Hey there,
Anyway over all of that I decided to write this.
As you already might have figured out, this team is based on Mega Evolution of Gallade. I was always a big fan of this Pokemon since it came out in Platinum. Now, with his Mega Evolution he gained some competetive power so I decided to make team around him.
Teambuilding process
First of all, I added Bisharp to my Gallade... he provides very good typing advantage and priority and above all, he can Trap LatiTwins that resists both Gallades STABs and have speed tie with him.
Then I added Zapdos to cover Gallade's weakness to flying Spam Pokemon like Talonflame or Mega Pinsir. Rotom-W is also considerable Pokemon, however, I prefer Zapdos due to its much more reliable Recovery and ability to stop Bisharp as well (even though you might not guess). Same as Rotom, Zapdos also brings immunity to Ground, which can be really useful against Scarfer Earthquake Spammers like Landorus-T or Garchomp. Zapdos has also better match-up (much better) against Excadrill, which could also be really devastating.
My next choice was Sylveon. Same as Zapdos provides good Physical Defense, Sylveon brings Special Defense to my team. Above all, he is meant to cure my team (un-cripple them) from status. He can provide Wish support as well, but that's not his primary role. He can also damage opponents with powerful Hyper Voice that works very well against Pokemon like Mega Sceptile (not even Substitute may save him).
I continued by adding Tentacruel... I think it is really underrated Pokemon, so I will explain his presence here. He provides Entry Hazards (Toxic Spikes) and Rapid Spin. He can stop Azumarill pretty easily thanks to resisting almost every his attack (I think everything besides Knock Off) and Azumarill could be really threat assuming he could switch in against my Sylveon, then just press Play Rough and gain easy kill.
My last spot in the team took Ferrothorn. To be honest, I'm not really sure about him, but it works fine. I must admit his T-wave support is pretty handy and so is Stealth Rock. His main purpose on the team is to deal with U-turners (punishing them with Iron Barbs) and also punishing Rapid Spinners like Excadrill.
I decided to write RMT about my new OR/AS team. I have to admit I'm kinda new to ORAS, so I know metagame very briefly. And also I am aware of the fact that now OR/AS aren't really explored well, so a lot of things can still change about current meta.

In-depth team
Royal (Gallade) (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt
- Knock Off
So look at my Royal champion... Close Combat is his main STAB, as it gets 180 Base Power after STAB that makes it really worthy combined with Gallade's already huge Attack stat, I prefer that over Drain Punch due to its much higher power. Zen Headbutt is here as a secondary STAB, mainly to hit things that resist Close Combat, Psycho Cut would be also a option, but it is not much stronger than Knock Off then, so I rather risk missing Zen Headbutt (and I am often unlucky). Knock Off is here for Ghosts and also for lower health Pokemon, as it can destroy opponent's item and it should not be overlooked. Swords Dance is there a preffered attack (the second one could be Substitute) to gain more power.
Justified is here against Knock Off, pretty useful ability that gives me +1. However, I must admit that I don't find myself switching Gallade into Knock Offs, as it is very risky and it may cost him a lot of HP.
I run Jolly nature to maximize his potential in Speed, because 110 Base Speed is not that bad (before you start to complain about it's awesomeness, remember, that many new megas gained 120+ Base Speed). 252 Atk and 252 Speed is pretty obvious to make him the hard hitter he is meant to be. 4 Def doesn't change much, but it is better than HP EVs and does have already big Sp.Def.
Bisharp (M) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Pursuit
This little guy is pretty awesome. He has pretty nice defensive stats as well as high Attack stat. After Defog became so popular, his Defiant ability became pretty useful. Knock Off is his main STAB, it can (as well as Gallade's Knock Off) destroy opponent's item and gain power through it which makes it very powerful attack. Sucker Punch is priority attack. To be honest, I don't like that attack very much as it forces 50/50 predictions with opponent, but it has its reason there and I accept it. Iron Head is his secondary stat (you may consider it primary against opponent without item) and it is there mainly against Fairies resisting Knock Offs. Pursuit is obviously for trapping LatiTwins and making Gallade's work much easier. I am little bit dissapointed that I don't have room for Swords Dance, but I think he doesn't need it that much.
