[OVERVIEW]

Rotom is a quite versatile Pokemon thanks to its solid typing both offensively and defensively, great Speed, and decent movepool. These traits allow it to perform well as either a Choice Scarf user or a Defogger. Electric / Ghost is a near unresisted typing, bar some exceptions such as Guzzlord and Heliolisk, all of which can be pivoted out against with Volt Switch. Defensively, Rotom resists or is immune to various common attacks from Pokemon such as Braviary and Passimian, although has to watch out for common coverage moves such as Knock Off. Rotom's Speed allows it to outspeed threatening breakers such as Toxicroak and Magmortar and for its Choice Scarf set to outspeed other common Choice Scarf users like Passimian and Mesprit. There are other Electric- and Ghost-types that give it competition as a Choice Scarf user, such as Togedemaru with its higher Speed and valuable Steel typing, and Haunter with its higher Speed and Special Attack alongside support moves such as Destiny Bond. However, Rotom's unique type combination and access to both Volt Switch and Trick make it a great option over the other two.

move 4: Trick

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Scarf allows Rotom to utilize its solid Speed to outspeed various other Choice Scarf users, such as Passimian and Braviary, as well as gain momentum with Volt Switch. While Trick is run to cripple specially defensive Pokemon that may try to switch in on Rotom, such as Guzzlord and Gigalith, it can also be used to potentially put a stop to bulky setup Pokemon such as Scrafty and Aromatisse. Rotom is best used as a revenge killer or brought in by slow pivots such as defensive Mesprit and defensive SIlvally-Fairy, which furthermore form a solid VoltTurn core with it. Wallbreakers such as Alolan Exeggutor and Magmortar benefit from being brought in through Rotom's Volt Switch.

move 4: Will-O-Wisp / Thunderbolt / Pain Split
item: Colbur Berry / Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Rotom can serve as a solid Defog user with its good matchup against various entry hazard setters such as Mesprit and Palossand. Furthermore, it is able to cripple various other hazard setters such as Gigalith and Druddigon with Will-O-Wisp. Will-O-Wisp also powers up Hex, which should only be run alongside it. Thunderbolt is an option for the last slot if you want to give Rotom more of an offensive presence, although Pain Split is an option to increase Rotom's longevity that pairs well with its low HP stat. Colbur Berry allows for Rotom to better check Fighting-types and other Knock Off users, such as Passimian and Alolan Sandslash, but Heavy-Duty Boots is a secondary option so it can take no damage from Stealth Rock. While Rotom does have a nice defensive typing, it is recommended to not switch it into attacks too many times, as it is easily worn down with its only okay bulk, especially without Pain Split. Pokemon that are easily worn down by entry hazards, such as Guzzlord and Passimian, appreciate Rotom's hazard removal.

[OVERVIEW]

Rotom is a quiet (quite?) versatile Pokemon thanks too its great movepool, typing both offensively and defensively, and Speed. Its movepool consists of moves such as Volt Switch and Trick which better it as a Choice Scarf user, (i'd just say its movepool allows it to perform x and y role effectively) and more supportive moves such as Defog and Will-O-Wisp which allow it to further help teammates. Electric/Ghost is a near unresisted typing, bar some exceptions such as Guzzlord, Drampa, and Heliolisk, all of which can be pivoted out against with Volt Switch. Defensively, Rotom resists or is immune to various common moves such as Braviary's Brave Bird and Passimian's Close Combat, although has to watch out for common coverage moves such as Passimian's Knock Off. (just say it can switch into x and y threats but has to watch out for random coverage options) Rotom's Speed allows it to creep (outspeed) various Pokemon such as Roserade and Toxicroak and for its Choice Scarf set to outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Passimian and Mesprit. There are other Electric- and Ghost-types that give it competition as a Choice Scarf user such as Heliolisk with its higher Speed and Special Attack and immunity to water, (scarf helio is kinda bad, mention rat instead maybe) and Haunter with its also higher Speed and Special Attack and support movepool such as Destiny Bond. However, Rotom's unique type combination as access to both Volt Switch and Trick makes it a great option over the other two.

