ORAS NU SeaKangaroo

Herro n00bz of Smogon! it is I, Caiahar, here to bore you with an RMT (Ready-Made-Teaspoons)!!

4 todayz show, I will be showcasing a team built around the Floatzel and Kangaskhan core.

I started off with the Special Floatzel+Kanga core. These two help each other a lot, Floatzel breaking through the physical walls, and Kanga hitting a large portion of the metagame hard. Floatzel may be outclasses in the special part by Samurott, but..Floatzel has speed. Floatzel outspeeds everything in NU aside from Sneasel and Swellow, and ofc scarfers. Its also unpredictable, as something like a Weezing switches in and gets bopped by a Hydro Pump. Also carries Taunt for stall and bulkier teams. And guess what? Burn immunity!

LERD STUNFISK. Stunfisk has been getting more popular since the drops, with the ability to check Magneton. He has good defenses of 109/84/99. He takes electric attacks aimed at Floatzel, as well as other special hits. He is the SR setter and Special Wall.

Now I also need a physical wall, as well as something that can take grass and fighting types thrown at Kanga and Floaty. ah HAH! Gourgeist-Super seems good! With an okay HP and reaally good physical defenses, this gurl takes physical hits to the store. She also pairs well with stunfisk, taking its grass, water, and ground attacks thrown at it. Stunfisk in turn, can take a fire hit okay and eat up flying hits. This gurl is the physical wall of this team.

Now what else does this team struggle with? Ah. Mega-Audino. Now who else is a better M-Audino check than Magneton? This isn't the usual specs or scarf, but instead an Eviolite Analytic set. Magneton now is a bit fast, strong, and bulky. His strong attacks, especially on switches, doesn't want to be taken lightly. Since everyone expects a choice, it's pretty fun to bluff the choice and hit them unexpected late-game (M-Dino coming after an HP ground, only to find out its not choiced :P). This is the only momentum move user of this team and does a darn good job at it.

Last mon is this sneaky little guy, Sneasel. Band Sneasel, in fact. A Band Knock Off Will hurt, unless your name is Mega Audino. Being the second fastest in the NU unboosted tier, he serves as a pretty good revenge killer and wallbreaker. The Knock Off utility really helps, and getting rid of psychics and ghosts is always welcome.

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Core Part 1. I always loved Floatzels design. His stats make him seem like a physical attacker, but he's a pretty good special one as well. Outspeeding majority of the NU tier, he hits pretty hard with his attacks, 2HKOing a lot of things and weaking them. Hydro Pump is for maximum power, Ice Beam for grasses, Focus Blast for steels, and Taunt to screw up stall and bulkier teams.

Kangasaur (Kangaskhan) (F) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
AWW THAT BABY IS SO CUTE. Ehem, this is Core part 2. Kanga hits majority of the metagame pretty damn hard. Most things that beat Kanga get beat by Floatzel, like Weezing or Gourgeist or Ferroseed. This is the pretty standard set

Swagfisk (Stunfisk) @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Discharge
- Earth Power
- Toxic

LERD STUNFESK. Dis pancake takes special hits well, as well as electric hits.
He is the SR setter, a special wall, a Magneton check, a lord, and a pancake. Discharge for parahax, Earth Power for STAB. Toxic is for wall noobz

gourgeist-super.gif

PumpkinGlop (Gourgeist-Super) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 248 HP / 200 Def / 60 SpD
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Leech Seed
- Synthesis
- Foul Play

Cute mon. Ignore the pumpkin. It's still cute. This gurl takes Grass type attacks aimed at Stunfisk and Floatzel, Grass from Stunfisk, and Fighting for Kangaskhan. Ground to an extent. Physical Wall. The EV's let it survive 2 fire blasts from Tauros, or 2 Shadow Balls from offensive Claydol. WoW screws physical attackers not named Gurdurr, leech seed is good for passive damage and recovery, Synthesis is for straight up recovery, and Foul Play is the Attack.

