Salamence Destruction

What's up Smogon! I'm PMThePokeman from youtube AKA AaronDaBest from the Smogon Serves and this is my first RMT and hope you guys like it. This team was based off of Scarfed-Moxie Salamence and its been pretty successful so far.

Salamence (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

The starpiece of the team. I usually bring this thing in late-game or to revenge kill a fast poke. Since I don't have a rapid spinner and I am using a sand team, I try to be conservative of when I bring it in. But when it's late game and the opponent's steel types are out of the picture, this thing WRECKS.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 16 HP / 252 SAtk / 240 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

So since i got a Salamence, I might as well throw in good ol' Mag. This thing ends the steel types which are the biggest pain to my team (Skarmory, Scizor, Ferrothorn, Forretress) and helps Salamence pull off a sweep. As long as sand is up, magnezone destroys Skarm-Bliss and Tenta-Thorn cores easily, barring the occasional Shed Shell.

Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stealth Rock
- Superpower

So you're probably thinking, "Why the hell are you using Superpower over Fire Blast?!" My only answer to that is simply for the element of surprise. Superpower can do a lot of damage to enemy T-tars, Heatrans, and Terrakions. Also having the extra speed with a careful nature gives me leeway to kill other defensive T-tars as quickly as possible. I run a full specially defensive t-tar just to be able to stay survive more hits from LO Starmie, Politoed, and Nasty Plot Celebi. T-Tar is necessary on my team to sponge special hits and keep away rain and sun.*Is EQ better than superpower?

Landorus (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 8 Def / 248 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]

My team was kinda weak to CB Terrakion and Celebi (especially if it has U-turn) so i decided to get a Landorus. It has the sand support and Mag support (for Skarmory) and its really strong. Since I thought E-Belt Landorus wasn't that common, I gave it a little bulk and just enough speed to outspeed max speed Base-100 pokes (Plus I run 30 IV's in Atk and Def to not lose any speed). *Would max speed be better?

Gastrodon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 4 SAtk / 240 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Scald
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Recover

This thing is a BEAST. Its a great switch in to Politoed and Rotom-W. While I try to avoid getting toxic'd by Politoed and Jellicent, it really hasn't crippled my gastro when it does happen. Earthquake is great for Tyranitar, Blissey, and CM Jirachi, especially when the opponent gets cocky and tries setting up, either with stat-boosts, hazards, or utility stuff. If Landorus is out the picture, gastro is my backup for Volcarona, but that thing could be a problem if its Resto-Chesto.

Skarmory (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Roost

Well since i got a gastrodon, why not throw in Skarmory? This thing can take on the majority of physical threats in OU and is such a beast. Primarily, it's meant to take on Physical Dragons, Breloom, and Blissey, three big annoyances for my team. Spikes are really helpful by waring down my opponents walls and tempting rapid spinners to come in. If Tentacruel or Starmie comes in, I usually switch in T-Tar and try to get off a pursuit on both of them when they switch. (trust me, pursuit does come in handy for tentacruel) And if forretress comes in, i can just bring in mag, but if it eq's, that's a gg (should I try air balloon?).

Problems For My Team

Opponent's Team Structure-If I'm facing a team with Spikes+T-Spikes, and the opponent forces me to switch a lot, my team could be in trouble, because I lack a rapid-spinner.

Terrakion-If it's CB, I have no safe switch in for a CC. Yes, Mence and Landorus resist it, but they can't take it that well. But at the least, Landorus is my check for it.

Infernape- This is probably the biggest threat for my team if it's CB. It can destroy almost my whole team with its powerful Dual-Stab, and Mence definitely can't take the hit well with enemy Stealth Rocks up. The only good check to Jolly CB Infernape is Mence, but like I said, it doesn't like taking the hit+Stealth Rocks.

