I've always considered myself a good artist. Not in a cocky way but in a "I feel like my art skills are a little above others" sort of way. I don't draw often but I do when I'm inspired, I particularly like drawing for my girlfriend. For whatever reason I decided to sit down and draw tonight. The result will be the first of many pictures in my art thread.

I will be putting up pictures every once in a while and taking request whenever I can. I hope you enjoy and give me tons of critiques!
 
Nice Lugia, looks really good, could you draw me a a Scizor? would look awesome in your style :P Before you draw it, answer this, do you copy pictures or draw them from your head?
 
I draw from my head, the only sort of reference I used for this drawing was from the first page of google image search for lugia (for the mouth and hand shapes). Otherwise, everything else was me. Ill get started on the Scizor right now.
 
So here is that Scizor you asked for coldRAIN, I hope you like it. I'm sorry if you think its a little dirtier, but my pen wasn't cooperating. I'll go get a new one today.

Whoa, that is awesome. It's really clean and somewhat comic like :). Could you maybe draw me a loudred with a ghetoblaster on his shoulder/next to him. That would be awesome :D
 
I could give it a try, I am assuming a ghetoblaster is a boom box? Let me see what other people have to say first, and then I'll get started on taking more requests (is that ok?).
 
Really nice work, dude - these look like coloring book pages. You have a really good grasp of line and form, I really liked the way you did lugia's wing/hands and how you weren't afraid to draw scizor's claws facing front. You used some nice interesting poses, too. You should try coloring these man, they'd look even more awesome.
 
Thank you, it's a real pleasure to receive praise from you Rocket Grunt (I've been a fan of your work for a LONG time). I would color them myself but there are two reasons I don't. The first of which is that I am not confident in my coloring skills, the second is that even if I felt like getting out of my comfort zone I don't have the materials to make it happen (neither tablet nor physical art supplies). I was messing around with mspaint for fun and they look interesting, but I think that is as far as I'll go until those situations get resolved (or somebody suggests something else).

Edit: By the way, I apologize beforehand if any anatomy is off, I try and get a feel for the basic anatomy with google image search. If I still manage to mess it up I'm sorry.

Haha, that's awesome mate, I love it, thanks alot! I was the first to post in your thread, first to make a request and very happy about the result :) I've always drawn from a picture onto paper but I'm getting a new computer and a tablet so when I start drawing pokemon I'll have to learn to drawn from the head :P I want to get as good as you XD
 
You're very welcome, I'm glad you liked it. I enjoy taking requests, it gives me motivation to try other things I wouldn't normally draw. I got confused when you asked if I copied my drawings, but whatever I'll keep drawing=D
 
Feel free to. Actually this goes for everyone, feel free to use my drawings for whatever you like. No credit is necessary though it is always nice, please don't take the art and call it your own though. By the way, anyone interested in help for the amethyst project thing I can do line art for pokemon (if those two haven't been done feel free to pixel over those).

Just got an idea, if you want to color them feel free to print them out and do. If it's possible why not scan them back and paste a link to them so everyone can see =D
 
Hmm, I'm gonna print out Scizor twice and colour it in with both texters and pencils to see which one is better and which ones I'll continue using for colouring in your picture, I'll try and post them when it's done which shouldn't take very long (you can decide which ones I use XD) In the mean time, can I request a Sceptile? One last thing, I'm assuming you use a pen and paper? If so what kind of pen do use?
 
I use a fine point sharpie, or at least I did on this occasion. To be honest it was all I had at the time (I hadn't planned on drawing), and I'm not sure how good it is but it came out okay I guess. Thank you for taking the time to print and color my drawings, it's flattering that people like the drawings I thought were just decent, nothing special. I'll be putting up a picture I drew of (and for) my girlfriend a few months ago. As soon as she gets back to her dorm I'll ask her if I can borrow it for a second =D
 
Alright, so I personally wasn't too happy with the way Sceptile came out. It is probably anatomically incorrect in more ways than it is correct, I apologize. I tried to make it have a nice pose but I'm not sure it worked out. You guys be the judges.

Whoah, that looks awesome :D. I think my request is a bit too complex for this style of drawing btw, so feel free to scrap that btw ;)

That's awesome mate but what happened to its legs? :O

I'm gonna start colouring you're drawings tonight, oh and can I keep requesting here? It's fun to see what you can draw with my requests :D
 
Yeah of course, I'll try my best to keep up with requests. I'm sorry for not putting legs and the overall low low quality of this last drawing. I've never drawn a Sceptile, and most of the reference art is close to the same pose, for sure everything from the front. I wanted to do a different pose but there was not references for me to use. I'll try my best for future drawings.

I'm doing Scizor at the moment, I'm doing it with coloured pencils, I'm shading and using highlights to reflect light off it's body, shouldn't take too long.

In the mean time, may I request a Dragonite ;)
 
That would be awesome! I will get to work on the Dragonite as soon as possible, I've been wanting to work on another one and Dragonite seems like a perfect idea.
 
Venonat would also be cool in your style, if you get bored. Kingdra, too. Really like your drawings; very personalized.
 
I'm about to start working on the Dragonite that was requested, in the meantime though I got another older piece of art. I made this one for my girlfriend a few months ago. I'm not the best artist when it comes to people, but I'm proud of this one!

Sorry if it's a little light, I'm not sure how to make that better. It was made on a normal piece of paper with a normal pencil with her sitting in front of me. Is it any good?
