched in through U-turn or Volt Switch.
Team Options
========
Much like the first set,
entry hazard removal is mandatory. Flygon and Crobat are great options, as while in addition to having access to Defog, they also have access to U-turn,(AC) forming a VoltTurn core. Pokemon such as Toxicroak and Aerodactyl that attract burns and paralysis can also give Rotom-H switch in opportunities, such as Toxicroak and Aerodactyl. Finally, Slowbro, Hydreigon, and Jirachi, to name a few, appreciate some of the pokes Pokemon that Rotom-H take out gone,(AC) such as (Ground, Electric, Grass, Steel, and Flying-types) list specific examples here don't just list their types
Choice Specs
########
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Overheat
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Ice
move 4: Trick / Thunderbolt
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Specs
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid / Modest

Moves
========

This set takes a more offensive approach than compared to the last two; focusing on Rotom-H's Special Attack and offensive coverage by using Choice Specs. Overheat is its main tool for denting things opponents, and does an extremely high amount amout of damage when coupled with Choice Specs. Volt Switch allows Rotom-H to pivot, while dealing a great damage in doing so. The next slot is for coverage: Hidden Power Grass for Rhyperior, Swampert,(AC) and Quagsire,(AC) and Hidden Power Ice for Flygon, Hydriegon Hydreigon,(AC) and Mega Ampharos. Will-O-Wisp can also be used in the third slot, allowing you to cripple physical attackers after you Trick away your Choice Specs. Trick also allows it to cripple walls, especially specially orientated ones, such as Florges and Porygon2, along with setup sweepers such as Toxicroak. Thunderbolt can also be used as an Electric-type STAB attack that doesn't force you to Rotom-H to switch out, but it leaves Rotom-H prone vulnerable to special walls.
Set Details
========

Using Choice Specs on Rotom-H allows it to hit like an absolute truck and hits more frail Fire resists Pokemon resistant to Fire hard. Using a Timid nature allows you to outspeed non-Choice Heracross, Nidoking,(AC) and Toxicroak. However, a Modest nature provides more firepower, allowing Rotom-H to get OHKOs and 2HKOs much easier. Also, a more bulky spread with 252 HP (list the whole spread) and a Modest Nature can be used, but it fails to counter Nidoking as easily as with compared to the current EV spread.
Usage Tips
========

Rotom-H should be brought out on a Pokemon it counters, such as Nidoking, or through U-turn and or Volt Switch. Once Rotom-H is in a threatening position, it can grab momentum with Volt Switch and deal a lot of damage in doing so. However, try not to bring Rotom-H into SR at all when Stealth Rock is on the field, since the damage racks up very quickly because Rotom-H will be switching a lot. Be wary of using Volt Switch too often, as the opponent can take advantage of it by switching into a Ground-type, or into a Pokemon that is only would normally be countered by Rotom-H.
Team Options
========

The team options for this set are very similar to the others; make sure to have some form of entry hazard removal, a Stealth Rock setter,(AC) and optionally a U-turner user to form a VoltTurn core. A bulky Grass-type can help this particular set to get rid of Rhyperior and Swampert, allowing you it to repeatedly use your its STAB moves more safely. Celebi fits this role nicely, while also having U-turn to complete the VoltTurn core. Another team option Other teammtes for this set are Pokemon that appreciated Rotom-H's wallbreaking ability, such as Mega Aerodactyl and Darmanitan.
Other Options
########

Rotom-H, being somewhat versitile versatile, has a few more tricks up his its sleeve oven mitts. First off all, one might notice that It has access to dual screens, which can be used as it's its own set in conjunction with Volt Switch to allow setup sweepers to get there their job done easier. Rotom-H can also support his its team with Sunny Day in combination with the a Heat Rock or Trick in conjunction with the a Flame Orb. The former gives powers up Rotom-H's a high-power Overheat, while the latter stops opposing Pokemon from healing burns though Heal Bell or Aromatherapy. For the defensive set, you can use the ChestoRest strategy can be used to give it more reliable recovery, or use the SubSplit strategy to wear down opponents easier. As far as offensive options go, you can utilise the Assault Vest can be utilized to make Rotom-H more bulky without investment, or even use an Expert Belt to bluff a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs.
Checks & Counters
########
**Special Walls**: Special walls such as Florges, Aromatisse, Blissey
,(AC) and specially defensive Hippowdon can switch into most of Rotom-H's attacks and proceed to Toxic-stall it. However, the former three are crippled by Trick while the latter is crippled by Will-O-Wisp. <- full stop

**Fast Offensive Pokemon**: Speedy offensive Pokemon such as Aerodactyl and Starmie can outspeed and OHKO Rotom-H. Although However, it should be noted that these Pokemon can't directly switch into Rotom-H.
**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types such as Hydreigon, Flygon, Mega Ampharos,(AC) and Noivern can switch into most of Rotom-H's attacks bar Hidden Power Ice and threaten it with their respective STAB moves.
**Special Defense Boosters**: Pokemon that commonly run Quiver Dance or Calm Mind can switch in and start accumulating boosts.

