With the Sword and Shield released and the 2020 format playable on both showdown and in-game we want to dedicate this thread to providing Smogon players with a wide variety of teams to choose from as possible. Instead of compiling only the best possible teams the goal of this thread is to just showcase as many different teams from multiple sources. As time goes on I will be silently adding solid public teams from wherever I can and give them exposure to the readers of this thread who happen to have not seen them already.

Users are also encouraged to share any team that they have found success with or just enjoy playing with whether it be on showdown or on the in-game ladder. Please only post your teams on the thread after following these guidelines.
  • Provide a brief explanation for your team
  • Provide at least one replay of the team
  • Provide an import/Rental Code of the team
Any team that is posted that doesn't follow all of the guidelines will be deleted

Happy posting! :]

A team provided by my friend. A fairly unique team that makes use of the popular Hatterene + Indeedee hard Trick Room combo as well as Belly Drum Snorlax. With the combination of Follow Me and Psychic Terrain, Indeedee is able to keep Hatterene safe from the majority of typical hard answers to Trick Room while Hatterene is able to set up and then fire off powerful attacks in the following turns. The core itself is very vulnerable to Duraladon and powerful spread moves so it should not be used recklessly. Dusclops is another Trick Room user that can work and is especially helpful for Snorlax to try to keep it alive as long as possible with the use of Will-O-Wisp to break down physical attackers and Ally Switch to swap places in front of potential fighting attacks. Shiinotic acts as a budget Amoonguss but makes use of Room Service to be able to take on opposing Trick Room teams by being slower because of Room Service and putting them to sleep with Spore. Finally, Torkoal just acts as a strong attacker by spamming Eruption as much as possible.

Another team from LegacyVGC. This is a more defensive-oriented team designed to slow down the pace of the game by whittling away at the opposing team and trying to win with either Haxorus, Toxapex, or Snorlax. Curse + Recycle Snorlax is there to sit on the field and stack Curse boosts while using Recycle occasionally to recover health from its Berry after it was already used. Toxapex has the same idea as Snorlax but isn't able to boost its attacking power and mainly relies on Stockpile + Baneful Bunker + Recover to outlasts teams. Dusclops and Arcanine support Snorlax and Toxapex by throwing out stat dropping moves to make the whole team more resilient while Clefable can redirect dangerous attacks and heal up its partner with Life Dew. Finally, Haxorus is the most interesting mon here as it acts as a hybrid of support and offensive threat. With Dynamax, it can fire off MaxSteel and MaxQuake to potentially eliminate threats while also providing stat buffs to itself and the partner. Since this Haxorus is a more defensive build that lacks any raw power it carries Guillotine to still be a threat even after being crippled by multiple Intimidates or a burn status.

A team that I made myself when trying to learn the format. If you have been playing VGC 2020 you have probably seen more than your fair share of Tyranitar + Excadrill as it is a very powerful combination. Excadrill is self-explanatory, but Tyranitar's spread is meant to outspeed opposing Timid max speed Dragapult after putting up Tailwind on your side. Shuca berry also lets it tank strong hits from other Excadrill and KO back with Fire Punch. Gyarados + Braviary + Togedemaru is fun as Togedemaru enables Gyarados and Braviary to boost up as they please by redirecting Electric moves with Lightning Rod. Dragapult does not do anything special and only runs Spell Tag to buff up Shadow Ball without any drawbacks while Thunderbolt and Fire Blast are only there to take on Ferrothorn and opposing Gyarados which can be problematic to the team.

A team DeagleBeagle used to win one of the Galar Weeklies on VGCstats. His description explains the team better than I could, but this is a team that makes use of Gigantamax Pikachu's Volt Crash which can paralyze both targets. Combined with the flinch chance from Rock Slide from both Excadrill and Tyranitar and Air Slash from Togekiss makes it fairly difficult for the opponent to be able to get any attacks off. Indeedee carries Psychic Terrain just to be able to remove Misty Terrain that was either set up naturally or by MaxStarfall so that Volt Crash can successfully paralyze its targets. Chandelure also carries Imprison + Trick Room to stop other Trick Room users from setting up their Trick Room as it would be blocked by Imprison.

