RU Awards and Projects

Hey RU and (hopefully) non-RU players! Here's a little something that will give you guys an incentive to post: Awards. Awards are designed to promote activity and competitiveness in the RU forum. Anyone can easily earn Awards by simply posting and showing activity and skill within various places around Smogon including the RU forum, #rarelyused, and the Pokemon Showdown RarelyUsed ladder. How to earn points in specific threads can be found at the bottom of the threads in bold gold. The people who won awards will have the awards that they earned in each round recorded in the post below. Each time you earn an award, you will not only get in the Hall of Fame, but you will also earn a set number of points. These points will add up, and the person with the most points at the end of the round will win a spot on the rotating council. These two points, contributing to RarelyUsed and earning spots on the council, will lead to greater things including badges!

Awards:
Most Creative Poster - 5 points
Best Forum Poster - 5 points
Best Thread Maker - 5 points
Best Teambuilder (posting in: CCAT, RU Teambuilding, Research Group, etc.) - 5 points
Best IRC Discusser (#rarelyused) - 5 points

Individual Thread Awards:
Winning a Mini-Tournament - 5 points
Being a runner-up in a Mini-Tournament - 3 points
Teambuilding Awards:

• Having your CCAT nomination be chosen - 2 points
• Getting a 3:1 Win/Loss ratio with the current CCAT team on the PS RU ladder (minimum of 20 battles on a fresh alt) - 5 points
• Having your set added to "What to use" in the RU Teambuilding thread - 1 point
• Having your set added to the Project RU Database - 1 point
• Most creative set (Individual Pokemon threads- ex. Gothitelle Discussion) - 3 points

Alternate Points:
The makers of each project have the option to award points for doing specific things in their specific project. How to earn these will go here.

RU Forum Ladder

• Getting to Rank 2 once - 1 point
• Getting to Rank 3 once - 2 points
• Getting to Rank 4 once - 4 points
• Getting to Rank 5 once - 7 points
• Rank 5 users who stay in that rank for two months with at least 12 battles in Rank 5 during that two month period will earn 7 more points.

Pokemon of the Week

• Each week, the "Best Discusser" and "Most Creative Poster" in this thread will receive 1 point.

Research Week #12

• Posting a viable set that completes one of the challenges above - 1 point
• Getting in the top 5 on the PS RU ladder with one of the above Pokemon - 2 points
• Getting in the top 5 on the PS RU ladder with one of the above Pokemon that meets one of the challenges - 3 points

Core Crisis

• Posting 1 Pokemon that counters the above core - 2 points (per round)
• Posting 2 Pokemon that counter the above core - 1 point (per round)

The Rarely-Rarely Used Contest

• Diamond Class - 7 points
• Gold Class - 5 points
• Silver Class - 3 points
• Bronze Class - 1 point

It Will Rain - RU Collab Challenge!

• Each contribution to the Guide of RU Rain Offense - 1 point
• Best Discussion Sparker (weekly) - 1 point
• Top 5 in the Ladder Challenge - 3 points

Points for regular awards will be given out at the end of the round and points for individual threads will be given out during the round. You can check out who's in the lead on-site, here. Whoever has the most points at the end of the round will earn a spot on the rotating part of the council. Multiple votes on the council will lead to the Tiering Contributor Badge

. Furthermore, great contributions to the RU forum will lead to earning the Community Contributor Badge

. Coming in first place multiple times (2-3) is an impressive feat, so an even better reward can might given for this (depending on your effort :p)! Points will reset after every new round.

Congratulations to ShakeItUp for being the first winner with a grand total of 25 points! Since he is already on the Senate, no one won a seat on the council. However, those with many points will definitely be considered to be put on the rotating council during the next vote! Because ShakeItUp is already on the Senate, he didn't win anything. Hopefully you guys won't forget about these awards, as they are game-changing, and continue to make good posts! Look at the users who won the awards for examples of quality posts :p

Overall, you guys made really good posts so congrats to everyone who earned points this round! However, I am disappointed in you all for letting ShakeItUp win, especially because he's a Senate member... All kidding aside, there will be many more opportunities to earn points through new projects in the future, so try your hardest to come out on top! I definitely saw an improvement in the forum this round, so please keep up the good posts. Everyone's points will be reset to 0 for the start of the new round. The deadline is TBD. Good luck!

Congratulations to Yonko7 for being the third and final winner of the RU Awards! Since there will be a vote in this upcoming week, Yonko7 has earned the right to vote on the rotating council! As you may have noticed, I said that Yonko7 is the final winner of the RU Awards. This is because we will not be continuing this project in further rounds. It helped get the forum off to a better start, but now it's served its time. Stay tuned for some great threads in the future, and once again, congrats to our winners and Yonko7!