**Ground-types That Resist Overheat**: Ground-types that resist Overheat such as Gastrodon, Swampert, Rhyperior, and Quagsire can switch into all of Rotom-H's attacks but except for Hidden Power Grass and proceed to pummel it with super effective STAB moves.
**Lanturn**: Lanturn can freely switch into any of Rotom-H's attacks thanks to its ability and proceed to cripple it with Toxic or strike back with a super effective Scald.

move 4: Pain Split
ability: Levitate
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
nature: Bold
Moves
========
This set utilizes Rotom-H's defensive typing, bulk, and it's ability to spread status. Overheat is Rotom-H's main STAB move, and is good for softening up an opposing Pokemon, however, it has the downside of lowering Special Attack, and thereforeus cannot be spammed. Volt Switch is a very important move in Rotom-H's arsenal:; it allows Rotom-H to pivot to its teammates, and has great coverage with Overheat. Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple physical attackers, but Thunder Wave can also be used to cripple setup sweepers such as Volcarona. Pain Split gives Rotom-H recovery while also damaging the opponent, and is especially helpful early-game if Rotom-H is at low health.
Set Details
========
This set maximizes Defense to allow Rotom-H to check physical attackers such as Darmanitan and Victini, while still being able to switch into Florges. 248 HP EVs let Rotom-H take minimum damage from Stealth Rock, while 44 Speed EVs are used to allow it to outspeed Victini after the Speed drop from V-create. However, giving Rotom-H 136 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Adamant Honchkrow and burn it before it can attack. A specially defensive set can also be used if it is more favorable touseful for your team, andit also allows itRotom-H to check Nidoking.
Usage Tips
========
Thanks to Rotom-H's bulk and excellent defensive typing, this set can threaten many Pokemon and force them out. Because of this, getting up Stealth Rock early-game can be beneficial. Pain Split should generally should not be spammed in a situation when the opposing Pokemon is faster than Rotom-H, because it will lose in the end. Status can be spread freely even if the opponent has as Synchronisze user, asince Rotom-H is immune to both Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave. Rotom-H is a good switch-in to Florges, as it can take a Moonblast and pivot to something else which can deal with it.
Team Options
========
It is almost mandatory to have some kind of entry hazard removal in your team if it includes Rotom-H. Flygon, Empoleon, and Mega Blastoise are good options, with the former resisting Rock and having U-Tturn, and the latter two resisting Water. Rotom-H's ability to force switches often makes Stealth Rock very beneficial. Nidoqueen and Jirachi are good options to use, as they both have great synergy with Rotom-H, the former relying on Rotom-H to take Water- and Grass-type attacks while the latter relying on it to take Ground- and Fire-type attacks, and both taking Rock-Ttype attacks for Rotom-H. Setup sweepers such as Toxicroak enjoy its pivoting ability and its ability to cripple potential revenge killers. Pokemon with U-turn can be beneficial by forming a VoltTurn core with Rotom-H. Celebi is a good option, as it can deal with Rhyperior, Swampert, Gastrodon, and Lanturn.
Choice Scarf

name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Overheat
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Ice
move 4: Trick / Thunderbolt
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid / Modest
Moves
========
Rotom-H's great STAB-Super Effectiveboosted coverage and decent speed makes it the perfect candidate for a Choice Scarfed revenge killer. Overheat, with its high bBase pPower, is used as it's main revenge killing tool. Volt- Switch grabs momentum from the opponent but can also be used for revenge killing in combination with Overheat. Hidden Power Grass nails Swampert, Gastrodon, and Rhyperior, who would otherwise wall it completely. However, you can also instead use Hidden Power Ice instead to hit Flygon, Hydreigon, and Mega Ampharos. Trick allows Rotom-H to cripple walls such as Blissey and slow attackers such as Snorlax. You can also use Thunderbolt in this slot to revenge kill threats without switching out, and it gives you slightly more power than Volt- Switch.
Set Details
========
Using maximum sSpeed EVs with a Modest Nature allows it to outspeed Jolly Mega Aerodactyl and everything below. A Timid nature can also be used to outspeed Scarf Heracross, Chandelure, and Gardevoir.
Usage Tips
========
This set functions as a great lead with its great speed in combination with Volt- Switch, allowing it to quickly grab momentum early -game. Rotom-H should be wary of being locked into Overheat, as pokemon such as Kyurem and Houndoom can take advantage of it. Rotom-H also shouldn't Trick away its Choice Scarf early game, as Iit severely hinders Rotom-H's ability to revenge Futhermore, if it is tricked onto the wrong pa Pokemon; one that can take advantage of it, it can be detrimental. Rotom-H should find opportunities to switch in against most Ground-types, Electric-types, Grass-types, Steel-types, and Flying-types in general, or be switched in through U-Tturn or Volt- Switch.
Team Options
========
Much like the first set, hazard removal is mandatory. Flygon and Crobat are great options, as while having access to Defog, they also have access tond U-Tturn, forming a Volt-Turn core. Pokemon that attract Bburns and Pparaylysis can also give Rotom-H switch in opportunities, such as Toxicroak and Aerodactyl. Finally, Slowbro, Hydreigon, and Jirachi, to name a few, appreciate some of the pPokesmon that Rotom-H take out gone. (Ground, Electric, Grass, Steel, and Flying-types)
Choice Specs