A team used by EmbC to win another Galar Weekly. A very strong and bulky team with plenty of defensive typing synergy that lets his Pokemon switch in and out fairly often. Togekiss provides plenty of support but carries Yawn as a means to potentially force Pokemon to switch out in fear of being put to sleep. Rhyperior is likely one of the best Trick Room sweepers in the format as it is not only strong but very bulky. Dynamaxing increases its potential as it is now not only doing incredible damage but raising its weaker special defense stat. Jellicent is a neat Trick Room supportive Pokemon that can really harass a team with Scald burns and Strength Sap. Hydreigon may seem to have declined in popularity in favor of Dragapult but its typing, stats, and ability do give it a strong niche which granted it a spot on this team as a strong special attacker. Arcanine is the standard bulky set which can whittle down teams with multiple Intimidates and Snarls which makes the whole team even harder to bring down. Finally, Ferrothorn is just the standard set you would have seen for years now but still does its job well.

A team piloted by the 2015 World Champion, Shoma Honami. It's an interesting Rain, Tailwind, Trick Room hybrid with plenty of versatility and tricks. Ludicolo Pelipper forms the typical offensive Rain lead that is able to pump out fast and strong damage from turn 1. The Togekiss on this team is somewhat similar to the one on Edu's team but carries Helping Hand over Air Slash and thus drops Serene Grace for Super Luck. Dragapult can easily tear apart a team after a Dragon Dance with its great coverage options and can be protected from major damage through Togekiss support or Dynamaxing. Rhyperior Bronzong from the Trick Room core that is brought to take on teams that could be troublesome to the Rain core. Rhyperior's set is interesting as Rock Wrecker gives it the strongest possible Max Rockfall and its good bulk gives it opportunities to Swords Dance. Bronzong is able to do surprising damage with Body Press and can also create mind games with the opponent by threatening Ally Switch to potentially grant free turns for its partner.

A team used by 2017 World Champion, Ryota Otsubo. Sigilyph is a very interesting Tailwind setter that can avoid non-damaging moves such as Taunt and Sleep Powder 50% of the time with Wonder Skin. Gravity raises Hypnosis's accuracy to somewhere between and 90% and 100% and enables Excadrill to hit Flying and Levitating Pokemon with a powerful High Horse Power. Tyranitar is a fairly bulky Dragon Dancer which can be even harder to deal with after Dynamaxing. Milotic is a physically defensive supportive tank that does well vs opposing Sand teams with STAB water coverage and Breaking Swipe to lower both opponent's physical attack damage. Dragapult is just a fast special attacker with great coverage that can hit the entire format for moderate damage. Finally, Dhelmise is a solid hard Trick Room answer not only because of its typing and high defense stat allows it to combat Rhyperior fairly well, but also because of its use of Iron Ball. Not only does Iron Ball greatly lower its speed, but it also powers up Gyro Ball.

A team used by the 2015 World Champion, Arash Ommati. Similar to Deagle's team this one takes advantage of Gigantamax Pikachu's Volt Crash to paralyze both opponents. Flame Orb Guts Conkeldurr can deal absurd damage and appreciates fighting slower opponents with the assist from Pikachu. Gyarados and Excadrill are standard attackers that can break through any team after being given the opportunity. Weakness Policy on Togekiss is especially powerful after it has Dynamaxed. Dynamax Togekiss is incredibly bulky and should the opponent try to break it down with super effective attacks Weakness Policy will be activated. In combination with Max Airstream this allows Togekiss to become a huge menace very quickly. Chandelure carries Imprison + Trick which is a somewhat popular strategy in shutting down hard Trick Room. Opposing Trick Room setters will be unable to use Trick Room after it has been Imprisoned by Chandelure. Chandelure also has the option to Trick Room itself when fighting against much faster teams to regain the speed advantage.

