[OVERVIEW]
Rotom-H shines more than ever with the amount of Steel- and Grass-types in the current metagame, such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Zacian-C, all of which it can check. Its amazing defensive typing also lets it take on Calyrex-I, Venusaur, and Charizard with relative ease. In addition, it becomes a threatening Pokemon under Dynamax after a Nasty Plot or two. However, it struggles against Pokemon such as Kyogre and Assault Vest Landorus-T, as well as against damage reductions such as Grimmsnarl's Light Screen and Incineroar's Snarl. Further, it relies on Nasty Plot to boost its comparatively meager Special Attack stat, meaning it often has matchups where it is unable to set up and simply dead weight.
[SET]
Name: Nasty Plot
Move 1: Thunderbolt
Move 2: Overheat
Move 3: Nasty Plot
Move 4: Protect
Item: Safety Goggles / Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
* Overheat allows Rotom-H to hit Steel and Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Kartana. It is also able to change the weather as Max Flare during Dynamax.
* Nasty Plot is used to offset Overheat’s Special Attack drop as well as increase Rotom-H's damage output. Rotom-H is typically able to set up easily thanks to its typing.
* Safety Goggles is used to block sleep moves from Venusaur and Amoonguss, as well as Rage Powder from the latter. Sitrus Berry can be used instead to increase Rotom-H’s longevity.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
Will-O-Wisp can be used instead of Protect to cripple physical attackers such as Groudon, Landorus-T, and Zacian-C. Likewise, Electroweb can be used for speed control as well as providing a decent spread move. However, the lack of Protect hinders Rotom-H's ability to take strong attacks such as Max Rockfall from Groudon or Landorus-T.