name: Choice Specs
move 1: Overheat
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Ice
move 4: Trick / Thunderbolt
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Specs
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid / Modest
Moves
========
This set takes a more offensive approach than the last two; focusing on Rotom-H's Special Attack and offensive coverage by using Choice Specs. Overheat is its main tool for denting things, and does an extreme amout of damage when coupled with Choice Specs. Volt Switch allows Rotom-H to Ppivot, while dealing a great damage in doing so. The next slot is for coverage: Hidden Power Grass is for Rhyperior, Swampert, and Quagsire, and Hidden Power Ice is for Flygon, Hydrieigon, and Mega Ampharos. Will-O-Wisp can also be used in the third slot, allowing you to cripple physical attackers after you Trick away your Choice Specs. Trick allows it to cripple walls, especially specially orientated ones, such as Florges and Porygon2, along with set-up sweepers such as Toxicroak. Thunderbolt can also be used as an eElectric-type STAB move that doesn't force you to switch out, but it leaves Rotom-H prone to special walls.
Set Details
========
Using Choice Specs on Rotom-H allows it to hit like an absolute truck and hits more frail FirePokemon that resist Fire-type attacks hard. Using a Timid nature allows you to outspeed non-cChoice Scarf Heracross, Nidoking, and Toxicroak. However, a Modest nature provides more fire-power, allowing Rotom-H to get OHKOs and 2HKOs muchore easierly. Also, a more Bbulky Sspread with 252 HP and Modest Nature can be used, but it fails to counter Nidoking as easily as with the current EVs.
Usage Tips
========
Rotom-H should be brought out on a Pokemon it counters, such as Nidoking, or Tthrough U-Tturn and Volt Switch. Once Rotom-H is in a threatening position, it can grab momentum with Volt Switch and deal a lot of damage Iin doing so. However, Ttry not to bring Rotom-H into Stealth Rock at all, asince the damage racks up very quickly because Rotom-H will be switching a lot. Be Wwary of using Volt- Switch to often, as the opponent can take advantage of it by switching into a Ground-type, or into a Pokemon that is only countered by Rotom-H.
Team Options
========
The Tteam Optionmates for this set are very similar to the others; make sure to have some form of hazard removal, a Stealth Rock setter and optionally, a U-Tturn user to form a Volt-Turn core. A Bbulky gGrass -type can help this particular set to get rid of Rhyperior and Swampert, allowing you to repeatedly use your STAB moves more safely. Celebi fits this role nicely, while also having U-Tturn to complete the Volt-Turn core. AnoOther team optionmates for this set are Pokemon that appreciated Rotom-H's wallbreaking ability, such as Mega Aerodactyl and Darmanitan.
Other Options
########
Rotom-H, being somewhat versitile, has a few more tricks up his sleeve oven mitts. First off all, one might notice that it has access to dual screens, which can be used as it's own set in conjunction with Volt Switch to allow set-up sweepers to get there job done easier. Rotom-H can also support his team with Sunny Day in combination with the Heat Rock or Trick in conjunction with the Flame Orb. The former gives Rotom-H a high-power oful Overheat, while the latter stops opposing pokemon from healing burns though Heal Bell or Aromatherapy. For the defensive set, you can use the ChestoRest strategy to give it more reliable recovery, or use the SubSplit strategy to wear down opponents easier. As far as offensive options go, you can utilise thean Assault Vest to make Rotom-H more bulky without investment, or even use an Expert Belt to bluff a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs.
Checks & Counters
########
**Special Walls**: Special walls such as Florges, Aromatisse, Blissey and Sspecially Ddefensive Hippowdon can switch into most of Rotom-H's attacks and proceed to Toxic-stall it. However, the former three are crippled by tTrick, while the latter is crippled by Will-O-Wisp.
**Fast Offensive Pokemon**: Speedy offensive Pokemon such as Aerodactyl and Starmie can outspeed and OHKO Rotom-H. AlthoughHowever, it should be noted that these Pokemon can't directly switch into Rotom-H.
**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types such as Hydreigon, Flygon, Mega Ampharos and Noivern can switch into most of Rotom-H's attacks bar Hidden Power Ice and threaten it with their respective STAB moves.
**Special Defense Boosters**: Pokemon that commonly run Quiver Dance or Calm Mind can switch in and start accumulating boosts.
**Ground-types Tthat Rresist Overheat**: Ground-types that resist Overheat such as Gastrodon, Swampert, Rhyperior, and Quagsire can switch into all of Rotom-H's attacks but Hidden Power Grass and proceed to pummel it with super effective STAB moves.
**Lanturn**: Lanturn can freely switch into any of Rotom-H's attacks thanks to its ability and proceed to cripple it with Toxic or strike back with a super effective Scald.

I know this is done, but there are mentions of gardevoir in the set details of the choice scarf set as a speed benchmark. Gardevoir is no longer UU, and it's mentions should be removed IMO.