A team used by the 2014 World Champion and also the winner of the Victory Road tour, Sejun Park. A pretty straightforward hyper offensive team that works on supporting the heavy hitters. Dracovolt is strong but very risky to use and its needs to be faster than its target to get the full power of Bolt Beak and also work around the shaky accuracy due to Hustle. Fortunately Dynamax somewhat circumvents this by making all of its attacks fully accurate and its speed can be raised from Max Airstream. Assault Vest on Passimian makes is very bulky that also can't be Intimidated thanks to Defiant. Defiant is also really nice to go against all the Max Moves that lower stats. Togekiss and Whimsicott are both common and solid supportive Pokemon that don't really need more explanation. Darminitan is a fast and hard hitting monster that is tough to take hits from even with the proper countermeasures. Duraladon is a common pick on teams to counteract Togekiss by not only punishing it with strong Steel moves, but also ingnoring Follow Me.

A team created by Mochiha from the Japanese VGC player base. Tyranitar Excadrill are fairly straightforward except Excadrill carries no protect to make the most of Swords Dance and its coverage options. Rotom-M is a strong answer against threatening Water-type Pokemon and could potentially keep its partner safe from strong single target attacks with Ally Switch. Togekiss is fairly different this time around as it carries Protect which may not be seen that often. You lose out on a good supportive move, but because Togekiss is so bulky and problematic it tends to be double targeted a lot so Protect can keep it on the field longer. Gyarados runs a very physically bulky build to shut down opposing Excadrill.

A very interesting team crafted by Snow from the Japanese VGC player base. Dracovish has a number of issues but can rip apart any team if it is able to pull off boosted Fishious Rends. Arcanine is the typical bulky set, but Burn Up is a unique choice which not only gives it a very strong Fire-type move but after being used it loses its Fire-typing and the weaknesses that came with it. Dragapult set may seem strange with the double 2-turn moves but becomes very threatening after Dynamaxing. Corviknight acts as a hard counter to the Tyranitar Excadrill combination by raising its defense with Iron Defense which also gives it incredibly strong Body Presses even with a Calm nature. Aegislash is surprisingly not seen often but still has incredible typing and stats which helps it perform well.

A solid bulky offensive team from fluWhite. Dragapult runs a more bulky Dragon Dance set to survive attacks that would normally knock out a frailer variant while still retaining plenty of power and speed. Choice Band Arcanine is a neat set from older formats that can easily catch someone off guard with its great damage. Offensive Rotom-W is very rare after losing Hidden Power, but Nasty Plot still enables it to be a threat especially with Togekiss support. Curse Snorlax has been a staple since 2017 and carries Darkest Lariat to be able to cut through defensive boosts from its opponent and slowly win games. Facade also gives it away around the omnipresent Will-o-Wisp.

Another team from a Japanese Player from this blog. Excadrill Gyarados and Dragapult are a very established core by now that excel at just punching holes through teams. Assault Vest patches up Duraladon's lower SpDef and carries Dragon Tail to force out Trick Room setters before they can use the move. The spotlight of this team are the Whimsicott and Charizard which are a very strong combination. Choice Specs Charizard with Sunny Day + Helping Hand support is ridiculously strong and is easily able to OHKO even Pokemon resist Fire-type moves. Dynamax forces Charizard to lose its Choice Specs boost but Solar Power essentially gives it back.

So here is a very interesting and fun team from 2013 World's Runner Up Gebebo. Ghost has always been a solid offensive attacking type and this team takes full advantage of that by using 3 of the best Ghost-types in the format. Acrobatics on Bulky Dragapult is a very interesting tech as you get access to Max Airstream while in Dynamax form to buff up your team. Not only that but if your Weakness Policy was consumed while in Dynamax form and Dragapult reverted back to its normal form it would then be able to make use of a full-powered Acrobatics. Jolly Max Speed Aegislash without King's Shield is almost never seen but works well here as it is able to outspeed most variants of Togekiss and appreciates the speed buffs and defense debuffs from Dynamax'd Dragapult. Perhaps the most notable aspect of this team is the Choice Band Snorlax with Self-destruct. Seeing how half of the team are immune to Self-Destruct while the other two carry Protect you're often free to blow up with impunity.

