Special Attacker Vanilluxe

Vanilluxe @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Freeze-Dry
- Aurora Veil
- Flash Cannon

Vanilluxe is a Rillaboom check since it is capable of making it ohko when it does revenge kill with it and is able to withstand 1 hit of Wood hammer, it is even capable of entering full life having hazards set thanks to Heavy dutty boots.

252 SpA Vanilluxe Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rillaboom: 428-506 (125.5 - 148.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Vanilluxe Freeze-Dry vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rillaboom: 272-324 (79.7 - 95%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after hail damage is OHKO after recoil + hail damage

Reserving drampa

Nominating Drampa as a counter.

:drampa:
Drampa @ Leftovers / Draco Plate
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 140 HP / 252 SpA / 116 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Glare / Hyper Voice

Drampa is immune to Rillaboom's STAB attack thanks to Sap Sipper, and it takes no more than 43% from any of its coverage moves. This means it can live 2 attacks and OHKO back with Fire Blast (if you are running Draco Plate, it can always OHKO with Draco Meteor; if you are running Leftovers, it is a roll).

Roost lets Drampa stay healthy so that Rillaboom can't chip it and then 2HKO later in the match. The other moves on the set give Drampa coverage and utility. Draco Meteor hits everything except Steel and Fairy types for insane damage, and Fire Blast KOs Steel-types. Drampa can then run Glare to paralyze switch-ins like Silvally-Fairy and avoid being set-up bait at -2 or Hyper Voice to damage Fairy-types more easily.

252 Atk Rillaboom Earthquake vs. 140 HP / 0 Def Drampa: 122-144 (36.7 - 43.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Rillaboom Wood Hammer vs. Sap Sipper Drampa: 0-0 (0 - 0%)

252+ SpA Drampa Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Rillaboom: 362-426 (106.1 - 124.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Drampa Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Rillaboom: 319-376 (93.5 - 110.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Draco Plate Drampa Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Rillaboom: 382-451 (112 - 132.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Because you are never 2HKOd by Rillaboom, can Roost off the damage it does to avoid being 2HKOd in the future, and can always OHKO RIllaboom back, I'm nominating Drampa as a counter. The only possible problem is Fire Blast missing, but :mehowth:

Abomasnow @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earth Power
- Ice Shard

Check. If it wants to manually come in, it would have to be careful doing so on a Wood Hammer or Knock Off. But, best case scenario would be to have it come in safely to avoid said Knock Off and getting rid of the boots. It can then OHKO with Blizzard on the following turn:

252 SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rillaboom: 380-450 (111.4 - 131.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Zard is also a good check and Vikavolt is also a good counter, but since they are SR weak they really don’t like Knock Off :’(

Excellent submissions and voting guys! I learned my lesson this time around and love the participation from all of you. Keep it up, this is shaping up to be a good run!

Honorable mentions:

Virizion (check), if coming in safely, can eat up any of Rilla's moves, especially Knock Off since it'll give Virizion a Justified boost and put Rillaboom in OHKO range. If not, an SD from Viriz will do the trick since it can eat up 2 moves either way. Frosmoth (check) cannot take 2 Wood Hammers due to its low physical bulk, but bring it in safely and it can can OHKO with either STAB Ice Beam or Bug Buzz. Sableye (counter) since Wood Hammer does 64.1% max upon switching in and only 31.9% on the next turn after a Will-O burn and Sableye can recover the lost HP repeatedly and win out.

Bewear - 8
Charizard - 6

Nominating Copperajah as a counter

Copperajah @ Assault Vest
Ability: Heavy Metal
EVs: 252 Atk / 92 SpD / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Heat Crash
- Power Whip
- Stone Edge

not much to be explained here, pretty straightforward, copperajah resists all the attacks that frosmoth can throw at its sizable spdef bulk, and can even survive a +6 hit from full with relative ease. it can then proceed to ohko frosmoth with any move not named power whip in this set.
(note: spread taken from analysis, you could most definitely ev it with more bulk to be able to guarantee 4hko on +2 ice beam at all times)
+2 252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 92 SpD Assault Vest Copperajah: 114-135 (29.6 - 35%) -- 15% chance to 3HKO
+6 252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 92 SpD Assault Vest Copperajah: 228-269 (59.2 - 69.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Copperajah Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Frosmoth: 650-768 (231.3 - 273.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Copperajah Heat Crash (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Frosmoth: 868-1024 (308.8 - 364.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Nominating Ninetales as a check

Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam

Ninetales is a perfect counter to Frosmoth as it can come in on both of it's STABs as well as Hurricane and blow it away with Sun boosted Fire Blast.

