[OVERVIEW]

Rotom-W carves a niche in the metagame thanks to its solid defensive typing and ability, Levitate, allowing Rotom-W to function as a check to threats such as Landorus-T, Mega Metagross, and Victini. Utility moves such as Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave are useful, as they enable Rotom-W to cripple foes to support its teammates. Decent typing and bulk coupled with Volt Switch enable Rotom-W to function as a bulky pivot. While Rotom-W's typing is quite good defensively, its STAB combination leaves it walled by Grass-types such as Tapu Bulu and Amoongus. Rotom-W also has poor HP and Speed stats and is overwhelmed by powerful wallbreakers such as Kyurem-B and Deoxys-A.

Moves
========

Hydro Pump is Rotom-W's primary STAB move and allows it to deal heavy damage to the likes of Landorus-T and Incineroar. Volt Switch lets Rotom-W generate momentum and pivot out of Pokemon that threaten it such as Amoonguss. Thunderbolt allows Rotom-W to more efficiently check Water-types such as Tapu Fini and Volcanion. Will-O-Wisp enables Rotom-W to cripple physical attackers such as Tapu Bulu, Kartana, and Zygarde that can otherwise switch in for free. Alternatively, Thunder Wave can be used to cripple faster Pokemon such as Deoxys-A and Genesect. Protect allows Rotom-W to scout for attacks and stall out field effects. Ally Switch enables Rotom-W to switch positions with its teammates and tank hits for them. Electroweb is an alternative form of speed control that allows Rotom-W to bypass Taunt.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread enables Rotom-W to survive Mega Metagross's Zen Headbutt boosted by Psychic Terrain. It also guarantees that Rotom-W's Wiki Berry will activate when it's hit by Life Orb Tapu Lele's Psychic or Choice Band Tyranitar's Stone Edge. The investment in Special Attack allows Rotom-W to always OHKO offensive Landorus-T. When using Rotom-W on a Tailwind team, you should move 12 Special Defense EVs into Speed in order to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus-T under Tailwind. Alternatively, 48 Speed EVs enable Rotom-W to outspeed all Deoxys-A sets under Tailwind. Wiki Berry restores 50% of Rotom-W's HP when low, giving it substantially more longevity.

Usage Tips
========

Rotom-W should be used to switch into opposing threats such as Water- and Flying-types in order to deal damage or cripple foes with a status condition. Rotom-W should pivot on or switch out of opposing Grass-types such as Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss. Rotom-W can utilize Volt Switch early- to mid-game to generate momentum. Rotom-W should use Ally Switch in order to tank Water-, Ice-, and Flying-type moves for its teammates as well as to avoid Grass-type attacks. Rotom-W should be conserved if it needs to check certain threats on your opponent's team such as Mega Metagross.

Team Options
========

Rotom-W should be primary used on bulky offense builds. Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Zygarde make for solid partners, as Rotom-W can sponge Water- and Ice-type coverage moves such as Volcanion's Steam Eruption and Mega Metagross's Ice Punch for them. Ground-types are also able to fire off Earthquake freely while Rotom-W is on the field. Steel-types such as Mega Metagross and Aegislash pair well with Rotom-W, as they resist Grass- and Dragon-type moves for Rotom-W. In return, Rotom-W is able to resist Fire- and Ground-type attacks that target these Pokemon. Rotom-W appreciates Pokemon who can deal with Grass-types, and Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Incineroar do this well. Frail attackers such as Kartana and Genesect appreciate Rotom-W's ability to tank attacks with Ally Switch and being brought in safely with Volt Switch. Pokemon with poor Defense such as Deoxys-A appreciate Will-O-Wisp support, while Pokemon with low Speed such as Mega Scizor appreciate Rotom-W's Thunder Wave.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Choice Scarf set can be used as an offensive pivot, but Rotom-W's mediocre offensive stats and Speed prevent it from performing this role effectively. Waterium Z can be used to give Rotom-W a strong, perfectly accurate Water-type move and help offset its poor damage output. Toxic allows Rotom-W to cripple Pokemon that would otherwise check it such as Chansey and Gastrodon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Amoonguss are able to easily tank any attack Rotom-W can throw at them. Other Grass-types such as Tapu Bulu and Kartana heavily threaten Rotom-W but cannot safely switch into Will-O-Wisp.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types such as Kyurem-B and Mega Latias resist both of Rotom-W's STAB moves and can fire back at it with their powerful attacks; however, both of these Pokemon dislike being crippled by Thunder Wave. Kyurem-B is able to bypass Rotom-W's Levitate with Teravolt, allowing it to hit it with Earth Power for super effective damage, while Calm Mind Mega Latias is able to use Rotom-W as setup bait.