This is a very fun Hard Trick Room team from my good friend, Cypher. If you have been playing VGC long enough then you would have definitely run into a variant of this team on the ladder. Butterfree aids the team with Rage Powder and Sleep Powder, but can also harass the opposing team with G-Max Befuddle if they choose not to respect it. The Dusclops set essentially controls who gets their boosts and when by using Haze, but also by Bulldozing its own partner Rhyperior to activate Weakness Policy. Choice Specs Torkoal is a bit difficult to use, but if you manage to get it in on a safe switch while Trick Room is up with enough turns left it can almost guarantee a win. An easy way to do that is to spam Follow Me on Indeedee until it is knocked out so Torkoal can come in the following turn. Hatterene is standard but has the Giga Drain as a tech option against Gastrodon. Lastly, Indeedee is mostly standard but carries Imprison as sort of a tech for opposing teams that carry Imprison to shut down Trick Room. A lot of players tend to run Imprison + Trick Room on certain Pokemon to stop Hatterene or Dusclops from activating Trick Room, but if Indeedee uses Imprison first then it is able to lock down Imprison and Trick Room from the opponent which allows you to avoid having your Trick Room stopped.

What is featured here is a very hard hitting Sun Trick Room team. Indeedee + Hatterene is a tried and true classic core that got even stronger with the addition of Expanding Force. With Tyranitar being a natural threat to Sun based teams, Torkoal is able to counteract it with a surprise Body Press and Urshifu threatens it with its own presence. Assault Vest Gigantamax Venusaur is very difficult to deal with as it is incredibly resilient, fast, and can boost its own damage output. Porygon-Z is another threat that can OHKO just about anything with a Hyper Beam.

Here we have a fun team from Embc with a personal favorite of mine, Gourgeist. Most of the team doesn't need to be explained, but Gourgeist has a neat place in the format as being a Trick Room user that handles Rillaboom very well. Gourgeist happens to be an incredible partner for Bouffalant as it can nullify its Fighting weakness with Trick or Treat and provide Will-O-Wisp support to improve Bouffalant's overall bulk.

Here we have a solid goodstuff team that features a lot of commonly used Pokemon that can deal with a lot of different styles. Incineroar can help keep momentum in the team's favor with Fake Out and U-turn and makes use of a Lash Out to punish all the stat dropping Dynamax moves as well as other Incineroar. Porygon-Z carries Trick Room which not only helps out the slower Incineroar and Rillaboom, but is also a neat tech option when playing other Hard Trick Room teams. With Amoonguss making its presence in the format, Rotom-H opts for Safety Goggles to be able to get around Spore and Rage Powder.

An interesting half Tailwind half Trick Room with a very offensive oriented Gigantamax Lapras. Talonflame does the same thing it always does, but in this format it has access to priority Max Airstream which can come into clutch for certain matchups. Marowak is a unique pick for a number of reasons as it can fulfill numerous roles on the team. It has two absurdly powerful STAB moves and has several key immunities and resistances which makes it a good Ally Switch user to keep its partner safe for a turn. The fact that it has Rock Head is also interesting as Marowak is infamous for carrying Lightning Rod which would normally redirect Electric moves from Talonflame and Lapras. Assuming that the opponent isn't already aware of the ability, it can potentially allow Lapras and Talonflame to be sit pretty in front of Rotom as the opponent will always have to respect the threat of Lightning Rod.

Another straightforward but powerful Sand team that can do well in a lot of matchups. The team features two powerful set up Dynamax Pokemon in Excadrill and Dragapult which can both easily steal a game away if allowed to. Fake Out + double redirection can grant them many opportunities to get at least one turn to setup and win. Dynamax Togekiss with Scope Lens doubles as a set up Pokemon and can easily steal a game with even one critical hit. Protect Incineroar is interesting as many people expect to be able to freely attack it since it normally carries four attacking moves, which can also enable a free set up turn for the partner.