Adamant 252 Atk is so he can devastate opponent's team with its awesome maximized Attack stat, 224 Speed to outrun common Heatrans and things like that and rest is wasted in HP.
Black Glasses are there because... You are never swaggy enough. Three out of Four his attacks are Dark and I don't really like Life Orb that much (I find myself a lot around 30% HP and with Life Orb I might kill myself a lot). Iron Head doesn't get the boost though, but I don't think it is that necessary.
Storm (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Defog
- Roost
As was mentioned, Storm's role is to take care of Talonflame and Pinsir. He is pretty much succesful in this job. Discharge is chosen over Thunderbolt's power because of it's higher chance to paralyze opponent, which I find very useful against Pokemon that thinks they can switch into Zapdos without any consequences. Heat Wave is obviously to melt Scizor and Ferrothorn. Defog is to clean entry hazards when Tentacruel is down or doesn't have chance to switch-in. Roost is reliable healing move.
Bold Nature and 252 Defs are maximized for obvious reasons, 248 HP is odd number saving Zapdos from Stealth Rock a little bit and 8 SpA EVs is dumped rest of EVs.
Tentacruel (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 Spe
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Sludge Bomb
My Anti-zumarill carries Toxic Spikes to punish a lot of Pokemon on switch-ins and it is useful many times. Rapid Spin is Entry Hazard cleaner on my side of the field, it is not worthy using against Ferrothorn though, so there can be better Zapdos. Scald is his main STAB, even though Sludge Bomb is more powerful, because Burn is better than regular Poison (due to halving Attack). Sludge Bomb is mainly against Fairies and also punishing anything that switch into Tentacruel (like Rotom-W) with 30% of poisoning target. I also considered having Haze, but I don't have much room for that. I regret he cannot learn Clear Smog.
32 Speed is there for outrun some Tyranitars and Bisharp. 252 EVs are spent into Defense to at least a little bit balance Tentacruel's already high Sp.Def stat with its Def stat. Rest is in HP for his defensive utility.
Silver (Sylveon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Protect
Silver's Hyper Voice is pretty awesome attack that hurts much even Steel types on switch ins and that makes it worthier than Toxic. Heal Bell is here for curing status changes as was mentioned. Wish + Protect can heal him alongside with Leftovers for +-62% HP and that is pretty nice for Wall. Protect can be used as well for 1 turn stall poisoned opponent (12% HP lost for him 6% HP cured for me) as well as scout his actions.
Maximized HP and Sp.Def makes him good Special Defender, 4 EVs wouldn't really change much in Defense, but it can change much against same speed tier uninvested in Speed, so that's why I invested those in Speed.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip
This cute little cuddly thing is here for punishing U-turn strategy as well as setting Entry Hazard - Stealth Rock. This can be pretty useful against some Pokemon and it can really help Gallade with his sweeping. It also forces opponent to either use Rapid Spin and take combined damage of Iron Barbs and Rocky Helmet or use Defog and risk my Bisharp's switch-in. Leech Seed is here only chance of healing and it is also a way how to damage a opponent little bit. Thunder Wave is here to cripple opponent, so Gallade have some chance even against faster opponent's than him as well as providing parahax chance of not attacking. Power Whip is pretty powerful move used mainly against Swampert and Rotom-W.
Again, maximized HP and Def to make him good Physical Defender, 4 EVs in attack doesn't change much, but I don't really see any other useful stat for this extremely slow poor guy. Many Special attacks aimed at him are usually Fire and that forces him to swich (into Tentacruel or Sylveon) either way.
Importable team
Please Rate My Team. I hope you liked it. You can comment about changes in the team, I am considering changing either Tentacruel or Ferrothorn for something different but I have no idea for what.
Thanks for reading.
