I suggested this a long time ago, but it was met with indifference and even a slight bit of resistance, so I'm hoping people might have changed their minds slightly in the years since then.
Sure, RSS isn't the news distribution champion that it once was, especially since Google Reader died, but it's still a perfectly viable method to aggregate news that caters to your personal taste. Many users prefer to get news via social networks or email newsletters, but some users still prefer to use RSS.
I think I was met with resistance before because of it being a technical challenge to implement - if this is still the case, why? It should be trivial to write a new URL endpoint or PHP script that just pulls the news posts and formats them slightly differently. As far as stress/load/bandwidth concerns, I can't imagine it even making a slight bump when compared to the rest of Smogon's traffic.