Bronzong-I'm happy this thing is low in usage, but that thing is so annoying. It's immune to spikes, plus Magnezone can't take it out in one hit and more often than not, Bronzong carries EQ. My best bet to take it out is to try to ware it down possibly with a scald-burn and take it out with either Mence's Fire Blast or Magnezone's Thunderbolt. Other than that, Bronzong is a huge nuisance.

Gastrodon-I love my own gastro, but hate other people's ones. Nothing on my team can OHKO it from full health other than a boosted Outrage. To take this thing out, I try putting up as many spikes as possible and then taking it out either with Landorus and Salamence. If I can't do that, I would probably bank on a gasto on gasto stall war.

Chansey-Thank God I haven't faced one as yet, but this can be a royal pain to my team. Like Gastrodon, nothing on my team can OHKO it, and T-Tar's Superpower doesn't even do 50% to the common max def max hp Chansey. Skarmory is my best counter to Chansey, but if Skarm's out of the picuture, I could be in trouble.

Conclusion-Well thanks for reading my RMT. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated, and if anyone could help me deal with the above problems, that would be awesome!

Pretty good team you have here. I think Sub CM Latias > Gastrodon would benefit your team the most. It covers much of what Gastrodon can but it also helps patch some of your weaknesses.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover

Latias is a great switch-in for Rotom-W and Politoed, much like Gastrodon is. It's also a solid check to Infernape (provided you don't switch in on U-turn) and can revenge kill Terrakion. It can also setup all over Gastrodon since Substitute blocks Toxic and after 1 CM, Ice Beam cannot break its Substitute. Latias has great synergy with a lot of your current team members. Magnezone traps Steels that resist Dragon Pulse while Skarmory is a solid switch-in for the Tyranitar and Scizor that Latias attracts.

Minor changes:
- Stone Edge > Pursuit on Tyranitar to prevent Volcarona from setting up on it.
- Max speed on Landorus, just incase you have to speed tie with opposing ones.
- Timid nature on Magnezone to beat Offensive SD Scizor, which could otherwise OHKO Magnezone with Superpower.
- Stone Edge > Fire Blast or Earthquake on Salamence for Volcarona. Outrage doesn't OHKO bulky variants and could end up burning Salamence. Fire Blast shouldn't be too necessary since you have Magnezone to trap steels.

Okay... First of all, run max speed on Landorus and use the standard HP Ice spread. I definitely say replace Pursuit on TTar because it is weak with no investment. Use a Choice Scarf Landorus, which permits you to take out Volcarona. That is the awesome Salamence set I popularized on my RMT :) Kudos for using it! Now, since you have a Scarf Landy, you can run Naughty with no risk. I second the switch to Latias, I believe it is an excellent fit with your team and tramples a couple of your threats. On TTar, I suggest running Roar over it. Considering the defensive nature of your TTar, Roar is a perfect fit, allowing it to mess with the opponent by racking up entry hazard damage or breaking subs and predicted switches. Hope I helped, GL.

Thanks for the replies guys. I replaced the EV spread for Landorus, gave Salamence Stone Edge, and got a Latias. I kept pursuit on T-Tar just because it's too useful against Latios, Politoed, Starmie, and Tentacruel. I kept Landorus E-Belt because SE on Sal is enough for volcarona. Only annoying thing about Latias is it can't deal with that new mixed jirachi set (Fire Punch/T-Bolt/Iron-Head/Ice-Punch) but it does fit the team better! *Any suggestions to deal with that new jirachi set?

I usually traps Jirachi with my Magnezone and procced to, at least, leave her weak to the next poke. but my Magnezone build is a Choice Specs one, and with some predicts it take down many things like some ground types who loves to switch against it.
just in case you're interested I'll leave it here, even it being quite straight:

Magnezone @ Choice Specs Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 148 HP / 252 SAtk / 108 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

beware with some Scizor builds thought since they outspeed it. But a Thunderbolt from this monster can hit most Jirachi really hard. You can give it a try.
