✪GreenGiant✪ (Dragonite) (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
Dragonite, with its incredible bulk and multiscale ability, I wanted to make use of its dragon dance move. My initial goal was to have this pokémon swap into a user that it can take a hit from and either set up a dragon dance or revenge kill with extreme speed with ease. With its immunity to ground moves and such other things that are a common occurrence in OU battles, it would be a waste if I did not add him in.

excadrill.gif

✪Retro✪ (Excadrill) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

Hazards like stealth rocks was a major issue with Dragonite and it would make the effect of multiscale useless unless I did something about it. This is where Exadrill comes in. Being resistant to fairy and dragon types and being able to use rapid spin suggested to me that it would make a good pair with Dragonite. The mold breaker ability was chosen over sand rush. Even though sand rush would make this 'mon much faster and have a better utilization with its high attack stat, the sand would negate the multiscale ability of Dragonite and I did not think it would be wise to have it. I also chose mold breaker to help attack levitating users giving Exadrill. Choice scarf was added to double its speed to out-speed some 'mons to perform a rapid spin when necessary.

azelf.gif

✪RubyGem✪ (Azelf) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 228 Def / 28 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Skill Swap
- Taunt

Due to the lack of sand rush and not being able to possess the sturdy ability, I did not find it wise to have Exadrill learn Stealth Rocks. I wanted a pokémon that could learn stealth rocks as I find that the hazard helps a lot with removing the use of focus sashes and sturdy from opposing 'mons that I plan on sweeping with Dragonite and help aid Exadrill with attacking. I've looked through plenty of choices but the only thing I could find that stood out for me was Azelf - with its use of taunt, explosion and knock off as well I found it to be very viable in my team. Even though its main purpose is of a suicide lead sometimes I find myself using Klefki first to set up screens and halt myself on the use of Azelf until further on in the battle (depending on the team my opponent has). Taunt is useful in cases where I predict someone with will-o-wisp, for example, that would hinder the attack of my Dragonite. I would switch into Azelf with that prediction and either force my opponent to switch out or Taunt it.

serperior.gif

✪LeafyCrest✪ (Serperior) (M) @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Glare

I began to feel that I was lacking in another offensive pokémon and took the opportunity to use Serperior. Miracle seed was chosen over life orb to prevent any recoil damage but still provide a boost to the key move, leaf storm. Serperior's 113 base speed, contrary ability and its use of dragon pulse to take out opposing dragons that can knock out my Dragonite. With rocks up chipping away health and if Serperior has already gotten a boost or two in special attack with the leaf storm + contrary combo, it's able to take out many things. The last move, glare, is used to hinder the speed of possible sweepers and give pokémon like Exadrill and Dragonite and itself a possible edge in moving first to attack.

clefable.gif

✪PlushToy✪ (Clefable) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Moonlight
- Heal Bell
Clefable was put in originally to support Dragonite and provide heal bell support in case it or any of my pokémon have been inflicted with a status such as burn once Azelf had sacrificed itself to do its job. Utilizing its unaware ability and being behind screens (potentially) I found it able to tank hits and set up calm mind to possibly sweep or put a big dent into the opposing Pokemon team unless the opposing 'mon is a steal type...

klefki.gif

✪Jingly✪ (Klefki) (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Fairy Lock
- Foul Play

Klefki comes next. Being immune to poison and dragon I thought it would be a good switch in if my Dragonite or Clefable is in a bind with one of the following types. I also went for a screener to help Dragonite and Clefable have a better advantage in using their bulk.

End Notes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have battled a bit with this team on Showdown. I can't say it's the BEST but it's not bad either. I would love to know what things I should change, take out, add in etc. to help this team.
I feel that I shouldn't have a screener or maybe I should make Dragonite a bulky 'mon with roost to repair the use of multiscale. Perhaps something other then Clefable in my team and maybe a fire type like Heatran or something to soak in fire attacks that are a big problem for Klefki, Serperior and Exadrill.
Any help would be grateful.
This Azelf is Naive nature with one physical move, no special moves, and EVs in Special Attack. If you want to keep that moveset, move the EVs to attack or something, and use a Jolly nature. Even then, it still seems like a mess. This set commits way too much into Azelf's tankiness while also using Focus Sash, which is a bit of a waste. Uxie can drop Stealth Rocks too, with decent (base 95) speed, while innately having the tankiness you're trying to build on Azelf. If you're going to use Azelf, don't put EVs into Defense. Use one of these (Azelf if you want fast and decent damage; Uxie if you want tankiness):
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive/Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Flamethrower / Knock Off
- Explosion
Uxie @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 192 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Psyshock
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn / Dazzling Gleam
Other than that, it looks good. Seems like a fun team to play.
Thanks for the advice. I guess I hadn't payed much attention to Azelf's stats and nature while making this team. I'll try out your examples.
Hey MobianAngel, Dual Screens is a cool choice to base a team around. Some of your members are simply too passive though, and I feel that even with Screen support you don't have enough synergy or team support for your Pokemon to break through a well built team that generally aims to check Dragonite or Serperior anyway. You also have no mega and only have two Pokemon that can take advantage of screens, plus Skarmory walls your entire team. My rate will focus on making your team take full advantage of screens, improve its offensive synergy, and make it more offensive to keep momentum up.
I think running both Klefki and Azelf on the same team ends up wasting a team slot for a few reasons. Azelf can set up screens just like Klefki can, and Klefki is a free Defog or Rapid Spin for virtually all hazard removers, especially since you're not even running Thunder Wave to threaten to cripple them. Since combining Azelf and Klefki's roles together can free up a team slot so you can have something else take advantage of the screen support, I think you should run a set of Taunt / Reflect / Light Screen / Stealth Rock on Azelf to remove the need for Klefki. The spread I'll provide will allow it to take Fake Out + Return from M-Lopunny.
Since you no longer need Klefki, something to support your other two win conditions would be nice, so you should run Dragon Dance + 3 Attacks Charizard-X > Klefki. Charizard-X and Dragonite can break down each others shared checks in a hard hitting DragSpam core, and with Earthquake you can lure in and take out Heatran to support Serperior.
Unaware Clefable is a complete momentum sapper on a playstyle that tries to continuously overwhelm opponents and make use of the turns Screens are up as much as possible. I understand that you're trying to have a backup plan against opposing set up Pokemon, but there's a better option for this. I think you should run Thundurus > Clefable since this provides you with Thunder Wave support to help you cripple and revenge kill threats. Thundurus is also a good addition to this team since it has access to Grass Knot which beats stuff like Hippowdon, Quagsire, and Gastrodon that are great checks to your Dragon Dance core.
Lastly, since Thundurus carries priority Thunder Wave, you should run Taunt > Glare on Serperior since this allows it to beat checks to it such as Chansey, Unaware Clefable, and SpDef Skarmory 1v1 by preventing them from using status or recovery moves. Taking out Skarmory and Unaware Clefable also is nice support for Dragonite which can't break them.
An alternative route you can take with the team would be to keep Klefki as your Dual Screen setter, and make your Stealth Rock setter be an Earth Plate + Swords Dance Landorus-T that you'd run instead of Dragonite. This provides you with a Thunder Wave user and Screens setter with better longevity, and better matchup against Sand Rush Excadrill, M-Diancie, Weavile, and Alakazam. With Thunder Wave on Klefki, Thundurus can go with a mixed set that can run Psychic to hit M-Venusaur and Amoonguss to support Serperior. I personally think this version might be a bit better since it's capable of taking hits better and is still very offensive, but it is a bit of a big change from your original team. I'll leave it below so you can try it out if you'd like.