1598662517262.png
1598662534057.png

A very fun team with plenty of explosive firepower that can overwhelm an opponent quickly. Assault Vest Arcanine acts as a sort of hybrid between the offensive and supportive builds and carries Bulldoze which is important for triggering Duraludon's Weakness Policy. Whimsicott is standard, but very important for enabling the Sylveon and Diggersby to run through unprepared teams. Sing might look weird on Clefairy, but it tends to sit around doing nothing due to the lack of any real damage output. Sing at least gives it a 55% chance to incapacitate a target for a few turns which could easily take a game especially against a Dynamax'd mon.

1598662595000.png
1598662612291.png

Another goodstuff team carrying some commonly seen mons, but has a few tricks that helps differentiate itself. Choice Band Tyranitar is very strong against slower teams and with the stat dropping moves and abilities being so common in VGC a Choice Banded Lash Out is going to blow away just about anything. As stated in the tweet not only is Gigantamax Cinderace a powerhouse, but it gives its partners Attack and Speed boosts which can make a match snowball in the teams favor very quickly. Burning Jealously is a neat tech option against other Dynamax boosting moves, and can shut down opposing Gigantamax Cinderace assuming they changed their types from Fire that turn.

Somewhat of a more defensively oriented team that still has some damage output. The Dragapult plays somewhat of a dynamic supporting role by swapping places with Tyranitar and Porygon2 to keep them away from threats like Urshifu. This Lapras plays a more supportive role by extending its Gigantamax Resonance with Light Clay and also keeping its friends alive with Life Dew. Rillaboom and Incineroar also act as dual defensive pivots to keep the momentum for the team as much as possible. Tyranitar and Porygon2 offer a Trick Room mode which can quickly become a win condition should Tyranitar's weakness policy become active.

The 2nd place team in the recent Player's Cup! Iron Defense + Body Press Ferrothorn is a cool win condition that doesn't just stall out the opponent but can score plenty of knock outs if it manages to get to +6. Dynamax Primarina is an incredibly strong attacker that has a good matchup against plenty of the most commonly seen Pokemon. Water and Fairy type coverage is very good and it can easily blow through top threats such as Incineroar, Tyranitar, Dragapult, Charizard, etc.

1598662612291.png

The 1st place team in the recent Player's Cup! While a lot of the Pokemon here are pretty self explanatory the real eye catchers are the Coalossal and Dragapult combination. This Dragapult is a pure supportive build that exists to enable Coalossal's sweep by either buffing it, debuffing the opponents, or swapping places with it. Gigantamax Coalossal was already a capable win condition that got even better with access to Meteor Beam that grants it an even stronger Max Volcalith.

"amoongus / dusclops is the typical lead if they lack an imprison user, spore, or goggles talonflame, sometimes raichu / dusclops if they do have some of those. If you expect a dracozolt or if setting trick room isn’t feasible, leading raichu azumarill is a nice “fast mode”,usually with escav and dusclops in the back. This team was basically designed to counter all the s6 metas, like pz, lapras, and coalossal. Dusclop’s ev’s let it set up on a helping hand boosted max darkness from timid life orb pz, haze and brick break screws over coal and lapras, escavalier in trick room screws over literally everything on the planet. Escavalier is iv’d to under speed dusclops in trick room, to break screens and haze off intimidates before it attacks. This team doesn’t fare as well in s6, obviously, the meta is completely different, and I’ve run into problems like incineroar intimidate stacking escav to nothing and priority rillaboom ending azumarill mid sweep in trick room. Any adjustments to increase it’s s5 effectiveness is appreciated.
Rotom ev’s live a +1 terrakion rock slide and iirc outspeeds 252 corviknight."

