So either I'm not looking hard enough, or there isn't a rugby thread here. Anyone else enjoy rugby? Probably helps that my home city has a much better rugby team than its football team, but I enjoy watching rugby at least as much as football usually, if not more. Plus it's something England are normally pretty good at! (Yay, Six Nations victory!) WHat teams do people support?

Oh, and which is better, Union or League?

i'm captain of my school rugby league side. i got county trials but they said i was too small :(

anyway rugby league is a lot better in my opinion, it is faster paced and the emphasis is actually on scoring tries. in rugby union you find that too much time is wasted in scrums, rucks or simply just taking kicks at goal. there is much more exciting play in rugby league too, very rarely will players go for the points at a penalty, they will aim for the try. this makes it much better spectator sport and a better sport to play. too underrated :(

I support Scarlets, despite living about a mile from the Liberty Stadium. Reason being I play for Scarlets under 17s and they sub me off if I mention the "O" word. Especially after the Osprey's crushing dominance a few months ago.

I'd say union is safer, and overall more widely supported. Scrums and place kicking is general crap though. League is rough and extremely demanding. It's also much more exciting, but gets almost no coverage. The most recent Australia/ NZland league game was pure class, not sure if anyone else caught it.

Also, rugby 7s is the roughest and most demanding sport I've ever played. It's relentless running/ tackling, my squad was cheated out of a tournament victory in Lemmington spa a few weeks ago. Although, being the only welsh team I guess it was to be expected.

Also, I laughed so hard when England were denied a grand slam by Ireland. And trust the French to suddenly become awesome after just losing to Italy...

I always supported Canterbury growing up, but like, just because it has become cheesey how often Canterbury win, I find myself supporting Waikato more and more..

I am a bit of an unfair weather fan I guess. Seriously though other teams need to get their acts together.

I dont really like league as much, union has its issues, but league hasnt got the variety that you get in union.

Have a nice day.
