Edit: I expanded on my descriptions, fixed Ferorthorn, and fixed Garchomp, and gave him a Lum Berry.
This is my sandstorm team. I'm new in Smogon, and any help with my team would be greatly appreciated.
Swampert @Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Damp
EV's: 244 Defense, 248 Speed, 16 Attack
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Roar
-Ice Beam
Swampert is my lead. He is able to set up stealth rocks reliably. Roar removes enemy Pokemon away, preventing others from setting up, and allowing me to scout my opponents team, as well as getting stealth rock damage. I have Earthquake and Ice Beam for coverage, and Ice Beam allows me to KO opposing Dragon types as well. The damp ability prevents the enemy from exploding via suicide leads such as Azelf.
Weak against grass type attacks, and I can't do anything against steel type pokemon. Roar can remove any threats, Ice Beam can deal with grass switch ins. I could switch into scizor for grass types, or possibly Ferrothorn. Garchomp can deal with steel types with earthquake, and Tyranitar can KO any Ferrothorn with flamethrower.
Tyranitar @ Lum Berry
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Sand Stream
EV's: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP
-Stone Edge
-Dragon Dance
-Fire Punch
-Crunch
Tyranitar sets up sandstorm. Stone Edge, Fire Punch, and Crunch all provide reliable coverage. Dragon Dance increases Tyranitar's attack and speed even further. The Lum Berry prevents status.
Weak against fighting, water, grass, ground, steel, and bug. Flamethrower can deal with grass, bug or steel switch ins, fighting can't do much to Garchomp, and Swampert can survive hits from many of those types, and then proceed to roar the enemy away.
Ferrothorn @ Shed Shell
Nature: Impish
Ability: Iron Barbs
EV's: 252 Defense, 164 Attack, 92 Special Defense
-Leech Seed/Explosion
-Substitute
-Gyro Ball
-Power Whip/Curse
Ferrothorn is my defensive wall. Leech seed and Iron Barbs wear down the opponent, while Gyro Ball and Power Whip are offensive. I was also thinking about using an offensive Ferrothorn, with Curse to lower my speed, increase my defense, and increase Gyro Ball's power. This could potentially surprise any taunt users who would predict me to set up. Power whip gives me another STAB, and explosion allows me to go out with a bang. The shed shell is to deal with any magnezones.
Ferrothorn is weak against fire pokemon, who are easily countered with Garchomp and Tyranitar. Shed shell deals with magnezone.
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Ability: Magnet Pull
EV's: 4 Attack, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power Fire
-Subsitute
-Magnet Rise
Magnet Pull allows me to trap opposing steel types. Thunderbolt is my STAB move which deals with Skarmory. Hidden Power Fire deals with opposing Ferrothorn and Scizor, the latter of which could threaten my Tyranitar. Substitute helps defensively, while magnet rise deals with ground types.
Magnet Rise protects me against ground type attacks. Fire types are dealt with by other members of my team, although fighting could be a problem.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
EV's: 144 HP, 252 Attack, 112 Special Defense
-U-Turn
-Bullet Punch
-Pursuit
-Superpower
Scizor is an adamant nature to maximize attack. Scizor can counter other Tyranitars through bullet punch, and super power. Technician boosted Bullet Punch is a decent priority move which can deal with many enemies. Superpower is also super effective against Blissey. U-Turn allows Scizor to switch out, while Pursuit allows Scizor to hit enemy pokemon switching out.
Fire pokemon are very easily countered by other pokemon on my team. Anything else I can U-Turn out of.
Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Sand Veil
EV's: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
-Outrage
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Substitute
Garchomp serves as a decent sweeper. The EV investments in attack and speed allows Garchomp to outspeed and KO many opponents. Substitute helps to protect it from any statuses, and allows Garchomp to use Swords Dance without having to worry too much about enemy attacks. Outrage and Earthquake provide two powerful STAB attacks. The Lum Berry heals status.
Garchomp is threatened by Ice, which I can counter with Tyranitar or Magnezone. Any Steel pokemon can be dealt with by magnezone. Ferrothorn can counter other dragons, although I could kill them with Outrage.
