Tournament RUGL II Commencement Thread

To whoever that'd wanna get me:
I will prioritize SV and ADV, I'm not completely up to date on these metas so I'll strongly need support fo cho, but I'm mostly up for this. Still out here if you need OG Astreau gaming ofc.

Basically, I will play whatever you want, will try to provide whatever demon support is needed, will just try to be me.

Hi, I’m going to make a shout out to post of my own to try and catch some of the players that may not have been mentioned yet that I’ve had the pleasure of playing or teaming with in the past.

FP’s shout outs are very comprehensive so I’ll just be mentioning Players he didn’t or people I might have a slightly different impression of.

Very scattered post and I know for sure I forgot some people just forgot to post and want to get this in before the draft

Zause: I am extremely high on him as a player and have had nothing but great experiences teaming with him. Killed it last rugl and I think he will again if given minor support with testing and building

Lialiabeast- I haven’t interacted with them too much, but we played on the same alt PL team where they began supporting the GSCUU Slot by passing teams and eventually had to play there themselves and went 2-0. Their read on Scouts was very strong and let them pull good matchups. They also made it to the finals of ADV Uber’s open and are knowledgeable about this Gen with a bit of support I could see them performing very well in the ADV pool or any others they want to try. If I was a manager. I would ask them what role they’re interested in before drafting.


Wuqing - I’ve been playing uufpl with them, and while they will need build support, they win a lot and are well regarded in uu. Dont let metallica get this guy for under 6k or you’re getting robbed

Exguardian: have played vs them in some adv lower tier individuals, will probably be motivated to learn ru if they don’t already and had a very nice altpl in gsc which in my opinion showcases some solid fundamentals. Even if you have someone else planned to play the adv slot, you really cannot underestimate the amount it helps to have another person in the trenches able to play test games for these lower tier old gens. For adv it’s even more important as there isn’t a 10+ year stockpile of good tournament tested teams. Good option to start or support

Hats: probably somewhat known through Ubers and has played a decent amount of ru individuals, cannot recommend them highly enough after teaming in rugl last year. Worth starting and I assume they will be fairly motivated to prove themself

Hyperbol: similar to hats, teamed up with them in rugl and they play all of RUs oldgens iirc so will be able to help out everywhere with building and tests. Also able to build and play sv and they’ve helped me with some builds in the past.

Gooberclimbton3: very scary ladder player that mostly uses the same couple teams as far as I know but the clicking is very solid and I would love to see them experiment with some different builds. Is very active on the ladder which is worth a lot since a lot of people don’t go through the trouble these days. Ladder proofing your teams is valuable.

Bydy2: good adv player who I’m pretty sure beat me in one of the lower tier tours with some solid play. They were very motivated in zu Olympiad to play and support adv so I would like to see him get a chance here. If you’re putting a tour player in adv then strongly consider drafting bydy as support or just as lineup flexibility.

Colteor: very strong adv player who is solid in OU and has played NU in a few tours. Probably one of the best adv mains in this pool if they can get some help catching up to speed on adv ru. They’re also managing advpl iirc so will come equipped with some teams.

Acid_13: strong NU player and builder who has played some RU on ladder for sure, I’ve definitely gotten my ass beat by them before. Should definitely be starting sv somewhere.

Metreoscar: amazing guy to talk to and very motivated to play SS or SV, have built some teams with him and tested before. Very worthwhile 3k that will give you good activity which is how you stop teams from dying mid tour

Flabeauf telling me why him getting me first will result in a prestigious and motivated team waking me up subsequently so I could figure out that I still got that dawg in me and potentially aspire to finally become the next best SV RU player out there:

Flabeauf when it comes to putting a single dollar on my ass after finding out that this was not a french teamtour and people therefore wanted me for more than 3k to warm the bench for 8 weeks:

Official RUGL Power Rankings (minus the obvious repeat champions Team Liquidation, of course);

1) Evil Genies
This roster is actually quite strong, their SV has a lot of upside with a relatively safe floor and their older gens slots feel pretty self sufficient overall. I would not be surprised if they rack up a lot of wins this season.

2) FeZ Clan
This team is so funny in that feen and blub decided to just get their jerk and then let it ride during the draft, hanging out in the auction call. MC in SV is going to be absolutely unfair and I don't see any real deficiencies, so a playoff berth is expected.

3) Gen.Gars
Probably(?) the best overall SV core with good enough old gens to secure some wins each week. I think they'd be favored in a lot of matchups weekly and have solid tiebreak potential as well with both flexibility and playing power.

4) Empo Storm
If (massive if) this team doesn't implode from within they can do... okay? They lack any star presence outside of gk but that is not the kind of star presence you want generally. Plenty of players that are boom or bust that they're hoping boom.

5) Xatus Vincere
Metallica and Nashrock really drafted team China LOL. They have some great players who have done well lately and I think they can put up a solid season if a few unknown slots do okay.

6) Lanturn Luminosity
My RUPL coman seed and star player vroom can't do it all for this team I don't think... Sneaky decided to run it back with some Stantlers players from last year and I am not sure that will pan out considering the rest of the roster feels deficient to me, with toinha locked out of SV. Rooting for some people here but not expecting the team to go as far without the core of the Stantlers around.

7) MENCE
Yeah, we play MENCE this week and I rated them last, @ me. This team has some potential but I see a lot of slots with people who likely just do not care about this tour and I struggle to see where they're getting teams from beyond the replay scouting tool (Hats can't carry all of their SV all tour I don't think). You can all prove me wrong this week but I just think this roster is kinda weak in RU.

