Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

Yes, you're doing something wrong, in order to have a pokemon with 5-6 ivs you need to breed with two parents with 6IVs...
That's why I was searching for an eevee Impish 6 IVs with HA... I'll guess Im going to breed it...
It takes around 90 eggs (3 boxes) to have a 6 IVs pokemon and then switch to breed with it...

Hope that was usefull...
if you're using digital version let me know, I found an EV checker over the network, so you avoid manual checking all the hatched eggs...

Thanks for the help but i get 5ivs regularly and sometimes even 6ivs by the method i use, also 4ivs are rare but they do come up. So the problem is i'm being extremely unlucky that the shinies that hatch are 4ivs. I checked it online for answers. Also naah, i have a cartridge
Thanks for helping again.

Just so you know, the chances of hatching a 4IV offspring with a 6IV and 5IV parent is 40% and the chance of getting a 5IV offspring is only about 58%, it's almost the same.

Hello, I'm new and I just signed up. I've been trying to hatch shiny Beldum( I know about the event but I wanna have a shiny Metagross I earned) I've been reading this for a couple days while trying to hatch a shiny beldum. I have the shiny charm and I'm using the Masuda Method. So far I've hatched 1,010 beldum eggs with no shiny.

So far my Masuda Method Shinies are: 1.Deino (9th egg without shiny charm) I breed it with a Modest nature but didn't know about IVs at the time. 2:Bagon (300-400 eggs without shiny charm, Then got the shiny charm and got the shiny on my 166th egg. It had Sheer force but didn't have 31 attack IV. Now I'm breeding for Beldum and I'm currently at 1,020. This is by far my longest Masuda Method hunt.

I soft reset the game a while ago once to test it out, and ever since I haven't gotten any shinies, not by chain fishing, Masuda Method, or any other shiny hunting method. Am I just unlucky?

I took a break from hatching beldum eggs and went fishing chaining. I found a shiny Horsea at chain 113. At least I know now that my game isn't glitched.

Just unlucky. And if you just reset, you don't have the Shiny Charm, correct?
Nah, I still have the shiny charm. Soft reseting just changes hidden values that determine shininess for starters is think. I tried to get a shiny by fishing chaining to see if I could still get shinies, and I scored a shiny Horsea on my 112th chain. Total eggs hatched- 1246. Total Shinies: 1 (Bagon at egg #166. Sorry I sounded a bit confusing.

I ... don't really understand your post, but okay.

Total number of eggs hatched - 1920
Total number of shinies - Still 5 :(

I think changing parents does help with getting a shiny actually. Ever since I got a 6IV Ditto and used it for all my breeding projects, I've only gotten one shiny from it. Maybe switching parents to increase chances of a shiny could be our next project since people are reporting the same thing :p

I've been using the same ditto to breed all of my shinies. Aside from my noibat's 900+ eggs, I got them pretty regularly every few hundred eggs.

I'm currently at 2075 eggs (772 eggs since my one and only counted shiny), soo...with all the people here that have 1:100 egg ratios, there have to be a couple of us pulling bad 1:2075 ratios. :-/

Aww I guess I'm just going through a bit of a shiny drought right now then. I used to get a shiny every time I changed parents though. It's kind of spoiled me lol

Update: Hatched 1,110 Beldum eggs so far: No shiny. Going to hatch a batch of 90 eggs, will report back once I'm done. Total Eggs hatched after shiny charm:1,280
Shiny Bagon egg #166

New around here. Thought I would give shiny hunting a go for the first time.
So I got the shiny charm, and decided to start with breeding for a shiny Yanma.
Got it on the 697th egg! All blue and sparkly : > ("Sparx", Timid Compound-Eyes 5IV missing SPDEF)
Used a 6IV Japanese Ditto & English Yanma.

Gonna try for a Noibat next.

What's up everyone? I recently acquired the shiny charm, and decided to make a few shiny babies. This is my first time using the Masuda Method.
All of these were done with a 5IV parent with my OT and a 6IV German shiny Ditto (so legit)

Electrike: 5 eggs, 1 shiny (#4)
Onix: 855 eggs, no shiny
Magnemite: 330 eggs, no shiny
Absol: 210 eggs, no shiny
Total: 1400 eggs, 1 shiny

So, even considering the amazing luck I had to get a shiny on the fourth egg since getting the charm, I'm having considerably less luck since.
For those of you who are curious, here he is:

309.gif

"Ion" the Electrike (Male)
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk), Alert to sounds
IVs: 31/xx/24/31/31/31
Ability: Lightning Rod
Egg Move: Electro Ball

My first shiny in maybe eight years (second shiny ever, after a Numel in Emerald) with quite a lot of play time (1000+ hours). Isn't he beautiful?