252 SpA Ninetales Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ice Scales Frosmoth in Sun: 428-506 (152.3 - 180%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Ninetales Fire Blast vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Ice Scales Frosmoth in Sun: 288-342 (102.4 - 121.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ninetales: 72-84 (25 - 29.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Frosmoth Bug Buzz vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ninetales: 72-84 (25 - 29.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Frosmoth Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ninetales: 117-138 (40.7 - 48%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Silvally-Steel @ Steel Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Defog
- Swords Dance
- Parting Shot

Steelvally is a premier steel type in the meta and is unique as the bulkiest pure steel in the meta and as a COUNTER to Frosmoth. It can deal with Frosmoth all the time, even surviving a +6 hit from Frosmoth on a very favorable roll, and even on rocks.
Note: Bug Buzz and Ice Beam do the exactly the same damage, so I only used Ice Beam for the calcs
Offensive Calcs
252 Atk Silvally-Steel Multi-Attack vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Frosmoth: 476-564 (169.3 - 200.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Frosmoth Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Steel: 61-72 (18.4 - 21.7%) -- possible 5HKO

+6 252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Steel: 297-349 (89.7 - 105.4%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

Reserving snorlax

Nominating Snorlax (CurseLax set) as a counter.

2c18da41e325dc3d0bc5a92002ba1622.png
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 188 HP / 152 Def / 168 SpD
Careful Nature
- Body Slam
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk / Darkest Lariat

CurseLax takes very little damage from Frosmoth, even after a few boosts, and can 2HKO with Body Slam.

It has access to reliable recovery through both Leftovers and Rest, meaning that Snorlax cannot be chipped down into range of a Frosmoth KO.

Since it takes 5 turns for Frosmoth to KO a full-health Snorlax, you have a very wide margin of error to deal with Frosmoth. Even if you hit yourself due to Hurricane's Confusion chance or get your SpDef dropped by Bug Buzz, Snorlax still comes out on top in this matchup.

0 Atk Snorlax Body Slam vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Frosmoth: 151-178 (53.7 - 63.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Frosmoth can either get to +1 and 4HKO or get to +2 and 3HKO.
+1 Frosmoth:
+1 252 SpA Frosmoth Bug Buzz vs. 188 HP / 168+ SpD Snorlax: 154-183 (30.3 - 36%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Frosmoth Hurricane vs. 188 HP / 168+ SpD Snorlax: 126-149 (24.8 - 29.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 188 HP / 168+ SpD Thick Fat Snorlax: 78-93 (15.3 - 18.3%) -- possible 8HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 Frosmoth:
+2 252 SpA Frosmoth Bug Buzz vs. 188 HP / 168+ SpD Snorlax: 207-244 (40.7 - 48%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 SpA Frosmoth Hurricane vs. 188 HP / 168+ SpD Snorlax: 169-199 (33.2 - 39.1%) -- 13.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 188 HP / 168+ SpD Thick Fat Snorlax: 103-123 (20.2 - 24.2%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery

Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 224 HP / 16 Atk / 172 SpD / 96 Spe
Careful Nature

Assault Vest Escavalier is able to tank anything that Frosmoth can throw at it even when at +4 with Assault Vest augmenting its already decent SpDef. Assasult Vest Escavalier also does other things such as being 2HKO'd by Specs Indeedee's Mystical Fire and 3HKO'd by Scarf.

+4 252 SpA :Frosmoth: Hurricane vs. 224 HP / 172+ SpD Assault Vest :Escavalier:: 174-205 (51.6 - 60.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Togedemaru @ Choice Scarf

Jolly Nature
- Zing Zap
- Iron Head

- Nuzzle

:togedemaru: checks frosmoth as it can come in on any attack of it since non of the attacks are super effective against togedemaru, frosmoth also needs to be at +2 to outspeed and spread out serious damage to togedemaru because togedemaru is still faster than frosmoth after frosmoth used a quiver dance once.
frosmoth also has to fear not only togedemarus steel-type-stab attack in iron head which is able to OHKO frosmoth, but it also has to be wary about a zing zap, u-turn and a nuzzle which the latter of these attacks is able to para frosmoth therefore making it unable to fullfill its role as a sweeper.
with all these things in mind togedemaru is a great check to frosmoth as it has the tools to deal very well with frosmoth as iron head OHKOes it or leaving it useless for the rest of the game with paras due to nuzzle.

STEELIX

Nominating the defensive behemoth as a Check.

Having the special bulk to easily shrug off Ice Beam, whether boosted or unboosted, and being able to OHKO back in return makes Steelix a premier answer to Frosmoth. In addition, it's one of the best Stealth Rock setters in the tier and splashable on a wide variety of teams, meaning it's absolutely not deadweight outside of countering the Brokemoth. It can switch in on the Quiver Dance, comfortably taking the follow-up Ice Beam and swiftly KOing it back. Calcs for reference.

+1 252 SpA Frosmoth Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Steelix: 223-264 (62.9 - 74.5%)