Our ndru tier leader!
Despite a tricky journey and catastrophic MUs, I liked your way of playing and I even started to have hope during your game against CB Crawdaunt.
Although ndru not being a well-known tier (no permanent ladder), I find the format really interesting, and your builds gave me the will to try the tier.
I hope you have many successes (and better MUs lol).

To be honest, at start I thought I'll be putting you in ADV even though you told that you didn't want to, but finally we made the decision to let you in SV, and I have to admit that you did really well.
I really liked your builds and your way of sometimes goint out of the box to go your own way.
Although RU isn't your main, I hope you'll play it again and I wish you a very good continuation.

With RUPL on the side, I expected that you'd neglect a little bit RUGL, and I was surprised by your motivation to play.
For someone who said to be only good in SV, I find that you did really well and I hope that you appreciated these weeks in BW.
It'd be a pleasure to be teammates again.
(Tho that's a pity that you couldn't play ORAS, known to be your favorite tier :)

I take responsibility, I relied too much on your first results and I neglected your prep a bit afterward.
I found your ingame really nice even if I had the impression you had some difficulties on the endgame.

Thanks for always having been there when it was needed, I had the impression that short games was difficult for you to deal with, but I was incredibly surprised by your last game and I shed a tear when I saw you catch up a game which seemed lost.
Having someone often available and ready to play when necessary is something really strong in a team, and I'm sure you'll make your next teams happy.

Squeeby was exemplary and I think I'm to blame for not being available enough.

Bon, tu finis sur un score pas fameux, mais c'est pas vraiment de ton fait, sans le haxx tu t'en serais bien mieux sorti.
Par contre le type feu ne résiste pas aux types eau et sol, je te conseil de revérifier ta table des types avant de hard un entei sur un gyara :henry:.
Si on enlève ça, c'était très cool de t'avoir dans l'équipe, t'as encore une belle marge de progression, mais je sais que tu peux le faire bg.

Salut ma vieille figure de style, malgré une petite période d'absence (prochaine fois que tu fais ça sans prévenir, je te bute mineur ou pas, compris?), c'est toujours sympa de t'avoir dans l'équipe et je t'assure qu'on aurait aimé te faire jouer plus (fallait répondre connard) et même en PO si on avait pu y accéder.

End of the road for us as well, I wish we got into finals considering all the work we've been putting in but such is life sometimes. Least I can say is it was one of the most fun tours I've ever been in. Thanks to the hosts for unwillingly dealing with my weekly dose of toxicity and impatience, it's not like you had other choices anyway :D
I'm ngl I was very hesitant to sign up considering I had no energy, nor confidence, nor was mentally feeling good enough to tap in RUPL prior to this. Eventually signed up cuz I somehow found a reason to play again, but I actually enjoyed a lot getting back to work, one of the rare times where I felt like I was actually doing my job. Wont be too long on the s/os cuz I dont have that much to say but the Lanturn Lampede was one of the experiences I embraced the most: all about fun, great vibes, no toxic tryhard shit... was all I could dream of. For some reason the atmosphere kinda made me interested again in playing/supporting every gen, so I guess the goal has been checked.

Thank you very much for trusting me all long, asking for support and giving it to me as well when I needed it, especially when it came to SV Sneakyplanner Lyra. I believe 12k is the highest amount someone ever put on me in a team tour, ik I didnt win much but I still hope my investment was worth the price.

Also thank you Seed for all the constructive criticism you gave me every game, it really helped me gaining motivation as far as the tournament went which almost never happens ; ur support in old gens was truly appreciated too. I didnt talk a lot in ND channel but I lowkey got interested in learning it while reading the channel Danbear02 Marss Barss Velcroc, not sure that I'll have the motivation to actually play it for real one day but this tier just seems so large and diverse, perhaps I should give it a shot. Also Dead by Daylight அடுத்த முறை அதிகாலை 2 மணிக்கு விளையாடுவதை நிறுத்துங்கள்.

With that being said, obviously it wont be my last RU tour, but as of now I'm realizing that I prolly aint built for that no more and I should just consider getting back at retirement for good. Who knows whats up next, but ig there's a reason as to why I was enjoying rugl as much as I could.

First of all, thank you Sneakyplanner for putting up with me for almost 3 months. It was really fun managing with you and I hope we can do it again! Also you had a really good season and I hope you get to play in RUPL next year cause you absolutely deserve it. We wouldn't have been able to reach this far without you. Thank you once again.

seed You're the absolute goat!! It was incredibly fun teaming up with you. You carried our SV slots and even helped out our old gen slots when I was rather inactive the last 2-3 weeks due to irl reasons. The season didn't start as well for you but you bounced back and you did GREAT. I hope you play in more tours overall and I hope I can team up with you again.

Ac1D You had a phenomenal season, you won and clutched out some very important games for us. I hope this success in RUGL leads you to be more connected with the Rarelyused community and a chance to play in other RU teamtours.

Astrø You were incredible, the tour didn't go the best for you but you were a great help! You were a great chat presence and you basically did the scouts as well. I'm glad you enjoyed these few months playing and I know you said something about retirement or whatever but I also hope to team up with you again

Beleth I'm glad we had someone to play SS RU because I would have gone mad if I had to help more people in this tier. I know your season didn't go as well but you won when we really really needed you to. You also kept Astro entertained apparently.

ComputerWhiz I'm sorry we couldn't really slot you in to play SS RU. You were a great help in the slot tho! I'm glad we got you I hope more people get you cause you are the goat. Also thank you very much for subbing in when we needed you to.

toinha Sneaky apparently bought you to play SV even though I told her you can't but I'm glad we got you nonetheless. Its a shame you couldn't play during semis but oh well. I'm glad you got to play SM after such a long time and I hope you enjoyed the experience.