Choice Scarf allows Rotom to utilize its solid Speed to outspeed various other Choice Scarf users such as Passimian and Roserade (rose is not a good scarfer, or at least not one i'd mention. also point out how it can revenge kill stuff) while being able to gain momentum with Volt Switch. While Trick is there to cripple specially defensive Pokemon that may try to switch in on Rotom such as Guzzlord and Clefairy, (bad mon, mention gigalith instead) it can also be used to potentially put a stop to bulky setup Pokemon such as Scrafty and Aromatisse. While being able to switch into attacks it is immune to such as Virizion's Close Combat and Piloswine's Earthquake, it has to watch out for even neutral coverage from them so it isn't put in range of priority moves or Stealth Rock. (and it also can't threaten them rlly, sball doesnt 2hko neither. i'd just get rid of this point, u already kinda cover it in the overview anyway) Therefore, Rotom is best used as a revenge killer or brought in through slow pivots such as defensive Mesprit and SIlvally-Fairy, (neither are slow, unless u're talking abt defensive mes) which furthermore are able to form a solid VoltTurn core with it.

mention wallbreakers that appreciate rotom bringing them in via volt switch

Rotom can serve as a solid Defog user with its good matchup against various hazard setters such as Mesprit and Omastar. (make omastar palossand) Furthermore, it is able to cripple various other hazard setters such as Gigalith and Druddigon with Will-O-Wisp while also powering up Hex, which should only be run alongside it. Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt are both options (only tbolt imo) for the last two slots (ig what u mean but try rewording it) which give it a more immediate offensive presence, while Pain Split is an option to increase Rotom's longevity. (mention how it pairs well with rotom's low hp stat) Heavy-Duty Boots is Rotom's primary item choice as it allows it to take nothing from Stealth Rock, Colbur Berry allows for Rotom to better check Fighting-types and other Knock Off users such as Hitmonlee and Alolan Sandslash. While it does have a nice defensive typing, it is recommended to not switch it into attacks too many times as it is easily worn down, especially without Pain Split. (it also doesnt have great bulk so it shouldn't be overestimated) This does however mean it pairs well with Wish passers such as Aromatisse and Vaporeon, with Vaporeon even being able to bring it in with its slow Flip Turn. (idt they pair too well tbh, i'd rather have u mention mons that appreciate rotom defogging)

Rotom is a quite versatile Pokemon thanks too its great movepool it doesnt have a great movepool, all it has is stab/trick/defog/wisp. that's sufficient but definitely not great, typing both offensively and defensively, and Speed. Choice Scarf allows Rotom to utilize its solid Speed to outspeed various other Choice Scarf users such as Passimian and Braviery spelling error while being able to gain momentum with Volt Switch. While Trick is there to cripple specially defensive Pokemon that may try to switch in on Rotom such as Guzzlord and Gigalith, it can also be used to potentially put a stop to bulky setup Pokemon such as Scrafty and Aromatisse. Therefore "therefore" implies this sentence logically follows from the last which it doesnt, Rotom is best used as a revenge killer or brought in via pivot because it's frail not because it can cripple bulky setup sweepers, Rotom is best used as a revenge killer or brought in through slow pivots such as defensive Mesprit and defensive SIlvally-Fairy, which furthermore are able to form a solid VoltTurn core with it. Thunderbolt is an option for the last slot if you want to give Rotom more of an offensive presence while Pain Split is an option to increase Rotom's longevity while pairing well with Rotom's low HP stat reads a bit repetitive with lots of "while"s, just a GP thing. Heavy-Duty Boots is Rotom's primary item choice as it allows it to take nothing from Stealth Rock, Colbur Berry allows for Rotom to better check Fighting-types and other Knock Off users such as Hitmonlee and Alolan Sandslash would rather swap the item order like I said above, also is Hitmonlee really a big knock user worth talking about. While it does have a nice defensive typing, it is recommended to not switch it into attacks too many times as it is easily worn down with its only okay bulk, and especially without Pain Split. Pokemon that are easily worn down by hazards such as Guzzlord and Passimian make for good teammates less "make for good teammates", more "appreciate Rotom's removal".