A very solid offensive team which managed to achieve rank #1 on Battle Spot at a certain point. Whimsicott + Regieleki + Lapras is a very solid offensive core where Whimsicott enables Lapras and Regieleki to break through ill-prepared teams. Lapras and Regieleki are also really cool core as Lapras is able to fend off Ground- types that plague Regi's existence while Regieleki can easily outpace many Pokemon who are faster than Lapras outside of Tailwind while also being able to take out opposing bulky waters faster than Lapras could. Dynamax'd Assault Vest Landorus can be an obnoxious threat to take out and it gets faster and more resilient on the special side just from spamming it's STAB Max moves. Not much needs to be said about Choice Band Urshifu as anything that is slower and isn't immune or resistant to its STAB moves will likely be OHKO'd. Amoonguss is a nice glue to the team that aids with the hard trick room matchup and also gives its teammates much needed free turns to do damage.

"So here is my Snorlax team. Yes you read that right, Snorlax. I bet you forgot this thing existed but it is a threat. I went with a standard three attacks belly drum set for my lax holding a Figy Berry. I really like bulky Snorlax rather than just dumping everything in attack as it is KOing most things at plus 6. Now for the support. I first went with Indeedee-F. Follow me is really good for setting up lax. I went with Expanding Force as an attacking move, pretty standard I would say. For the last two I went with Safeguard to prevent Amoonguss spores and Heal Pulse to heal the big boy. Honestly on the ladder I have barely touched the last three moves and Indeedee has just been a follow me bot, but it works so y'know, can't complain. I then went with Dusclops. Trick Room, Night Shade, Pain Split, WoW, really standard set but it works. I Ev'd it to live most Urshifu Wicked Blow, dumped the rest into SpDef. For my last support mon I went with Pheromosa for Speed Swap. Some matchups are just awful for TR so having this second mode is nice. Other moves don't really matter although I do like the lowering attack effect on Lunge. Now for the last two mons I went with Fini first. Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Muddy Water, Scald, Choice Specs max SpAtk max HP. Really standard self explanatory stuff. Now for my last mon I knew I wanted Intimidate. I went with Incin to fill this slot, I just wanna say that this may be my favorite set I've ever created myself. So when I was making this team I looked at the top mons. I realized that mons such as Mgross and Glas only have a ground move to deal with Incin. With this knowledge I added Shuca berry. The defense is to survive the first max ground with Shuca berry with enough health to survive another one with a burn, making it a 3HKO. But wait, where are you getting the burn from? That would be in its moves. I ran Fake Out, Parting Shot, Flare Blitz... and Burning Jealousy. I don't know what you guys think but I thought it was pretty innovative. So that's the team, now the leads. Indeedee+Snorlax is pretty self explanitory. Set up B-Drum and go clicky clicky. Snorlax+Incin is good if there is a good amount of potential spread moves on the opponents side. You can fake out, B-Drum, and go from there. Indeedee+Dusclops if getting up TR is hard in the matchup. Incin+Fini against Dusclops Glas does well. So, that is pretty much it. :

BK

Here we have a solid Sand goodstuff team featuring a lot of Pokemon that are often used together. Tyranitar + Excadrill + Cresselia will always be a great offensive core that has plenty of tools for almost every situation. Cresselia even carries Moonblast as a good tech option for Single Strike Urshifu who can be problematic for all of them. Calm Mind Tapu Fini is a classic win condition Pokemon who has good partners in Scarf Zapdos and Excadrill to eliminate its problems. Iron Defense Ferrothorn is another interesting win condition that plays similarily to Tapu Fini but has different problems that needs to be eliminated. Scarf Zapdos is an fun set that can certainly get some surprise kills off specific threats that can clear the way for a Tapu Fini or Ferrothorn clean up.

Prinz

Prinz brings another fun offensive team with plenty of unique Pokemon. Whimsicott and Regieleki can destroy pretty much any other lead matchup with a Fake Tears + Choice Specs attack. Mamoswine is a cool Pokemon with incredible coverage that can do some good damage under Tailwind now that it's immune to Intimidate due to Oblivious. Moltres is another cool Pokemon that got a cool buff in Scorching Sands that lets it now take on Heatran and other counters. Duraludon isn't a mon that has been seen in a while, but it's still a strong Dynamax option with great coverage and damage output.

