Player Name: Thatguyhere_15Hello everyone and welcome to the 6th edition of the RarelyUsed World Cup! This year is a sign of something new for this tournament: we have a new (and amazing) host, but that also comes with a new prize! In fact, the winning team will be rewarded with a Custom Avatar!
The format this year will be the exact same as World Cup of Pokemon, with a first phase of pools, followed by playoffs for the best teams of the first phase (the number of qualified teams will depend of the intial number of teams).
The slots for this year will be the following ones:
Each team will be led by at least a captain, who can be accompanied by a co-captain (not mandatory).
- SV RU
- SV RU
- SV RU
- SS RU
- SM RU
- ORAS RU
- BW RU
- ADV RU
They will have to draft 11-12 players, including 8 playing slots and 3-4 subs.
With now a prize for this tournament, I intend to be more strict about eligibility compared to previous editions. Thus, the rules of eligibility for this tournament will be strongly inspired from the World Cup of Pokemon rules.
Note for US players: depending on your state of residence, you'll be assigned to one of the four US regions, as it's delimited on the following map:
- For this first edition with new rules, you can choose to play for your country of residence, or you can ask for a secondary eligibility, justifiable by IP, following the same rules as WCoP. This choice will be locked, and change it will need justification and will be permanent.
- If the country you chose is able to form a team, you MUST play in it.
- If the country you chose can't form a team, you can play for the continental team (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America or Oceania) corresponding to your country.
Starting this year, the eligibility you choose will be locked, and registered in a document that will be public. For next editions, in case your country can make a team but you are locked in your continental team or a secondary eligibility team, you will have the choice to permanently change for your country team.
Therefore, you shall use the following format to sign up:
Player Name:
Country of Residence:
Continental Eligibility:
Other Eligibility:
Interested in captaincy:
(If you're a US player, you can put the US Region on the Continental line.)
I'm asking all of you to indicate properly all those informations, even though you're sure that your country won't make a team for example.
Depending on the number of signups of each country, I will announce the teams and the chosen captains, and AFTER THE SIGNUPS CLOSING the rosters shall be posted here.
Players signups will close Friday August 9th at 11pm GMT-6.
Rosters submissions will open then, and close Sunday August 11th at 11pm GMT-6.