**Gastrodon**: Gastrodon completely walls Rotom-W due to its typing and ability Storm Drain and is able to cripple it with status.

**Strong Attackers**: Strong attackers such as Deoxys-A and Tapu Koko are able to break through Rotom-W with ease, since Rotom-W's bulk isn't particularly great.

**Toxic**: Pokemon such as Chansey, Aegislash, and Gastrodon are able to tank Rotom-W's attacks and cripple it with Toxic, severely limiting its longevity.

check in the quote. Also more of a grammar note: Mega Evolutions in the analyses should be written about as "Mega *mon*", not as "*mon*-Mega".

  • I think it's important to include Thunderbolt as a slashed move because it means you're a way more efficient check to water types - the increase in damage against targets like Fini is pretty notable
    • 76 SpA Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Tapu Fini: 174-206 (50.5 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • I also think Protect is more important than Ally Switch on Rotom sets and I'd honestly even remove Ally Switch from the set and just include it as a mention in the moves section (or even other options)
  • Electroweb deserves a mention here too, don't think it necessarily needs to be slashed but it's a pretty good speed control option

Don't really agree with Aegislash here, could mention Tapu Lele or Tapu Koko alongside Deoxys though

Toxic also deserves a mention here - for a pokemon like Rotom that relies on its bulk, Toxic is pretty crippling. Toxic users can include Chansey, Aegislash, or Gastrodon

  • [Moves] Just a couple nitpicks: Zygarde should get mentioned when you talk about Wisp, probably over Scizor; for TWave, Genesect would be a better choice than Mega Latias since it's more dependent on being fast to do its job
  • [Set Details] When you talk about the Speed benchmarks, that should be EVs not IVs
  • [Usage Tips] I'm not a huge fan of mentioning Ground-types as things to switch in on - Zygarde walls and KOes non-Wisp sets and Gastrodon can largely ignore any Rotom-W set. Instead, I'd list Water-types with Flying-types.
  • [Team Options] Genesect is probably a better teammate to mention than Tapu Koko when you're talking about frailer mons
  • [Team Options] When you talk about Fire-types beating Grass-types for Rotom-W, I'd phrase it more like "good to beat Grass-types -> fire-types do this well", which leaves the door open for the reader to use other checks to Grass-types
Nice work, QC 2/2

Will-O-Wisp enables Rotom-W to cripple physical attackers such as Tapu Bulu, Kartana, and Zygarde that can otherwise switch in for free. Alternatively, Thunder Wave can be used to cripple faster Pokemon such as Deoxys-A and Genesect. Protect allows Rotom-W to scout for attacks and stall out field effects. Ally Switch enables Rotom-W to switch positions with its teammateand teammates and tank hits for them.(period) Electroweb is an alternative form of speed control that allows Rotom-W to bypass Taunt.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread enables Rotom-W to survive Mega Metagross's Zen Headbutt boosted by Psychic Terrain. It also guarantees that Rotom-W's Wiki Berry will activate when it's hit by Life Orb Tapu Lele's Psychic or by Choice Band Tyranitar's Stone Edge. The investment in Special Attack allows Rotom-W to always OHKO offensive Landorus-T. When using Rotom-W on a Tailwind team, you should move 12 Special Defense EVs into Speed in order to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus (I don't play DOU but just double check if you mean Landorus or Landorus-T) under Tailwind. Alternatively, 48 Speed EVs enable Rotom-W to outspeed all Deoxys-A spreads sets under Tailwind. Wiki Berry restores 50% of Rotom-W's HP when low, giving it substantially more longevity.

Usage Tips
========

========

Rotom-W should be primary used on bulky offense builds. Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Zygarde make for solid partners, as Rotom-W can sponge Water- and Ice-type coverage moves such as (you should add an example of a Water move since you have an example of an Ice move) Mega Metagross's Ice Punch for them. Rotom-W appreciates Pokemon who can deal with Grass-types,(AC) and Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Incineroar do this well.

Other Options
=============

A Choice Scarf set can be used as an offensive pivot, but Rotom-W's mediocre offensive stats and Speed prevent it from performing this role effectively. Waterium Z can be used to give Rotom-W a strong, perfectly accurate Water-type move and to help offset its poor damage output. Toxic allows Rotom-W to cripple Pokemon that would otherwise check it such as Chansey and Gastrodon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Amoonguss are able to easily tank any attack Rotom-W can throw at them. Other Grass-types such as Tapu Bulu and Kartana heavily threaten Rotom-W but can not cannot safely switch into Will-O-Wisp.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types such as Kyurem-B and Mega Latias resist both of Rotom-W's STAB moves and can fire back at it with their powerful attacks; (remove extra space) however, both of these Pokemon dislike being crippled by Thunder Wave.

(there was a bunch of stuff that was still bolded from the last GP check)