magneton.gif

DeathTron (Magneton) @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ground]

One of the new drops from RU, Magneton is quite powerful. Paired with Analytic, it's very hard for anything to switch in. I would say almost none, but that's specs Magneton. This is Eviolite Magneton. Being bulky, fast, and strong certainly helps. It's also fun to bluff the choice item. Some guy comes in on an hp ground, trying to set up, BOOM gets bopped!

sneasel.gif

SwiftClaws (Sneasel) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Sneasel has recently moved up into NU, and it deserves that title. Sporting the strongest Knock Off in the tier, coupled with Choice Band, nothing wants to take it except Turkey Dino. He's a good revenger, and the Knock Off Utility and the ability to get rid of psychics and ghosts really helps.

SO THAT'S ALL 4 TODAY FOLKS!! Please give good suggestions (And no, I will not replace Floatzel nor Kangaskhan) as I am open to most of them.

Hey Bro,
Cool looking team you have here, puts to use a really cool floatzel set, I personally find special floatzel to be very underrated as a Mon in general, its great speed tier, decent power and wide movepool are what make it shine out above stuff like special samu etc. I like your team quite a bit but you seem to lack hazards control. With 5/6 of your mons being hit by tspikes, having all of your mons hit by sr including the weakness to it in sneasel, I think it is imperative that you have a way of defogging / spinning / bouncing and as result, can increase your teams longevity in battles against bulkier opposition.

As a reuslt, Im going to suggest Leftovers CM Xatu > Magneton. This might come as a surprise to you, but I feel like magneton isn't really doing much for your team. Its got a few really cool resists that your team likes, but, xatu better fits the hyper offensive nature of this team, with floatzel taking care of the rock type setters, you maintain your m-audino counter, add an extra win-condition (which your team actually lacked) and a way to pressure all the hazards setters that try and settup stealth rock. Its a xatu, so don't be afraid to switch it in on rock types if it means you don't let the opponent get hazards up and give you a better chance at winning.

You might also want to try Assault Vest on Kangaskhan. These are mere optimisations, AV on Kang means you have a more reliable special samu switch in.

Xatu @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Roost
- Psyshock
- Heat Wave / Giga Drain

Gl with your team, as I said, I love floatzel, so I wish you every future success.

I don't think Floatzel learns Grass Knot tho.
As for Xatu, that gives me a triple ice weakness. Magneton helps by having an ice resist

this is a pretty well built team that doesnt really look weak to any major threats so I commend you for that. As hjad said however, your team is very vunerable to toxic spikes due to 5 of your 6 pokes being affected with no way to remove them. A combination of Toxic Spikes + Malamar especially is a huge bitch for you to deal with since your only answer to Mala (gourgeist) is quite quickly worn down.

Fortunately there is a simple change to help remedy this. In your teambuilding process, you stated that gourgeist is basically just there to chew Grass and Fighting attacks and be a physically defensive tank. I'd suggest that you go with Togetic > Gourgeist as Togetic provides you with a sturdy fighting check, Hazard Removal, and one of the best answers to Malamar in the tier. It also doesnt stack any weaknesses which you seem to be concerned about. Although, with this change Kabutops becomes a really big threat to your team, so i think that running Timid Specs Magneton seems like a necessary evil here in order to combat that. Timid Mag can outspeed stuff like Adamant Kabutops and doesnt have to risk speed ties with Adamant Rott which is also cool and specs lets it not be completely piss weak against stuff like M-Audino. Also run HP grass on it to hit Quagsire as you already have a way to deal with Magneton in Stunfisk.

Also change your stunfisk spread to a spread of 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SpDef Calm b/c it allows stunfisk to retain some physical bulk, while still being able to take an Analytic boosted + a non-Analytic boosted HP Grass/Ground from modest specs Magneton at full

anyways thats the best i got, i hope i helped!
