RU Spotlight Article

With RU having been official for almost two months now, I thought now would be a pretty good time to go ahead and start spotlighting some of the Pokemon within the tier. Some of the Pokemon that can be covered include, but aren't limited to, Druddigon, Moltres, Slowking, Hitmonlee, Delphox, and Doublade. I feel like covering Hitmonlee or Moltres would be a good idea for the first RU Spotlight Article since these two have been around since RBY, thus allowing me to talk in-depth about their history, whereas Delphox and Doublade are two of the most notable newcomers to the tier if we wanted to start with a "new face" so to speak. Other potential spotlight Pokemon would be Zoroark and Yanmega, though the fact they've been receiving attention for a potential suspect test may not make these two the best idea while Banette and Abomasnow are the only two Megas in the tier if we wanted to go that route.

Anyway, hopefully the idea gets approved, and I'd be more than willing to write it should the idea be approved.

zoroark is already pegged for an ru spotlight spot for the next release, if you want to do a different spotlight i would go with lee or moltres

Thanks for your interest in writing for The Smog! We'll work on getting you access to Article Workshop as soon as possible. You can discuss the progress of your article(s) on #thesmog (on synirc) with other writers, however keep in mind this is the only place you can discuss your article(s). If you have any questions, feel free to PM any of The Smog Staff, otherwise enjoy your time writing for the webzine. :)

1) Get your stuff done on time. If there's ever a situation that comes up, talk with The Smog Staff, and we'll make accommodations. The key here is communication; we need to hear from you if something is up that will prevent you from meeting the deadline. Try to get your stuff done in two weeks if possible, in order to give the GP/HTML/art team time to get everything done.

2) Don't leak any of our stuff until the release happens. This includes art and any other information. If you ever want feedback on your work or have questions, you can join us in #thesmog on IRC (if you don't have IRC, you can PM me or another staffer on the forums and I'll give you a link).

If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask The Smog Staff. When you post your thread in the Article Workshop, you need to set labels for it. You'll need to set the issue's number too. For the tags that say WIP, Grammar, etc, those are the stages your article are in. Since you'll ideally be working on the article after posting your thread, mark it as WIP. When you finish, move it to Grammar and get it checked twice by other people. Afterward is the HTML stage and someone will put it into HTML code. Your article will eventually get art done for it and it'll be complete!

Okay, so, there seems to be a bit of a hiccup. Spotlights are a popular brand of articles, particularly at the start of new generations, so we have thus agreed to only have a maximum of two spotlights for any given tier each issue. We currently have three RU spotlights in the works, and even though you seem to have written the article quickly, I'm afraid that the former two articles take precedence, and that you may need to wait until a later issue to have your spotlight posted.

However, there may be another solution. TRC have yet to start working on his spotlight, and ScraftyIsTheBest has yet to finish his, and both of their spotlights are Pokemon that is now being suspect tested in RU, so odds are that they may choose not to complete their articles, leaving you a spot open for an earlier release. I won't make any promises, but I'll shoot them and the RU representants a PM and see if we can work something out.
