Run with Scizors and you'll get hurt!

Okay, so I wanted to base a team on a less used pokemon that I liked. I decided to use my favorite Johto pokemon Scizor. i was kinda surprised when he made it into OU, I guess people are using him more, but whatever.

Team:

Strategy: Well the strategy is basically eliminate specific threats like Gyara, Mence, Cresselia, Skarm and then use Scizor to pass boosts and sweep with Salamence and Infernape. Or something like that.

Zapdos@Leftovers
Calm
252 HP / 220 SpD / 36 Spe
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Roost
- Thunder Wave
Since my team generally focuses on boosting offensively and I don't really have any extremely quick guys TWave helps out lots. Not sure if I should go special or physical defense. I mean physical sounds kinda better but I already have Scizor for that and even Jirachi can take physical attacks with a Bold nature and Def EVs. However I don't have anything with a great SpDef that can take on special sweepers like SpecsMence. Wait can this guy handle SpecsMence, is Jirachi good enough for that? Help would be appreciated, SpDef or Def?

Scizor@Leftovers
Impish
184 HP / 176 Def / 148 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- X-Scissor
- Roost

T-Tar and Weavile counter. X-Scissor and Iron Head hit them both for SE but a possible Swarm boost makes X-Scissor 160 BP while he's probably to slow to make any use of Iron Head's flinch rate. X-Scissor also lets me hit Cresselia harder. I'm not sure if there are any major advantages to using Iron Head.
Well anyways, this guys main job is to SD and pass it to this fool. That and take physical hits.

Salamence@Life Orb
Adamant
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
Main physical attacker. Skarmory has over a 50% chance of getting OHKO with Fire Fang with +3 Atk (Swords Dance + Dragon Dance) Otherwise this guy is a beast. Dragon Dance is mainly for the Speed boost after the Swords Dance pass. Stone Edge isn't really needed with STAB Dragon Claws and Earthquake for Steels.

Infernape@Life Orb
Naive
24 Atk / 252 SpA / 232 Spe
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot
I could always fool someone into thinking hes physical with a passed SD and pwn with a special attack... i think... Well if I know theres a Skarm to worry about, this guy will keep it away.
He can act as a huge threat on his own too. Cresselia stops him, but well theres nothing to do about that.
Salamence could be a problem too if he hasn't been damaged or killed before.

Jirachi@Leftovers
Bold
252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Wish
Ahh, this thing counters Gyara, special sweepers, mixed sweepers and other stuff like too. He works great with Mence and Infernape. Yeah, a general great supporter to my team. Yep.

Starmie@Leftovers
Timid
172 HP / 120 SpA / 216 Spe
- Surf
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
Starmie helps take care of Infernape, Heatran and other Fires. As well as Mence. Though a lack of T-Bolt means I can't kill Gyara and Skarm. Surf at best a 2HKO on Skarm. Having a Rapid Spinner is also nice though, especially when I have 2 Stealth Rock weaks.

I'm not going to do a threat list because i'm lazy but I checked it over and I don't see any major weaknesses here.

Well thats it, thanks for reading, any help will be greatly appreciated, ect.

Ah, yes, I hadn't realized that I already had 3 Fire weaknesses(1 being a 4x weak) Heatran won't be able to really hurt Zapdos with all that SpDef and I can fight back with T-bolt. Mence and Infernape also can switch in fairly easily resisting Fire and they can both outspeed and KO with EQ/CC. But I guess I need to watch for HP Ice and Earth Power.

As for Sceptile, yeah, I probably should replace it. I'll have to think about that one. Starmie perhaps?

If you want to base your team around Scizor, you could also pass agility to Heatran, which would help you own Heatran problem. I've used this myself, and more than once it went:

Scizor used Agility.
Opponent switched in Heatran.
Scizor used Baton Pass.
Heatran was sent out.
Heatran used Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat.
Heatran got a Flash Fire boost.
Heatran sweeps the team until Gyarados/Swampert arrives.

I ran a Life Orb set with Flamethrower, Earth Power, Dragon Pulse and HP Electric (but I'd say HP Grass fits better in your team.)

Replaced Sceptile with Starmie. That makes my Fire and Salamence weaknesses not so bad. That also gives me a Rapid Spinner. I don't think Starmie is a great lead with all those Pursuit leads so I put Zapdos there.

While Agility passing to a Heatran sounds nice, I would have to change my team around quite a bit for that to work. I think I'm fine with what I have now.

Any other opinions would be great also. Thanks.

Or you can just put Dragon Dance onto Salamence, so before you know it, you pass off a SD and get +3/+1 in attack/speed.

Also you could use Thunder over Thunderbolt on Jirachi, this way you can try to add on some more paralyze support, and Jirachi could use the extra power.

Nitpicking but it's better to take the Atk EVs from SpAtk rather than Speed on Infernape, you dont want another Infernape outspeeding you instead of actually tieing it for the 50/50.

Also, slap Fire Fang over Flamethrower on Salamence. If you get off the pass and DD while it switches into you, you have a 5/8 chance of OHKOing it.

Thanks for the advice.

I agree that Salamence somehow needs more Speed. I was thinking Agility > Roost on Scizor. I usually end up being able to safely Swords Dance twice so adding pulling off both SD and Agility could be possible and very beneficial. Loss of Roost hurts though.
However your idea of Dragon Dance on Salamence sounds nice too. I'll test that and see how it works. Fire Fang's +50% chance of OHKOing Skarm is nice. With DD ill have to replace both Flamethrower and something else. I'm guessing since Dragon Claw hits everything hard excluding Steels which Earthquake is for, I won't badly need Stone Edge.

I suppose I could change Infernape's EVs to max Speed if its safer. Not sure on Thunder for Jirachi, again ill test to see if the increased power + paralyze rate is worth the low accuracy.
