NU Sigilyph (NU)

Sigilyph @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Air Slash
- Heat Wave
- Roost

Sigilyph's expansive movepool, amazing ability, and respectable offensive stats make it one of NU's most dangerous threats, so much so that NU is currently conducting a suspect test for it. Very few Pokemon can stop Sigilyph after a Calm Mind due to many of NU's Flying-type checks being obliterated by Heat Wave, namely Copperajah and Bronzong. Psyshock can be used instead of Air Slash to power past specially defensive tanks like Cresselia, Dragalge, and Goodra. Even faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Rotom-C cannot break past Sigilyph after a Calm Mind, doing, on average, a mere 64% with Thunderbolt. While Sigilyph does have its checks in Rock-types like Tyrantrum, Diancie, and Aerodactyl, they are easily handled by bulky teammates like Gastrodon and Copperajah. Dark-types are also a nuisance, but thanks to Sigilyph's great Special Attack boosted by Life Orb, Pangoro, Zoroark, and Drapion cannot safely come in against any of its attacks.

Even faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Rotom-C cannot break past Sigilpyh Sigilyph after a Calm Mind, doing, on average, a measly 64% (i wouldn't really call dealing over half HP "measly" damage tbh but unless you can think of a better word it should be whatever) with Thunderbolt. While Sigilyph does have its checks in Rock-types Pokemon like Tyrantrum, Diancie, and Aerodactly Aerodactyl, these they are easily handled by bulky teammates like Gastrodon and Copperajah. Dark-types are also a nuisance, but thanks to Sigilyph's great Special Attack, (RC) augmented boosted by Life Orb, Pangoro, Zoroark, and Drapion cannot safely come in against any of its attacks.