How do you choose your lead matchups?
It really just depends on what moves provide more coverage. Need Fire, Rock, and Grass (or see Tailwind + Water Urshifu)? Go with Sneasel and Coalossal. Need Steel, Fighting, Rock, and Flying (or see Tailwind + Dark Urshifu)? Go Sneasel and Cobalion. See G-Weezing? Go Gastrodon and Cobalion. See Trick Room? Sneasel has Taunt with Inner Focus and a Focus Sash and Should be able to handle it before it becomes a problem (although this team really struggles to take out Dusclops with a lack of decent Dark/Ghost/Knock Off Coverage).

Putting out my incredibly pog s6 escavalier trick room team: absolutely murders in s6, could possibly murder in s5 if you give it some adjustments: rillaboom with taunt kinda shuts the operation down, since moonguss can’t redirect it. Togekiss over amoonguss or a fast taunt user could remedy that. Peaked within 50 points of top 500 new ladder, which is saying a lot since i suck big time

New teams added! Thank you kindly for the contributions. Forgive me for being so lazy with the descriptions but you both did a better job than I could with your teams

Improved version of my previously submitted team: sorted out some inefficiencies with rotom not doing it's job well enough and problems with safety goggles taunt.

Rotom's job was to remove ferrothorn, amoonguss, and sun teams, hence the safety goggles. Originally it was arcanine, but arc got rolled by venusaur's earth power. The problem is overheat isn't very reliable, and rotom has trouble staying alive enough to deal with a late-game ferrothorn. Goodra executes these tasks much better than rotom, without requiring safety goggles due to sap sipper, and has the bonus of much higher bulk, as well as the surprise factor of fire blast being a possibly unexpected coverage move.

Amoonguss was solid, but as support to set up trick room it felt somewhat lacking, as safety goggles simply invalidates its existence. Once trick room was up it had a tendency to become dead weight without a damage-dealer beside it. Clefable fixes these problems by not requiring powder moves, and has access to teleport to allow for a free switch into escavalier once trick room is up, in addition to being another safety net for urshifu and ferrothorn.

on an unrelated note 4/6ths of this team look nice and smily now

So I have been experimenting with a core and it has worked very well. I call it CAM, or Corviknight Amoonguss Milotic. I've made several teams using this said core and it's worked extremely well. This is a series 6 core by the way, it probably wouldn't work as well with sun going around in series 5.
Here is my first CAM team https://pokepast.es/dc8c42ac693044d6 (Sorry about the paste it's a little messed up)
So of course you have the core, which I guess I never explained so let me go ahead and do that. https://pokepast.es/91c80b10aa4a0448 The main core is the exact same so no need to explain. Dracozolt is really good against what Corviknight isn't. It also serves as a scare in team preview when you're not bringing it. TFlame is here for speed control and taunt, pretty standard except will-o-wisp which isn't used as much. Sylveon is here because every team needs a good fairy type, it also provides extra damage output with HH and can be deadly with an airstream boost, spamming hyper voice. That's the team basically, I think they are both amazing and have performed very well. The first one I showed went 7-1 when I first used it on showdown. You guys are welcome to use it.

This is a pretty typical Balance TR type team for me. I have always loved the core of Fini-Kartana-Fire. Generally speaking, this core has a lot of merit both offensively and defensively (for example, Metagross doesn't exactly have the easiest time of breaking it). Incineroar is EV'd such that it takes a Magnet-boosted Rising Voltage from Regieleki in Terrain. Fini can also take a Magnet Thunderbolt from Regieleki at +1. Dusclops is very standard, biased more for Special bulk as the team features Intimidate. Brick Break both procs Glastrier's Weakness Policy, and breaks any screens that come out from Gmax Lapras or Regieleki. Glastrier's natural bulk allows it to come on non-TR modes, often being Dynamaxed with Chilling Neigh being equally as game changing as Beast Boost.
