What's wrong with a Mega set like this?

Bullet Punch
U-Turn / Pursuit
Defog
Roost

MScizor makes a good, threatening utility pokemon if you have the right team for it? You're using Roost to keep him in good condition and Defog to keep your other hazard vulnerable sweeper pokemon (Sticky web / toxic spikes / stealth rocks) safe.

I found that even with swords dance, scizor still lacks abit in attack. Should scizor add extra attack since his mega evo already increased bulk?40 attack seems too little

I once had a Bullet Punch fight with a Mega Scizor, my Scizor runs Choice band with full Attack and HP EVs, Adamant nature, Tec Ability. I don't know if he did it wrong, but his died too fast. Mine was able to kill that Scizor and stay around for two more Bullet Punches after.

Hey does anyone know how (if it's possible) to get superpower and bug bite on a scizor? I can't seem to find the bp move tutor. Is there any other way?

Well no wonder your +6 Bullet Punch didn't KO Pyroar. There's usually nothing wrong with going max Attack, but max HP / max SpD @ Careful is an option for bulky boosting sets or Assault Vest variants.

I've been skimming through both this thread and the Defog thread and haven't found if it's possible to breed defog onto Scyther without having to wait to import from gen 5. Is it possible at all at the moment? I personally haven't found any way to do it, but maybe someone found something I didn't. Sorry if it's posted elsewhere, I could very well have missed it.

In case you guys didn't know, I can confirm Scyther DOES NOT get Superpower as an Egg Move this generation. I just bred it with a male Pinsir with Superpower and got nothing. Looks like we'll have to transfer over our RNGed Scythers from Gen 5.

scizor has an awesome ability to revenge the shit out of mega gengar, trapping the ultimate trapper with technician boosted super effective pursuit, as scizor tanks a shadow ball or focus blast even without hp investment and a pursuit kills it when switching out, and even if mega gengar stays in, a pursuit followed by a bullet punch will kill it. Choice band scizor's pursuit has a 93.75% chance of OHKO'ing mega gar even when it doesn't switch, guaranteed KO with rocks.

What if gengar carries HP Fire?

What if gengar carries HP Fire?
Hp fire is rather uncommon on gengar, it much prefers other options like thunderbolt and sludge bomb, since it doesn't like taking on scizor in the first place, and focus blast already takes care of other steels like ferrothorn.

I've been trying to come up with a Utility Scizor to act as a Defog Partner for my Charizard-Y. At first I was hesitant given Scizors 4x Weakness to Fire and Charizard-Y's Drought, but after playing a number of games I'm starting to think that with the weather nerfs, it isn't as big of a deal as it may have been in past generations. Not only would Scizor normally be on the field BEFORE I send out Char-Y and activate Drought, but with only 5 turns for weather, it is normally safe to send Scizor in as the sun is winding down, given that an opponent will take a turn to send counter with a Fire-type.

Anyway, with that out of the way, I'm struggling to determine how to build a Defogging Scizor to couple with Char-Y. My initial intention was to alter the common Trapper set, but its hard to get rid of Roost and still run a Life Orb. So, assuming Defog and Roost have to stay, and because Bullet Punch is pretty much another staple, the choice between U-Turn and Pursuit has to be made. That's a tough one, as I think both are pretty critical to successfully running the set.

So, other thoughts on how to built the type of Scizor I'm looking for? Or is the general consensus that I am crazy to run a 4x Fire Weak Pokemon with Char-Y. I just really think weather will be more a buff for the inducer than a hindrance to other team members.

So is 252 hp/40attack/216 spe def gonna be the final stat distribution? Or should some other changes be made?

You get that you can EV however you want to fit what you're doing with it right?

Although if you're up against something that can live a +6 bp and has a fire attack you have no business staying in on it

We still don't have a good stat distribution for bulky non-SD Mega Scizor, though I imagine it would run more attack than the SD version.

Does jolly scizor outrun anything significant that adamant doesn't? I'm wondering, with bullet punch and priority, if the extra speed is with it.

Also have to wonder if jolly misses any key ko's.
