Sorry I took so long. I just finished mid-terms and couldn't really work on this. Well, here I go.

[Overview]

Believe it or not, Shellos is a lot better than what it appears to be. It's got a decent Special Attack stat and some bulk Shellos doesn't have much of a movepool, but it has enough to pull through. One of the most obvious flaws is that it is majorly outclassed by almost all other Water-types, and it doesn't get Hydro Pump. The thing that keeps Shellos away from competitive play are those darn other Water-types.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Surf
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Hidden Power Electric/ Hidden Power Grass
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Sticky Hold
nature: Timid
EVs: 220 SpA / 244 Spe
IVs: 30 SpA

[SET COMMENTS]

This is the best (and only) set that Shellos can actually run. It has average Special Attack and reaches 21 Speed with Choice Scarf. Its STAB attack is Surf, which hits other Pokémon fairly hard. The other moves that Shellos runs are for coverage. Ice Beam hits flyers and Grass-types hard. Earth Power gets Electric-types such as Chinchou, while Hidden Power Electric gets Water-types. Hidden Power is also an option, as it can pound Water Ground-types such as Barboach. Shellos' better ability is Sticky Hold, as Knock Off and Trick users will be stopped cold. The given EVs are really just to increase Shellos' Speed and Special Attack stats.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This set needs Stealth Rock support so that less Pokémon will be inclined to switch into Shellos. Pokémon that are good partners are the ones that can remove Munchlax, its number 1 counter. If Shellos isn't running HP Grass, it will lose to a Water Ground-type Pokémon with ease. Both Snover and Shroomish can take care of all of these Pokémon.

[Team Options]

Pokémon that can remove Munchlax (Machop, Mankey) are always welcome to be by Shellos' side. Actually, physical attackers in general are good partners. Ground-types help, but they share a Grass-type weakness. Bronzor should always be on Shellos' team as it provides an easy Stealth Rock. Anorith can do this as well.

[Optional Changes]

Shellos gets Curse, but no Waterfall/ Aqua Tail, or even a decent physical STAB attack out of Dive(which isn't good at all). It gets Icy Wind if lowering the opponent's speed is of priority. Amnesia is yet another move that is not recommended. It does get Recover, a move it might use if the correct amount of EVs are put in. Rain Dance is another option. To counter Mantyke, Ancientpower could be used because of its seconday effect, but Hidden Power Electric gets the job done better.

[Counters]

Munchlax is arguably the best counter to Shellos. It can hit Shellos with a STAB Return and sponge all of its attacks. Mantyke can come in on anything but a Hidden Power Electric, especially if Stealth Rock is up. Grass-types easily beat up Shellos if it is not already locked into Ice Beam. Snover is yet another counter with its STAB Energy Ball.

Hey, don't you think you need to add much more to the analysis?

Counters is only two lines, so is Team Options and AC. For example, in Counters, list certain Grass-type Pokemon which defeat Shellos. Its way too short right now, so add
more.

In the Counters section:

"Mantyke can come in on anything but a Hidden Power Electric especially if Stealth Rock is not up."

You forgot to add that.

In OC, Yawn, Pain Split, Counter, and even Recover can be added to OC. Their not good, but their mediocre at least, and should get a mention.
