[SET COMMENTS]
Mandibuzz serves as a solid wall thanks to its excellent typing, access to valuable utility moves, and impressive bulk, especially when utilizing Sablenite. It is arguably one of the best answers to powerful yet matchup-reliant Ghost-types such as Arceus-Ghost and Manectite Spectrier, which can otherwise easily dismantle unprepared teams. Foul Play allows Mandibuzz to deal respectable damage to physical setup sweepers such as Pinsirite Dragonite as well as Urshifu-R in dicey situations. It can also deal decent damage to foes such as Lunala. U-turn, combined with the Speed reduction from Sablenite and minimum Speed investment, turns Mandibuzz into a highly effective slow pivot, enabling safe switches to powerful teammates like Urshifu-R, Raging Bolt, Spectrier, Zamazenta, and Iron Crown. Alternatively, Defog can be run to give Mandibuzz entry hazard removal utility on bulky teams; however, it is not fond of switching into Stealth Rock due to its Rock weakness. Toxic is a fantastic option for crippling non-Sablenite defensive Pokemon such as Great Tusk, Garganacl, Arceus formes, and Lunala, particularly Calm Mind variants of the latter two. Mandibuzz fits well on a variety of bulky offense, balance, and stall teams as a wall, Ghost-type check, and slow pivot. Pairing it with physically defensive partners like Magearna and Pecharunt forms a sturdy defensive and pivoting core. Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, Mandibuzz appreciates hazard removal support from teammates such as Great Tusk and Regieleki, especially when it isn't running Defog. Mandibuzz also synergizes well with hazard setters like Magearna, Great Tusk, Garganacl, and Hisuian Arcanine, as it can force frequent switches with Toxic. Mandibuzz struggles significantly against Fairy-types like Altarianite Regieleki and Dragonite, Arceus-Fairy, and Substitute Audinite Spectrier; thus, teammates like Pecharunt, Hearthflame Mask Great Tusk, Ho-Oh, and Eternatus are effective at patching this weakness. Likewise, Electric-type checks such as Arceus-Ground, Altarianite Dragonite, and Hippowdon help deal with threats like Zapdos, Kilowattrel, and Raging Bolt.
